Of course not. Amirox is possibly NeoGAF's top #NoDRM advocate and he's the same guy who several years back declared the PS3 dead.

All 90% of NeoGAF cares about is games. Don't get in the way of us enjoying our games, give us good mediums through which to experience them, and we'll shower you with dollars. Try to fuck with that and NeoGAF will bite down on your leg like a rabid pit bull that hasn't tasted meat in a week.

The NeoGAF masses might be frothing, but it's not for Sony, it's for the right to play the way we want. There is no hive mind and console warrior are far outnumbered by simple gamers who feel entitled to the games they pay for.

This is exactly what people expected/predicted and perfectly acceptable in my opinion. The number of online features and infrastructure needed behind it guarantees it wont all be free. But basic gaming likely won't cost as that would affect sales overseas.

Man, all this (justified) negativity has just sucked out all the magic out of E3 for me.
Wow, a couple of days ago i wanted to be froze in time till the 10th, now i'm wondering if i should even bother to stay up till 4 am to see whatever conference.
I haven't missed an E3 in 6 years, so i'll probably tune in just for tradition, but fuck if they haven't managed to do the impossible and ruin what was going to be the best E3 in a decade. :\
Ugh.

Glad to see that some of you are still hyped though, hopefully it's contagious.

I'm sure this has been talked about but whatever. What do you guys think Sony will actually do about the whole DRM scenario. They can easily just follow Microsoft on this and everyone will have nothing to do but to deal with it (or just stick to Nintendo/PC). They can easily take this route.

They can also just completely steal the hearts of every gamer out there and announce that they aren't doing that shit BUT they would also lose the support of many big name publishers and they really don't want that.

So if you were Sony (forget about loving videogames for a bit) what would you do? Risk losing some fans or risk losing major publisher deals (which in turn we would suffer from as well).

Bad news all around I'm afraid. Troubled times are ahead ; ;
