The multi-tasking looks awesome. The actual visual design of the plain blue menus, with lots of overly large boxes scattered all over looks horrible.

Not a fan of the system UI at all. XMB is better if they added multi-tasking and improved friend list stuff.

So much multi-tasking! That's actually pretty cool. Too bad I'm probably never gonna do that since when I play a game, I'm usually not doing something else along with it. The downloading feature might help for certain games, that's something I secretly wanted for a long time.

I do hope that all these showings of people chatting online gets more people actually using their mics. Not to mention the PS4 is supposed to come with one. It would probably be cool for games like Division, Killzone, and Battlefield 4.

Been saying all along I don't see why everyone thinks Sony will just "get" making online functionality good after having never done it right yet. This so much reminds me of the PS3's store interface which is atrocious to this day.

Really curios what next-gen can do with the UI, I hope expecially online connectivity gets better and something like joining party chat and so on really works as fast and smoothly as they make it out to be in every video.

I don't love the ridiculous teenage-ness of the ad, but the features look good. If the console really multitasks like a smartphone the way the ad makes it seem (double-tap PS button to go to prior app), then I'll be one happy camper, that's for sure.

The PS4 UI looks alright - the functionality looks excellent but the presentation looks too flat to me. I think I prefer the bubble-UI introduced by the Vita, and I think the bubbles could work really well on the PS4 thanks to the touch-pad on the DS4.

Thankfully the UI can always evolve through software updates.

I'm pretty sure the download was so fast because the PS4 has MMO-type streaming where you only need to download a small portion of the game to start it up, and it downloads in the background while you play. This is according to the reveal conference.

Thats what I took from it as well. Its really cool that they let you decide what portion of the game you download first
