If you're an Xbox gamer, you still should have voted PS4 in that poll. Why? Because the more Microsoft sees they're making a mistake, the more likely they'll change their policy.
spoiler: gamers are shallow
will be interesting to see how this data translates into sales, but I really doubt it means anything
Isn't it possible to somehow use Xbox controller for PlayStation? Like through some kind of adapter or something? I absolutely hate the PlayStation controller but if I do end up getting a console next gen it will be the PS4 but I really don't want to use the controller.

The Dualshock is the one thing holding me off from PS4. The DS3 is just that bad to me.

So how exactly do you operate your right thumb while playing the same type of game, and why is that not a problem for you?I mean this is an debate that has lasted for 2 console generations and it comes down to preference. I've been playing games all of my life and I hate the PS controller analog positions. Playing first or 3rd person shooters the left analog stick is spending 90% of its time in the "up" position. On the DS you have to hold your thumb in an unnatural thumb side gripping and pulling toward the middle of your index finger which cramps my hand pretty bad after about an hour. Whereas the 360 controller all you have to do is flick your thumb up. I'm sorry but for my preference the 360 controller is worlds better than the DS and unfortunately I have 2 3rd party PS3 "360like" controllers and they are complete garbage.

I have never understood all the controller wars.
If I use the 360 controller for an extended period of time, the DS3 feels really wrong. The same goes in reverse. .
My hands get used to whichever controller I use for a period of time. The only thing wrong with either controller is the 360's awful D-PAD. No amount of use makes that feel right
I think the controller debate might be the dumbest one in all of video games. Do people seriously have trouble with using anything really? I pick up the 360 controller I use it all is well. I pick up the dualshock I use it all as well. I excel at games with both, there's no real learning curve or anything. It's just slightly different thumb placement.
It's one debate I'll truly never grasp in my mind. I can't wrap my head around it. It's one thing to simply prefer one over the other but to the point where you simply cannot use the other is just weird to me. Its reached the point where I'm starting to pity those who can't just pick up and use whatever because they can't handle it for whatever reason. Give me some fuckin logitech ass random ass controller and I'll use that too. Give me a Wii U controller and I'll use it no problems.
360's dpad and DS3's triggers. Both improved for next gen. Good stuff.
This picture is incredibly stupid. If you are unable to offset your thumb by an inch, then you have serious orthopedic and biomechanical issues. Also, the right stick is 'low'.

This guy obviously has never learned to use the controllers in the right way.

we can only work with the data provided. in this case 32 people are in game, 19 of which playing MW2 - so we can conclude 60% (19/32) of gamers are full of shit
bearing in mind that media/internet manipulation is significantly higher in this case, I would estimate 90% of (console) gamers are full of shit post-e3, and if we remove those clowns from the sample then XBO and PS4 are much closer in votes
people don't like change, it's natural to have some initial resistance, but eventually consumers will realise that always online is the way forward
you're right that price is a deterrent, but it's up to MS marketing to justify it to consumers, they certainly have the tech to make a case for the price they are charging, but it's still steep. I'd like to see MS offer subsidies through third parties such as ISPs or TV service providers.
everyone in game is bumped to the front, not just mw2 players, so surely we would be seeing a larger mix of games
could be clearer but it's clear enough
the other 800 probably have the game too but I'm guessing they were sleeping at the time this pic was taken
internet hype of PS4 is through the roof too, and price isn't a factor since you don't have to pledge money towards a console in order to vote
I'll provide you that when you show me data of how many of these voters have preordered
If you have large hands holding the controller that way is the only way that feels even semi natural even though it's not ideal for using it.
The dualshock is my only concern about the ps4, I will be there day 1 to buy and try third party controllers.
I've never been able to use a PS controller for more than 15 min without hand issues. (rpgs aside where I'm frequently one handing the controller.)

The controller is the main draw of the XBO for me. The DS has always been too small for my hands and felt very awkward to hold.
Not enough of a draw for me to want to buy an XBO mind you, but it's something I'm pretty bummed to be missing out on. I'm hoping for some good 3rd party controllers.
[/thread]Welp that's that.

Welp that's that.

What the hell? This makes absolutely no sense as a comparison. People aren't voting for PS4 out of some sort of ideology, they are doing it because the XBone is a shitty product.
The people have spoken. Since most of the gaming consumers are teens and young adults, I'm surprised the young generation is so opposed to change and advancement to the digital future. It's very clear they would rather stick with the old system of physical copies. A system that is basically unchanged for over 30 years. Old is best, and the overwhelming strong support for the console that is most unchanged from previous generations is clear. Not suprised. LOOK how some people are reacting to the Xbox One DRM etc.

I'm sorry for this guy
I'm glad that I enjoy and use both
As if this is a PR problem...LOL; seriously, Microsoft's execs need some serious training by the PR team.
That is crazy business. I wonder why they took the poll down early.
Spoiler: False equivalence is idiotic.
