Anybody else a bit concerned about Evo at this point. Im not sure what the difficulty has been with providing 1080p direct feed footage over the course of several different events now, but I'm not sure it bodes well for Evo/Sony's ability to orchestrate the launch of a massive online game on a brand new system that'll be crushed with ps+ freebie players on day one. i love evo, i have all their games dating back to the WRC games actually - I just worry about their resource management - or whether or not they've been allocated enough resources as a Sony studio to pull this off.
Not to mention their track record on online stuff is not awesome. I remember being super stoked for the promised huge amounts of Motorstorm PR DLC, that was at one point promised to come on a near weekly basis, and then took months and months for anything to actually show up. And then when it did, it was pretty anemic.
Hopefully it goes off without a hitch and I know gameplay capture and netcode/server management represent separate issues but still, the - ongoing - difficulties with capturing and uploading some simple footage just doesn't inspire a huge amount of confidence for day one.
And just like everybody else, I appreciate you updating and weighing in, Rushy.
Oh brother... People are making a big deal out of nothing. Where's the 1080p direct feed gameplay Forza videos? There aren't any. And the same for many other games.
We've gotten 1080p trailers on each event, that's how games are marketed, these type of direct feed gameplay videos don't really matter outside of the GAF crowd. You can bet your ass we were the ones that pushed Rushy to release them, aint that right Rushy?
And their track record for online isn't great? Did you miss out on all of the Motorstorm games that, besides being a chaotic game, played perfectly online? I really do mean PERFECTLY. You couldn't tell you were playing online.
