I have never been a big fan of indie games (never got around to them I guess), so recommend me some!
I like Terraria (2D) and not such a fan of Amnesia (horror games)

Preferably one on sale right now (there is an indie sale right?)

The narration and story is pretty good until the last 1/4 of the game.

Then they somewhat abrubtly end the story for characters you're supposed to care about and introduce a bunch more that you're suddenly supposed to give a shit about.

It is pretty damning when I can say that a four hour game drags on for too long.
Yup,
I wish they had continued with Thomas and friends' story.
I still loved the game, and will totally buy the DLC if it ever gets released on Steam.

Heh, looks like the the thread has reached the saturation point with Mirror's Edge.
I refuse to believe this. You can never get enough Mirror's Edge in your life.

And okay, I'm a Terraria convert. Got the game on IOS. I had always kind of overlooked those 2D games because I assumed that the loss of a 3D world would remove depth and fun

Boy, was I wrong. Having played for two days, I can say 100% that Terraria blows Minecraft away gameplay-wise. MC has the better world for just uncharted exploration and vistas but Terraria has the awesome RPG elements, the awesome loot, and the awesome enemies.

Definitely going to have to get Terraria on PC now.

If you guys liked Terraria, them check out Don't Starve.
It is somewhat similar, but more focussed on survival elements, a rogue like, and from an isometric perspective.

And +1 to Papers Please and Teleglitch

While it probably doesn't fit your tastes and it isn't on sale I always recommend Hotline Miami regardless. I bought it on a whim from GAF recommendations and absolutely loved it.
It's what sparked my interest even more into indies. Before it its was really only the big stuff is see on XBLA or PSN.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is actually pretty good.

It could actually break into my top 5 of the year, at least for the time being.

Isn't it on Unreal Engine 2.5? Why is Ubisoft so lazy about engines?

And how would you rank it up against the most untouchable stealth game of all time, Chaos Theory, a game whose skill ceiling can't even be seen by human eyes it's so high?

I'd personally rank as one of the better splinter cell games. Not as good as CT, but it is really solid. I love the pre-mission stuff, customization, controls and the level design is definitely the crowning achievement. Long, dense levels. It's also got Spies Vs Mercs. Unreal engine shows some age but it still is a decent looking game.

I can't believe what a surprise it was. I had no hope for the game. But they really did achieve the classic feel of SC. Frustrating it was without Ironsides tho.

Well, Far Cry 3 is using Dunia, which is CryEngine 1 with modifications.

No sense in pumping money into a new engine if the old one can give you such results, is it?
Omg, Ubisoft probably doesn't even know how to write a codebase. All they can do is make uber casual games with win buttons.

Is it well optimized?

Is it well optimized?

I'm running it well but there are definitely some bugs. The game has crashed on me a few times. Not sure if it's uplay or the game, as the day one patch was pretty significant. I'm hoping they'll patch some more.

Also the Grimm missions are fucking great, but limited. Hoping for more as DLC. but the story missions I've played so far are really awesome.

Was there ever any news about adding the console content to the PC version of Terraria?

So I've played a little of Anodyne, and it's real special for such an affordable game. It captures the sensations you had playing old games as a kid. Edge said "This is a game for those who grew up in Hyrule but spent more time in Lordran in recent years." and I agree with that.

It doesn't take itself too seriously and feels sort of old and new in different ways. It has a unique colour palette and a blissful score. For £3 it's a steal given the inclusion of cards.

I liked it a lot (especially the soundtrack as you mentioned) until it added in the platforming sections. Don't know why the felt the need to put that in.

I haven't played the original version of Double Agent (yes, I'm ashamed), but here's my ranking:

Chaos Theory
Splinter Cell
Blacklist
Pandora Tomorrow
Double Agent (360)
Conviction

So, no, it's not quite as good as the near perfect Chaos Theory, but it's still a damn fine game, and one of the better stealth games I've played in the last few years.

What are your impressions of the Spies Vs Merc mode?

I was watching some streamers the other day and the difference between classic and blacklist mode were quite apparent.
It seemed, to me at least, that the classic mode was more tactical and looked, overall, more fun. The blacklist mode just looked like a junk show, with people just sprinting around and knifing people.

Is there a fix for the negative mouse acceleration? Can you change your speed via the mouse wheel still?

I can't really say I'm a fan of this not-so-subtle stealth attack on Grief. Totally uncalled for :/

Was playing Saints Row IV with my friend and she crashed/dropped out the game. Came back and her save files were gone. Any way to get them back :/?

Just beat Pid, decent game. Great visuals and music, the gravity mechanic is fun and there are enough clever ideas to keep you going. On the downside, a few sections get dangerously close to overstaying their welcome and the floaty controls are serviceable at best. All in all I had a good time and would recommend it if you don't have indie puzzle-platformer fatigue. I played on normal with a gamepad, took me 9.8h.

Mind you that I played it post-patch, the one that adjusted the broken difficult spikes in normal mode that were souring the experience for players, so I don't know how the game was before the update. As far as I know the PSN and XBLA versions weren't patched.
