Wish we had a super HQ Blim video of this.

Randomly generated dungeons are my jam. I'm a little bummed there's no offline mode, but co op with buddies should be a blast anyway. Count me in.

Exactly. I LOVE exclusives since they take advantage of the hardware more than a lot of third party garbage. This game would possibly bomb on a MS console and would likely be changed a bit to appeal more to that audience, and that's bad. Getting a nice, good looking console exclusive is always better to me.
Why would this bomb on the Xbox? :/

I don't see what's utterly incredible about Online Only, to be honest.

Online focused sure, it can be cool, online only means my game is worthless once they close the servers. It has to be REALLY good so the community will never drop the game, if it's "just pretty good" it has a chance of dying earlier than it should.

I think online interactions and drop in drop out gameplay that these type of games improve the experience, and if they focus on requiring people to be online they don't have to handle the scenarios where the user is offline or re-balance the game for that.

The servers being shut down is a valid concern, but with the cloud focus on this generation I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they won't be closing servers...

After those teaser images of ps2 quality . This looks fantastic . Hype mode engage again.

I also see no jump mechanics ,come on ;p

I don't see how people can tell how good the graphics are, the only direct feed stuff is from a trailer with not much game play. I already dislike the story and the fact that it's online only.

Sounds good, definitely will be paying attention to this. Loving Diablo III on console right now, so I'm in for a well done dungeon crawler, I just hope it's a little more forgiving than Dark/Demon's Souls.

Looked like a glorified tech demo to me. The premise sounds like the throw away MP portion of of a SP game, with the horrible catch being there is no SP

Why bother stringing together some crappy narative for a SP?

I like the random aspect I'm hearing about. It's the kind of thing I wished Dark Souls would have tried. A bit more monster hunter with some structed mp.

After the latest teaser trailer they did not disappoint. I am intrigued, hopefully you can play solo without any problems, online being optional, otherwise meh.

Hmm, pretty disappointed in the random dungeons aspect. It would have behooved them to create some really nice set pieces to show off this new graphics engine, rather than simply show off models of monsters.

Just not the kind of game I was looking for. Still looks super interesting though.

Randomized anything is not a good thing - at all.
Looks pretty though.

This.

It looks like Demon's/Dark Souls, only without the meticulously crafted and engrossing overworlds of the Souls games. And that voice acting is terrible, with what we've heard of the narrative sounding something like Toriyama wrote.

It looks like it'll be a fun game, but I hope that Souls project for ps4 actually exists.

There is no rule stating the narrative/lore/story line has to be crappy, ensuring that is isn't is the developers job.
Anyway for all intents and purposes this might as well be a forgettable free to play game, disappointing really.

Unlike the original reveal trailer, this now looks like what I can imagine a game you can play looking like.

Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls) greatest strength is its level design.

I have nothing against a random dungeon crawler, but it can never be a Souls game (or vice versa).

That's the thing. We only can say what it appears to be, but we won't actually know what it actually is in full until we see more of it. Not just any game attempting to mimic either of those games is necessarily guaranteed to succeed. The no sp for this kind of game probably took it off my radar, barring the game looking a lot more interesting to play once we get some better footage. So the game can still sell me, but that snippet I saw wasn't enough.

Yea, there was a dragon, and some fight on what looked like a small flight of stairs, but beyond that, I need to see some more. A dragon's presence isn't instantly "omg awesome." It depends on what fighting that dragon is actually like. :)

Looks like you got your "try hard" class with the tactical mask on today.

I'd prefer random environments/dungeons than the Souls route. They're fine on the first play though and then it just loses its charm after that and you know exactly what to expect

Thats the problem - random has no charm in the first place.

As others have pointed out, Souls influence is obvious.

- Armor design: practical, utilitarian, bags and pockets.
- Lifebar and damage numbers done exactly like Souls

On randomized dungeons... they have their positives as well. As an avid ex D2 player, I can tell you randomized means playthroughs are more exciting since you don't know what's around the corner. It also encourages replayability since it's new everytime. The devil's in the details tho, randomized dungeons need to be properly tuned.

Why is everyone down on thiz game for being online only? I thought after all the praise the division got GAF learned to let go of their hatred of always online things. I'm actually glad they didn't turn this into dragons dogma 2 considering the kind of tedious trite that game turned out to be.
