I think they did a pretty good job as well. It's just that it was extremely noticeable to me, even as a kid, that Tidus the narrator was a better actor than the actual Tidus who talked to other people. Tidus the narrator didn't have as many constraints.

That's true. It's so much better when the acting doesn't have constraints like that. I really got that when I played Persona 4. You're just looking at portraits, but that let's the acting breathe. You're getting performances in their purest forms.

Yes, a lot of time has passed between then and now. But during that time, they've been working on a ton of projects, not the least of which is getting Final Fantasy XV out the door sometime this century. That game, Lightning Returns, and X|X-2 HD are all being handled by one division within the company. A bad decision, definitely, but that's the way it is.

Of those three games alone (and there are likely others I don't know about as well), X|X-2 HD - a remaster of two games which >90% of their target audience have already played - isn't exactly high on the priorities list.

I'm not defending Square here, either. I think it's a terrible idea to put all that work on one group, let alone to have so many projects going at once in the first place. To be sure, the company is in dire need of management, restructuring, quality control, etc. But bringing up how long it's been since the games were announced is a flawed point, one that implies that X|X-2 is the only thing they've had to work on all this time. If anything, they've been working on this whenever they had some time to spare.

If it's only February, it's not that big of a deal for me, I was expecting December originally, anyways.

Maybe they'll fix Tidus' face.

Just because FFX|X-2 HD is probably delayed doesn't mean we won't ever see FFXII HD.

If X|X-2 HD sells well enough, and demand for a remaster of XII remains high, I can definitely see Square making it for XII's ten-year anniversary in 2016, or maybe even earlier.

That's not really a good reason for a delay, but it does add another perspective for how utterly fucked up SE's management practices are.

There's a reason they can't get anything done, if they had a proper workflow and management they wouldn't be the disaster they are. Stuff like this must be perfectly normal.

Obviously you've never had a job if you think the whole rest of the team can work when one guy is sick! Makes me think the whole team working on this game are a bunch of dummies.

Dude, seriously? That's about as obvious a fake as it gets.

Development isn't just going to stop if Kitase gets sick, and that isn't even the official FB page (this is the real one).

at the pre tgs show, they announced the new vita model will have a special edition ffx vita. "a release will be announced at a later date"

I think we'll get more news about FFX HD, maybe vita users will get a plate and the book. and a release date will be given..

Some new info from Sony's pre-TGS conference: there's going to be a Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Vita bundle!

It's curently for Japan only, though I would not be at all surprised to see it release everywhere.

Still no release date for either the games or the console bundle. More info will probably come during TGS itself.

That's odd, considering they make those all the time, never release them outside of Japan, and did the same thing with the PSP which was waaaaaay more successful than Vita.

The FFVII CC PSP was released in the West.

If we got the Crisis Core PSP, we'll more than likely get this too (edit: beaten!).

The Vita will be successful in time, especially with the recent price drop. It won't ever reach 3DS numbers, but it'll still move a respectable number of units by the end of its lifecycle.

For what it's worth, this was a Japanese event where 2013 was still stated. A 2013 date was also given in a recent Famitsu. Doesn't directly apply to western markets.

Also, Kagari told me some time ago that she heard it was delayed, sometime between E3 and Gamescom. She also revealed that in this thread. It's not impossible for Kagari to be wrong, but after the Gamescom trailer showing no date, and PAX reps stating 2014, I'm not optimistic.
