I do have a 'droid phone, but that just throws your "oh, there's button inputs too" argument out of the window doesn't it?

No actually. Android has had bluetooth controller support for years. You can probably use a PS3 controller on what you have right now.

The point is, let mobile games stay mobile games and don't put big guns on there, that's not how it works, I can't even play Minecraft on phones (even though it's there!) because of how inconvenient it is.

Though if it's just a card game, yeah, it'll be right at home on mobile.
Not on mine though.

Let mobile games be mobile games will make less sense as time goes on. It's an increasingly powerful computer in your pocket with multiple input devices.... why not have real games on there?

Just get one of those controllers that clips on to your phone. They might be obscure now, but so were gamepads on PC at one point. Things will change. iOS7 having native controller support will make it a thing (even on Android).

And let me add Exhibit B: iPhone absolutely owns Japan right now. The Japanese mobile games are coming. Real games.

Maybe you don't have a PSP either? So what? Not owning it is not a reason to hate mobile or any platform.

And if you don't have an iOS or Android device... you are in the minority.

No one? Except.... everyone.

Yeah iOS and Android... pretty obscure...

This.
iOS certainly is not cheap and Android can be all over the place (though the Nexus line is helping there), and in both cases tech still seems to be rapidly advancing so something you spent hundreds on just two years ago when it was cutting edge may be no good for whatever new game hits. It's kind of like with PCs versus Consoles: you spent a lot on PCs to have a cutting edge experience, but you want consoles for a stable, guaranteed experience, and smartphones right now are sort of like PCs pretending to be consoles. And without AS huge of an advantage either in inputs (at least for specific games in the case of PC) or technical power.

Mind, I think this is more applicable if it were actually Type-0 itself, where you have to wonder why a PSP game couldn't have gone 3DS/Vita and perhaps PSN/XBLA/eShop at least in addition. As an entirely new game, well, we'll see, though SE's kind of stupid as hell with how they approach Android.

PS Mobile please. That way I can play it on my Vita instead of my Android phone.

No PS Mobile, no buy. Hope your mobile initiative bombs hard SE.

I am ready to not be able to play this if it comes to America due to not having the latest iPhone, iPod, or an iPad.

From the look of the game in the scan, it actually looks..... kinda good?!?!?

If the game does turn out to be good, as much as I would love using it for serious internet debate list wars about how SE is or is not really doing all that bad these days, I would at least like to be able to play it, Square-Enix.

I hope it at least plays well on the first Nexus 7. If it doesn't, well, that's my biggest problem with mobile even ahead of the button issue, it's like with late 90s PC hardware except it's taking the console developers I care about away rather than developers that were always dedicated to that platform anyway.

Don't assume that this will be awful because it's on mobile. Final Fantasy Dimensions is great, both Chaos Rings games are pretty solid, and the iOS port of Final Fantasy Tactics is really well-done. I'd also argue that the iPad port of The World Ends With You is even better than the DS version.

Not every S-E mobile game is All The Bravest or *shudder* FF4: The After Years.

But will it be localized is the real question.

There's three Chaos Rings games! :p
(with a fourth one coming soon)

Hopefully, their iOS localization track record is really good.

Out of curiosity, have they not localized any of their notable iOS titles?
I think there were a few Media Vision titles that got skipped over? I need to go check again.

It IS Final Fantasy though, so I figure it's more a question of "When" not "If", though I think if they can't be bothered to localize a high budget Final Fantasy title on the platform the whole world's going apeshit over then something is hopelessly FUBAR'd with SE.
