Dude, you think IGN is bad. Have you ever seen Jeux France play a Mario game?

What the fuck.
You bought them but haven't opened them?
You're aware that the Galaxy games are literally the highest rated games of all time, right?
Also, you can ride Yoshi in SMS.

My God.
Please make it stop
On a serious note, how do you catch the "bag/treasure" creature that leaves its footprints behind?
If you stay still a few seconds he'll come out of the sand. I tried hitting it with starbits once but they never worked and chasing him was worthless so I never tried again. What does it do? What is he carrying? lol

I disagree. Mario Sunshine was a by-the-numbers facelift to Mario 64 throwing in a waterpack and un-rideable Yoshi. It was also by far the most unpolished Mario game, 2D or 3D, ever. Hell, Sunshine is the reason why I never even opened SMG or SMG2 from their boxes and probably won't get 3D World. It was that disappointing.

It was risky for a Mario game stop trying to sound smart/snarky it was very different especially for the underperforming GameCube
You spin next to him, just that. That will knock him out and you can kick him. He carries tons of star bits.

I take it this game isn't getting the Galaxy treatment as far as the soundtrack is concerned? Would fit in with the low budget vibe given off with first party games so far.
The fact that you actually own SMG 1 and 2 and haven't opened either is mind boggling.I disagree. Reading through the comments in here made me realize that FLUDD is very similar to the tanooki suit in 3D Land.
True FLUDD keeps you at a set height as you hover, but I was thinking more hour it's like a platforming aid. And the cape was never in 3D Mario, right?
But... Clean is better than dirty. And dirt is meaner than clean...Sunshine was risky as in you spent the game cleaning goop, and allocated the system's resources to making the goop cleaning as impressive as they could.
So you had a weird, ugly Mario game whose premise is something people didn't really want in a Mario game.
I feel like I'm the only one who really liked Super Mario Sunshine.
It's seriously underrated.
Earlier in this thread, we were discussing Koizumi and Aonuma switching places, right? The former goes back to Zelda, and the latter tries his hand at a Super Mario Bros. game. Well, I stumbled upon this exchange in an Iwata Asks:
Koizumi: Aonuma-san, wanna switch with me on Super Mario Bros. sometime?
Aonuma: Hey, that sounds good Not!
Koizumi: I'll make the next Zelda game. Then you can enjoy playing it.
Aonuma: No way. (firmly)
Everyone: (laughs)
I found it amazing to see this even playfully discussed.
That quote was part of those discussions. It always is.
Btw, I don't think anyone wants or even entertains the idea of Aonuma making a Mario game. People just want Koizumi to direct Zelda again. Which he probably wouldn't do anyway since he's a producer now, like Aonuma.
I just realized it comes out next month. The very definition of a killerapp. There, i said it.
Just over a month away...
Sunshine is the only game I can't get into, I've tried at least five times. I LOVE Mario games but Sunshine doesn't do it for me. Galaxy 1 & 2 though.....oh man!
Personally speaking I had more fun with Sunshine than either of the Galaxy games, which to me were a bit too linear and going through the motions. Again, that's my personal preference. I value fun and simulation over continuity or what a Mario game should be.
The blue border? It's an indicator for when someone's falling behind, so you can either take it as a sign to slow down to let people catch up, or to speed up and let them die if you're playing to win...although from the videos it looked like you have a shared life counter so keep that in mind too.Played parts of the demo today, the game played really well and the car power up is fresh. Still dont understand why they was a distracting border around the screen though.

Don't think this site allows hotlinking, but some amazing new screens of 3D World

Goddamn! 3d World looks amazing. Almost enough to make me buy a Wii U.
Lol, I bought a Wii U just because of this trailer. I have been very critical of the Wii U up until recently. Wind Waker HD and Mario 3D World really pushed me to buy into the Wii U.
