So the press conference will be live streamed as well or is it just that the press can blog/tweet about it?

If so, which "press" is it good to follow?

This thread ? :)

Release new drivers that improve performance on a GTX 670 2GB tenfold.

Thanks.

I like the way this man thinks.

Don't bank on it. Not that I'm the one to blame when you kept up for nothing.

No worries, I know what to expect from these type of announcements. The excitement may as well be an excuse to stay up regardless of the outcome.

Wouldn't be surprised to see some SteamOS remarks, more VR support, low level API announcements, boasting about Tegra, and some 'our cards are awesome' talk.

I don't expect a new card announcement. Maybe they'll tease Maxwell again.

I was rather talking about the time it's starting. It's still possible that guru3D starts liveblogging in 45 minutes but the real presentations start 2 hours later. (Not that I have an idea what they would live blog about for 2 hours though)

Now that you mention SteamOS: What if the secret Asus/Nvidia joint venture is the first SteamBox?

I doubt anything significant will come of this.

NVIDIA today us has invited a group of media in Montreal for a two-day event built around "The Way It's Meant to be Played". If we may believe all promises impressive software and technology demonstrations will be shown. A live feed isn't hosted unfortunately, but at 10am ET / 7am PT we'll start LIVE blogging from the event and I'll try and make some snazzy photo's of course. So, if you guys would like to join us today and tomorrow, then keep an eye out in this news post where the updates will be made.

Nothing to see here. Just a private two day event for shits and giggles.

I hope nothing revolutionary is coming :p

Just bought 7950 Twin Frozr 3 and I'm pleased with it. It was the only 79xx that would fit my case - only about 2mm spare space for GPU left. :)
It overclocks pretty well - running stable 1150/1500 on stock voltage. Probably could get more but I can't really bump the voltage too much because I don't want GPU/VRM temperatures to exceed 80c and fan speed to be over 70%. It would be much better in a bigger, better ventilated case.

Well surely it is too early for next gen cards right? Maybe Titan ultra and price drops?

What's the likelihood on a Titan/780 price drop to counter AMD's 290x announcements?

I've got a 290x BF4 bundle preordered but might reconsider depending on what is announced.

Unless they did the deed with Intel, probably too early to show anything more than ideas. But AMD is clearly on the upswing at the moment, and Nvidia needs to counter. They've been reportedly developing some cool stuff that isn't really card related, so maybe they will drop whatever that is. I'd like to believe that's more than a special SLI connector. Respawn guy said he was excited, so maybe there's some Titfanfall promotion going to be unveiled. Then you've got the whole Steam partnership, where Nvidia is the chosen son at the moment.

Strange that it isn't being streamed.

Titan is not likely, it's a prosumer card that can do heavy 3D rendering in Maya, etc. that cheaper gaming cards can't.

780 depends on the R9 290x retail price. 770 we might see a $50-100 cut in line with R9 280 performance.

I think the #1 thing that needs to happen is a 770 price cut. The 770 is better than the 280, but not $100 better.

I don't think NVIDIA has to cut 780/Titan drastically or if at all. The 780/Titan and now 290 are the only real next-gen cards out there. They could probably go for a bit longer at current price points, even if 290 is a bit cheaper.

Yeah it all comes to 290x final price. If 290x performs better than a 780 and is priced competitively then Nvidia must react.

According to this,www.legitreviews.com/amd-show-radeon-r9-290x-video-card-montreal-tomorrow_126569, AMD is demonstrating the 290x today against 780s in Montreal.

Leaked benchmarks have the 290x outpacing the Titan, though just barely. That's why everyone was betting on a Titan Ultra to retake the crown. Maybe we will get something entirely different, like a dual GPU card with 2 780s on it.

It will be very difficult for this presentation to somehow be worse than AMD's recent presser. I have no confidence this won't be the case, though. Here's hoping for good stuff.
