Is the DS3 getting rammed?
Is this in Santa Monica, across the street from 3rd st. Promenade?

That loading time on Knack. I thought we were supposed to be doing away with this stuff.

From the start of the video, where Knack has already been selected to play, until the player actually got control it was over 1 minute.

On the last giantbombcast they quoted some guy who played on both consoles and he basically said both XB1 and the PS4 need SSD drives. Load times are way too long.

In case you guys wanted to check out some more Knack, Fifa 14 & Contrast footages, I managed to record them today:

The mechanics in Contrast look interesting. I'm glad we're getting it as a substitute for Driveclub+.

The loading time in Contrast was pretty bad as well.

You have 16x the memory to fill up, and the HDDs are the same speed, so even with mandatory installs, loading isn't going away anytime soon.

Although I hope devs can do some smart stuff like preloading some parts of the game while you're on the start screen etc.

It was 30 sec from when he selected the difficulty to playing the game. Even 1 minute from boot to game play is waaaaay better than GTA V or TLoU.

I really enjoyed that Knack gameplay!

I think with the delay of Watchdogs, I'll probably end up picking it up.

I was wondering though if there was more than one attack button? Do you unlock combos as you gain new abilities to shift into different materials?

I wouldn't take the demo builds loadtimes as measures for what the actual load times will be

I agree they shouldn't be as bad. Especially on actual final hardware, but I still expect load times. The one thing we can count on at least is being able to suspend a game and jump right back into it.

That build of Octodad that's on the kiosks is actually kinda old because we had to get it approved a while before they went out to stores.

If you want to checkout what that same level looks like now you can look at this quick-look video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YxKEnd6_f8

Also, let me know if ya'll have any questions about the game as I'm part of Young Horses.

Once it's loaded, you'll be able to put it in standby mode like the Vita and start it immediately next time you return :)

How much is is going to cost? And how long does it take to complete?

$14.99 is likely going to be the cost, but we don't have any official word on that yet. The playtime for an average player to complete the story will be about 4 hours.

Cheers! Will it have a MOVE control option, or 'if not' are there any plans to add that in the future?

Love the concept by the way :)

The sequel should be a jelly fish! Jellymum. lol

Oh right, thanks. I don't know how I missed that.

Have you got any plans for other games on the PS4?

Not currently. We're only a 9 person team so all our efforts are being spent on Dadliest Catch and the various platforms it will be on.

Our PC/Mac/Linux Steam launch will be sometime in January with PS4 following shortly after that.

Thanks for the update. Definitely getting Octodad on day 1, it looks hilarious.

That video of contrast is why it is hard for me to watch others play sometimes. It was frustrating watching him try to get on the horse shadows for 5 minutes. I'm like "look around!" Lol. Once he figured it out though I enjoyed what I am seeing of this game. Shame about Driveclub, but I look forward to Contrast now.

Saw one at the Roosevelt Field Sony Store... running Knack... and the latest iteration of FIFA... unimpressive to say the least... but the two kids playing the demos seemed to be having fun. That's still worth something, right?

The Knack one looks super old, as in the same as the very first playable demo that was ever shown. Someone noted that the demo even has frame rate stuttering at the same spots too.

I think they just put whatever was easily available onto these units to hurry and get them into stores. They'll likely update them as soon as they receive final builds of launch game demos later this month.
Oh ok thanks.

Just because my city (Detroit) is basically a 3rd world coutry, don't mean we should be deprived of this early preview of the PS4 tour, dangnabbit! I wantz to play too!

Well you can do 3 super moves dont know if you unlock more though.

Yeah, it was significant. I was surprised.

Oh my god. My roommate and I loved that video. Octodad is going to be hilarious!

The Knack load time was long but I chalk that up to being a demo build. I hope I'm right...

I got my hands on the PS4 controller, and I walked away impressed.

It feels very comfortable in my hands (not graint hands but large), the analog sticks do feel tiny and they are less stiff then the PS3/360 sticks. I didn't get to try the store display demo so I don't know how they do in action. But the triggers are perfect! I cant comment on weight due to the security bracket affixed to it.

Some dudes were playing FIFA 14 the entire waiting time (ugh), however, one did quit to the os menu, there was a bit of a lengthy load to the transition before titles appeared, had to have been at least or about 20 secs. Things looked smoothed.

Just played for the first time. MAJOR difference is the grip on the controller. Absolutely love the way it feels. overall much better than ps3 controller as it's bigger and the triggers are more like triggers HOWEVER they felt small. When i looked at them they def are a little smaller than they should. I wish the triggers were wider along with the L1 and L2. Sticks could have been a little bigger too but not as big of a deal as the triggers. They still felt good but it was the bigg weakness.

Update on FIFA which was the game I was most interested in trying. I was on the fence and after playing i was happy. The game is like a super high def super clear version of current. Player models also look bigger and everything just looks polished. Could it look better - prb but I was happy with what I saw PLUS the crowd was awesome and I like the ball boy and other guys running around during play. I'll be picking it up def.

My local Gamestop said that they'll basically be having a party on the 10th where people can come and play the PS4. So, it'll reach non-Sony stores by or around that time.

I just came from the Sony store in San Diego and tried out the PS4 (360 gamer here and didn't like the DS3). Everything they are saying is true. The controller fits good in the hands and the sticks feel as good as the 360. The trigger could be longer but has a nice grip and curve on them to prevent slipping. The L1 and R1 or bumpers as they're called on Xbox are a bit short and I found myself needing to slightly let me grip off the controller to press them with my fingertips otherwise it would be my second knuckle from the tip of my finger hitting it. The grip overall was really nice.

They displayed the games on 4k TVs which made them look horrible and aliassed. With Knack I thought I was playing a PS3 game until I ran into some very high poly backdrop cars in the stage. The game was kinda boring. The demo started at stage 7 and cut off pretty quickly. Played Fifa, had no idea what I was doing. Looked like PS3. Maybe ot was the TV. Played Octodad. Looked like PS3 bit the game was interesting.

Now I'm at the MS store a few stores down and the XB1 actually isn't THAT big in comparison. Maybe a little wider, for sure taller.

That's it. Nov 15 can't get here soon enough.
