RUMOUR: Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is 720p, PS4 version is 1080p?

Microsoft already said they didn't target the highest specs. Their box is more of an entertainment hub with great games rather than just a high end games box.

Why not both?

I don't believe it. sorry gaf

Seeing is believing. Can't see it? Someone is ready to count the pixels for you...seriously we have experts that literally count pixels in an image to derive resolution.

RIP GAF servers ;_;7
We are still alive!!!!

Launch games will fucking launch.

Just calm down, GAF. Just...calm..down.

True it is not how you start but how you finish, but if you are so far behind, can you ever catch up?

just catching up. yeah, seeing that. shucks.

720p vs 1080p isnt much of a big deal to me, so i'm fine with x1 this gen i guess (or rather, have settled for 720p). still cant believe a game as current gen as ghosts cant run at 1080p AND look better on both, but whatever.

Well it makes sense.

If the PS4 could boot up windows and install the PC version of a recent call of duty game, it should be able to handle running it at 1080p no problem, whereas in a similar scenario with the xbone, it would go to shit at anything over 720p.

The bone is probably technically capable of better, but devs are gonna have to perform programming tricks in order to use that esram effectively, and consoles are rarely used effectively at launch.

Man i still can't get over how unbelieved this all is could MS have mess up this bad .
Won't normally believe something that seem so out there but with bish comment look like all hell about to break lose .
Plus if X1 running into problems IW is last people you expect much from .

I consider my self a big xbox fan. Even thou I owned both ps360. But, If this shit is true and X1 Cant handle COD at the same resolution as PS4 I will really be out and taking many with me to PS4.

This is crazy! You are trying to tell me that the XB1 can't handle a new Call of Duty game properly? A game that from that IGN footage looks current gen.

And there is apparently even more problems??

Shocking news...

You are telling me the more powerful hardware really means something in producing better looking games?

No shit...

Its a console releasing nearly 9 (10?) years after its previous iteration and it can't confirm a shitty looking game to be 1080p. That's what is shocking.

Guys really. Wait for proof. You will feel so much better later.

Honestly, I think this whole thing is going to turn out false. While we get confirmation this thread is going to get pretty crazy though, so that's why Bish left.

Ami, can we get a "The age of Microsoft is OVER!" post? :p

I refuse to believe this is true. I mean... COME ON! X1 game running at the same resolution as a Xbox 360 game? Nope. Not believing it for one moment.

That's odd, the game is certainly not Next Gen. Poorly optimized it seems or the Xbox is evej weaker than we thought. (Doubt it because Ryse looks great)

I just have a tough time understanding how a console that can produce the visuals we're seeing from Ryse can't run a CoD game designed for current consoles at 1080p. This would make more sense if we were talking about BF4.

Maybe Infinity Ward just straight up effed up on the port? Even that doesn't make a whole lot of sense though because isn't the the XB1 architecture pretty much just an iteration on the 360 which they've been using for 8 years now?

Jesus man, you should have better standards. This is 2013 where all displays are TFT and 1920x1080 in resolution and basically any $200 GPU can run most games at that resolution @ 30 FPS smooth.

If the Xbox One seriously can't even do that, well...

Of course it can do that. Forza 5 is 1080p @ 60fps. However, it may be the case that the added complexity of the system architecture and the memory set up on the XBO causes it to be much harder to get a game properly optimized, and so a game like CoD which is being made for a hundred systems and is rushing to meet a launch deadline would not have as much time to get things right as the developers at Turn 10 who had much more time with the system architecture.

But yeah, I don't believe anything until we get a second source or a more verified final "yes" or "no", but it is worrying. All these sources are harmonizing on this news...

i prefer 720p

it has a softer, more filmic look to it

You must really love Alan Wake on the XBox 360 then.

Part of me wants this to be true just so I can see the backpeddling from Microsoft telling all of us it's about the games which is ironic considering Sony has been providing more of their own games than them in the past.

....i guess they will loose all the Cod player base if this is indeed true.
And im not joking...

No they won't, the competitive CoD scene is growing more and more each year and Microsoft has locked up CoD on Xbox as the official MLG FPS. Also, there are a huge amount of people who won't know/won't care about the resolution difference.
