Just incredible. I am more impressed with the engine sound in these clips. I would say the best I have heard in a racing game. Of course the graphics are amazing as usual. Also the sense of speed is amazing and looks really smooth.
 
Wait, so, the cars are real licensed? But they control arcadey/unrealistically? Or is it like GT?

Not big on racing, but I have to say, the environments make me want to exit the car and explore the world. Great job with the sceneries/lighting.

Gorgeous new footage. I don't even want to race, I just want to drive around at a leisurely pace and bask in the glory of those beautiful environments. Like Journey with cars or some shit lol.

I'm not a racing game fan (I'm atrocious at driving with a controller) so that's exactly how I'll be playing this.

Straight from the dev:
Lots of people say that that the handling is closer to PGR than GT or Forza, because it strikes a balance between the age old "arcade" and "simulation" archetypes, even though it's actually much deeper than that. The handling team refined the model again just this week - and will continue to do so up to release - so hopefully you'll give it a second go and get a better feel for it.

I kind of like the direction they are taking the handling. I would, of course, prefer sim but this seems to be the next best thing. Only thing I don't like is the roadside decor on some tracks. Looks like a goddamn carnival.

The coloured flags and stuff incidate the speed to take the turn.

Well they have made it pretty clear that 60 fps is not their highest priority. They'd probably want to meet their targets for effects before moving on to getting the frame rate up. Just because they haven't done it yet doesn't mean they have maxed out the hardware, right?

Looks great (although 'India stampede' suggested a but more animal action than was I that clip..)

The shadows on the left side of the track looked a bit odd though.

LOL. Who knows! Since it says Bandipur, India, they are not referring to Bandipur town, which is in Nepal. They are referring to Bandipur National Park, which is in Karnataka, India. The place is well known for its wildlife.

Looking delicious.
The Environments are especially nice. A lot of racing games make the surroundings look too fake and sterile, which imo takes away from the immersion of the game. Looking at the few clips of DC, the trackside looks quite gritty and lively, it just looks organic.

There is one member in each club whose specialization is to "design" their respective liveries. How they did it, is still up in the air.

Its looking better every single time its shown. Just hoping now that there are some long point to point races in the game. With views like the ones Driveclub has, it would be a shame if only lapped races were included (still dreaming of Stelvio Pass or part of Transfagarasan, but know its a long shot).

Custom liveries sounds awesome. This is actually getting me excited for a GAF club.

Did they say how many people can be in a club at once?

2-12. You can also be a "lone wolf" who can jump from club to club.

I wish the game would become a massive hit and turns into a competitive e-sports game. Clubs, managers, bidding for players, league championships, world cups etc

If doing whatever is necessary to hit 60fps meant pushing back towards the Gamescom demo, would we want that to happen? Personally I'm happier with what we're seeing now @ 30. Even though 60fps is of course highly desirable, it's only part of the package. If Evo had aimed for 60 from the start, maybe it would be a realistic goal, but unless the delay is due to them aiming for 60, and I don't believe this to be the case, 60 may be an ask too far for DC. Maybe not if there were a sequel.

EDIT: Perhaps the frame rate may end up around that shown in Killzone SP and run at 30 or unlocked at 30-45, in which case perhaps those concerned with frame-rates should be asking for locked 30fps rather than unlocked 30-45? Just a thought.

I thought they said the full race will be a direct feed.
Unless direct feed = PS4 share function.

IIRC, the Chile video was direct feed, captured outside of the PS4 Share function at 1080p. Gamersyde had an HQ 1080p version.

No, it's just that the Facebook maximum is 720p. Evolution has already said that the longer vid next week will be 1080p, and it will be output using the PS4 Share function.

They did say the longer video will be 1080p direct feed. However, I don't think that's via the share button. I don't think the share button does 1080p (or at least it hasn't been explicitly confirmed).

Being able to upload your own image to the game and adding it to our cars would be amazing. We should all have Banderas on our hoods. :)
Isn't there a (reasonably) low limit on members in a club? We are definitely going to need to have GAF A/B/C Teams. Tryouts and such are going to be a must. Also, weekly challenges to move into the A Team would be damn cool.

Multiple GAF teams doesn't sound like a bad idea as long as the OT for the game includes it.

Rather than GAF A/B/C teams, what about colors? Like NeoGAF Team Red or something.

I'm just throwing ideas out there.

My point was just that they shouldn't have said this is what they were going to target. I thought that was a bit of misdirection. We'll see if they hit it, but it really doesn't look like they're trying based on their improvements prioritization.

Personally I think the game looks incredible, but you know.

That's fair. They probably should have stuck by their guns (pedals?) and said it will be thirty because that's what it was designed for.

Incidentally, I see a lot of repeated questions in this and other DC threads. Rushy and co have actually answered a lot of these previously - maybe some diligent soul with more spare time than myself can collate the answers into some handy FAQ?

This is kind of why I think they still might pull 60fps out of the bag, They could have just said 30fps a long time ago, but they said they might get 60fps, if it was never an option that would be a ridiculous PR statement. They must be working towards the goal of 60fps even if thy don't think they can achieve it or why bother saying it. They made their own bed in this regard, they could have just gone down the NFS/The Crew route saying 30fps is fine for non simulation racers.

Anyway, I don't think they'l make 60fps, but they must be trying to at least to some extent.
