Quick translation from my end.
He previously gave KZ2 a 9/10 and KZ3 an 8/10 in secondary opinions.
Didn't they completely remove EXP from multiplayer? Not sure how that is chasing...

I get the feeling the game may have some 'stupid' stuff purely for spectacle. Like jumping onto that ship and riding around the city in the reveal level didn't seem to make sense.

The reviewer for this particular publication is a pretty big Killzone fan and reviewed all the previous games. For reference, he gave the first one a 9/10, the second one a 10/10 and the third one a 7/10.
I am tired of ur posts. Buy a pc and stay in the steam thread. You keep repeating the same argument every singlw thread.
Only normal people play on normal.
After reading the review I'm hyped. When your game looks this good I don't mind back tracking and a little path finding.
This.
I'd make it myself, but I'm about to be on my way to work.
This.Whoever is going to be free the next few hours should make a PS4 | Killzone Shadow Fall Review Thread and keep it updated. Otherwise it's going to get hard to follow.
"Phenomenal framerate"

Phenomal
Yes, I've played it. Was a great game, you unlocked certain weapons and abilities to move back and through previous sections before. That's good level design with intentional backtracking done right.
According to this review, a few parts of KZ:SF are not done well like that. That's his complaint. Not "It's not COD, this sucks".
It's something many modern shooters have abandoned, and I think it's actually a bad thing. Exploration and backtracking can actually make a level feel like more of real environment, rather than a virtual guided tour or theme park ride.
I accept that though usually i would want a meaningful reason to backtrack. Too many games force you to backtrack killing the same enemies you previously cleared out for some shitty objective purely to length the level.
Who plays normal these days. If I see hard unlocked I'm picking lol
still may keep xbox pre order
Generally I like to have more freedom in my games. It's simple really, this reviewer might not like that, but others do. It's an opinion after all. It's kind of dumb to bring down the score a lot just based on that though. I didn't read it since spoilers but I'm assuming from the negative points mentioned.
I can't wait to try it for myself.
Yup. I can't remember the last time I played on a difficulty other than the hardest available to me.

"Stupid"
What a weird adjective to use. It's not very descriptive. I don't know wha that means.

I like the sound of that, much more likely to pick up a PS4 now. Most shooters these days are straightforward, linear games which always push you forward. You're never left in a position of not knowing how to proceed.
It seems that, with this game, they've delivered much larger, open ended maps that have more in common with Deus Ex or even old school shooters (such as Doom). Wandering around a large space ship trying to figure out how to make your way through it while facing different types of gameplay along the way is much more interesting than following a singular, linear path.
Between the large, open map design, variety of options for engaging enemies (using the Owl, for instance), and an increased focus on stealth it really seems compelling to me.
If you LIKE linear shooters then perhaps this is of no interest to you but I'm thrilled by the change in direction here.
Someone should do a gif with banderas in low 15~20 fps mode , the he sees the "Phenomenal framerate" thread and he becomes 60fps amazed
still may keep xbox pre order, this was my most anticipated game if its not that good then i can wait =(

What I don't get about this review is that if the mechanics of the game are solid (gun play, graphics, framerate etc), why knock the score down like that over subjective things?
60 for MP, 30 for SP
Forza will get 9s.
Resogun will get some 9.
NBA 2K14 will get 9s.
ACIV and Battlefield 4 have already gotten some 9s.
You mean for cinematic sake? That's hardly something to knock.

The main reviewer gave those previous games those scores. The journo he was referring to only offered the second opinion score.

Even though 8/10 is not the greatest score for the new consoles graphical show piece the review actually has me more interested in this game mainly because its not just another corridor shooter.
Why does it seem like there are people in this thread who are actively hoping that the game won't be good?
It would be pretty shocking for Forza 5 not to clear a 90. Every mainline Forza title has.Sure, they'll all likely pick up some 7s too... ACIV and BF4 have picked up plenty. I'm just saying we should temper our expectations with these launch lineups, I'd be really surprised if any of them are able to maintain a 90+ on metacritic.
