Tearaway |OT| Super Iota 64

Well I just checked to see if this is the kind of site that just gives every big PS exclusive a high score, and the good news is that they don't. I don't follow this site or read their reviews so I don't know how good or trustworthy their reviews generally are, but at the very least I can confirm they're not biased. So far things are looking good.

PSLS is actually one of the best sites for PS news and reviews. Their editor call out bs when he sees it and reviewers don't hesitate to be harsh when a game sucks. They got banned years ago iirc, but my experience reading them has always been excellent.

Stoked to see they gave Tearaway a 9/10.

I wouldn't trust that site, the last review I read from them was MGR:R and they somehow gave it 3/10.

They are dead to me.

Those who have played this, is there any chance of a PS4 port?

For the record, I'm getting it on Vita...but I'd be curious to know just how much stuff like touch and the camera play a role.

Sony could do some clever things like instead of using the back touch pad, you could use the front touch pad on the DS4.

I just think the game isn't going to do as well as it should, and having a PS4 version would help tremendously I'm sure (plus 1080p60 would be great)

Highly unlikely. One of the most frequently demonstrated features of Tearaway is using the back touch to show the player's fingers bursting up into the game world - switching that to the PS4 touch-pad wouldn't make a lick of sense. The entire conceit is that you're holding their world in your hands, and that entire deal would be lost by putting it up on your TV instead.

This game looks fantastic. If I hadn't just bought a Wii U for Mario World, I would buy a Vita over a PS4 and an Xbone just for this game.

This game is amazing. I've played about half an hour so far. The game has an incredible amount of charm. The graphics, art style, music and interactivity are fantastic.

The game looks very smooth (no jaggies) in game on the Vita and the framerate is great.

A few pics:

Very nice collection of screenshots thanks for sharing!

Really excited, hope they mess up and release early digitally :p

Embargo is up soon, when possible can someone discuss thoughts on how repayable it is?

Oh yeah <3

So after about an hour or so on the train, having obtained my first ability (jump), really loving this game.

The paper world that has been created is amazing and is just so smooth in motion.

The concept of the game is brilliant and love how they keep "You" in the story, a couple of times it was so seemless I initially didn't see You/myself.

Something that I also found funny, on a crowded train, sat on the stairs with a kid sitting on them above me, playing away and a couple of times when the camera was on facing me I could see the kid looking over my shoulder only to look away when he realised what was happening

That's awesome! I once played Gravity Rush for 2 hours straight on a flight, and the random kid sitting next to me literally watched the entire time!

0 chance. It uses the front and rear touch and both cameras pretty much constantly.

Why are all of these tearaway gifs and screenshots so beautiful?!! Can not wait to have this game in my hands, but unfortunately I still have nine more days until physical release on my side of the world.

Edit: Avatar ready too :)

Payment is normally dealt with around two days before launch so everything is fine.
I also can't download the game.

I preordered about 4 days ago. 2 days ago they tried to collect payment, but I had auto-funding off so it was denied (was no money in my wallet). Yesterday it tried to fund again and was successful, so I could download today.

It should hopefully go through with the payment in the next 24 hours or so. It does seem a bit strange how the system prioritises preorders though.

Maybe it has to do with region, I'm in Australia and we get it tomorrow.

The payment is clear and the file has been DLed *happy* Glad everything worked out. Normally I pre-order stuff on the PS3, this time I tried this on the vita and wasn't sure how it works. Does the vita turn itself on or is that not necessary?

As for the game, I almost know nothing about it besides a few screenshots, one or two trailers and some early previews. This was a deliberate choice early on after it got announced. It looked like a charming game that shouldn't be spoiled with too many details. The hype has started though :p

Not sure if this has been answered, is the game native resolution?

I went a little overboard in putting together my review for this game. *heh* I sat there trying to write it the normal way, and it just wasn't working. So, I ended up going a somewhat different route.

Media Molecule games are just a bundle of joy in. Their character and world designs are just infectiously adorable beyond anything.

Reviews looking good! :D
Decided to pre-order digitally in the end seeing it was cheaper digitally and wasnt really so big (memory wise) and I'm ordering zelda 3DS XL the same day, so don't really want multiple things to come at the same day.
Finally managed to download tearaway on vita today after it took money from my account this morning, was hoping it'd start, but nope, ha ha, had little hope tbh, but oh well.
Can't wait to play it!

Can someone who has played the game please tell me if the controls can be customized? The square button on my vita doesnt work. i think square is used for grab or something important like that, so if i cant change the controls i'm pretty much fucked.

Honestly, I expected mixed reviews. GJ Mm. Cant wait for Tearaway to arrive in my country :D

To be honest I was expecting rather average reviews, like mostly 7s and 8s. I love being surprised like this.

Apparently this game got such great review scores that I'm gonna buy it physically !! I buy the special ones physically so I can always remember :)

IGN review mentioned it took about 5 hours to finish it... :(

hmmm..I didn´t time my playthrough 100%.. but I think I used 8-9 hours (but I also collected some stuff and fooled around) for my first playthrough.Used 20-30 hours to 100% the game. I could probably run through the game in around 2-3 hours now, if I skip everything and never stop.
The thing is (for me at least), the length of the game feels just right. No filler stuff or drawn out missions.. just pure gaming bliss.. BUY IT GUYS: ;o)

Got my copy pre-ordered on PSN. I'm not big on platformers but this looks too good to miss.
That's what everyone said about every other smash Vita hit. I'm so overwhelmingly shocked that this reviewed any kind of well.
Vita Saved? xD But seriously...

Fantastic reviews so far - congrats MM, great job! :)

If I had the money I would get it day 1, but with PS4 and other stuff pre-ordered this month it doesn't look like I'll make it; will follow this thread though and read what Gaffers think about this charming gem

Yup, especially seeing as this is a vita exclusive. Even if it did get mixed reviews or not, I had a feeling this would be a top game to play on my vita, just like when I saw GR first time :)

Tearaway time cant come soon enough!

Amazing reviews! Just got my copy this afternoon. Only played about 20 minutes, but it's already... so beautiful *wipes away tear*.

Maybe it's another case of ingame timer not being the same as the real playtime? Some reviewers really just look at those timers instead on their watch, happened with Killzone: Mercenary.
