It's going to be rough getting used to the Sony ecosystem again. Taking down code redemption on the day of PS+ sales? Really?
Is it definitely disappearing on the 1st or is it like Club Nintendo where games linger around a few days?

Digital Distribution IS the future. :/ I know I am pretty jaded with DD already, but physical copies without all that crummy drm never had problems like these. Stuff like this will always come up and will never be totally smoothed out like people say. Even steam is not the end all be all. It still had crummy restriction on going offline for so long, verifying purchases & updating games.scan still be pretty wobbly, especially them selling an edited version of GAY: Vice City and not telling anyone.

That's the thing, I was almost considering buying Bioshock Infinite for $14. I think amazon has it for 20, but at that point I might just wait for the goty edition hopefully with all the dlc.

Yeah, PSN still isn't in the same class as XBL. Maybe all of the money we just spent on PS+ will help with that. For now I just have to accept that I bought the better multi-plat console but gave up having the best online mechanism to do so.
Nope. Just entered it once using that method and it went through.

So if you got locked out for repeated use, it's exactly 24 hours? I'm hoping calling SCEA might help with a fix, but we'll see.

You can through account management, but if you tried too many times through the store(which I did), it'll probably result in a 24 hour lock out.
Seems to be 50/50 for people who go through the PS3, goes into the Account Management, and redeems.

I just don't get it. You would think they would put substantially more money into beefing up and securing their network infrastructure after they were down for an entire month.
It's too bad, as I love everything else about the PS4. But without a reliable network back end, the thing is a brick. Microsoft has had this stuff on lockdown since 2002. FFS, Sony.

Not sure I understand the logic in suspending the redeem voucher functionality. Was there an issue with people's codes redeeming but not them not getting the subs, credit, etc?

Yes, this is exactly what I'm thinking. I redeemed ACIV digitally without any issues. Come back about an hour later with a Battlefield 4 code and all this shit happens.
Just makes me think Sony doesn't know what the hell they're doing.

Calm down, your code isn't going to dissolve at midnight. The weekend of the NA launch there were tons of things down and not working, but it was sorted out. Be patient.

I'm willing to give Sony time to get this sorted out but they better still have Resogun out at zero cost. That was one of the main reasons I bought the system now instead of waiting until February or March.
Some people want to game a certain time, especially the weekend considering work, school, etc. I don't have all the time in the world, which explains my rage, but I guess that's my fault.

Eh, whatever gaming sites that tend to treat Sony with the kid gloves right now just because MS' infractions are still fresh in memory have to have new news to report beyond the usual sales reports following the BF and Euro launch holiday weekend. Let's wait until the honeymoon is over when there is little new to play in the post-launch drought and the cold reality of having them in-hand meets the expectations of the hype built up over the year. I'm sure they'll be back to normal by end of weekend if they aren't really fucked. Whatever the case, Sony needs to step their shit up as PSN has always felt a bit ghetto compared to Live, IMO, and even a bit moreso now that it is compulsory on the Sony side for online play.
While I find it annoying I might miss out on some games. I can't imagine the people that bought a PS4 this weekend only to find out they can't upgrade PS3 games or use PS+ cards to play online. Paying $400 for a system and not being able to use one of it's main functions over a long vacation weekend has to suck.
