"If 3 championships in 4 years isn't enough to keep you from being an asshole, the hole inside you is probably too big for college football to fill."

Pretty much. CFB is cyclical, so you have to enjoy being on top while it lasts.

Curious to see how the team reacts in the bowl game... if it is 2008 all over again, or something more like 2010.

Why does Oklahoma State lose to some shitty team during their great seasons? You guys are on a path to becoming a meme like Clemson.
Eh, I'm not really that upset. Without losing to WVU we wouldn't have corrected many of the issues that plagued us early in the season.

Best-case scenario for us next weekend:

Beat OU
tOSU loses to MSU
Auburn loses to Mizzou
FSU loses to Duke (ok, that's not happening)

That would probably leave the polls at:

1. FSU
2. Mizzou
3. Bama
4. OSU

I'd like to think we'd jump Bama, but I'm realistic.

@pat_dooley: Just talked to Urban Meyer. Said 1st thing his team will do at practice is work on defending FG return. He was serious.

Saban's press conference seemed to show that the thought of it being returned never even occurred to him, which seems weird.

Btw, I think we're getting our wish after the next game. Flood's staff buyout numbers were leaked right now for a reason.

People just needed proof Saban isn't perfect. Attempting that FG was as dumb as Michigan going for two.

Doesn't really matter because Bama probably would have lost in OT anyway. Offense wouldn't have gotten it done even if the defense was able to hold Auburn to FGs.

well yeah you'd just miss your own field goals :p
also roflmao at Sagarin's "predictor" rating having NIU 49th but 2nd in elo

edit: also Auburn is 6th not 7th in Sagarin, that's Bama

I got grudge sucked!
We will get rolled by FSU and whatever SEC team we play in the bowl. Don't give a fuck.

gif for the new thread. I think it will be a rain cloud following Cut next weekend so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Looks like operation vote NIU down is about to be in full effect. I imagine UCF will jump them next week regardless assuming we beat SMU. That keeps NIU out and all but solidifies the American champ going to the Fiesta bowl instead.

Edit: That Joe Giglio guy has UCF ranked #9 on his ballot....

loooooooooool Detroit Free Press guy has OSU 8th, sour grapes.

Oh look! He called us Tattoo U on twitter! Real professional, why do these guys get a say again in a poll? (regardless if its a meaningless poll or not.)

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
So, will OSU's win over a #10 team be enough to keep them ahead of Auburn if they win over the #5 team?

I'm going to say no. It's going to be fascinating to see what happens. I'd like Auburn to pass them just for the laughs.

Win, they're in. Ohio State will not be passed. I'll joke, but I just can't see the voters moving a 1 loss team ahead of an undefeated team from the Big Ten, even if popular opinion is the league is down. Florida State and Ohio State control their own destinies, no doubt in my mind.

Pease is out. Tim Davis probably out (no solid confirmation until 2:30pm). Allegedly Muschamp wanted to keep Pease but Foley overruled.

If it's true about being overruled, I have zero confidence that our offense will crack the top 100. Unless Muschamp was just being loyal and knew Pease was fired regardless. And in the case Foley intervenes directly in the hiring, whomever we get will be like another Weis who thinks he's above the head coach and that'll lead to friction. Add that to the fact that unless Muschamp changes his Zookish philosophy of getting a 1 point lead in the first quarter and running out the clock, we're screwed.

Im trying to figure out why he got banned. He only posted in this thread, sure he said dumb things, but none of it was ban worthy.

OSU can't have 2 undefeated seasons in a row and not be in, is my opinion. I think AU/FUS may be the more entertaining game, but FSU hasn't been challenged yet beyond Clemson where tOSU does have Wiscy, Meatchicken and Sparty.

Unfortunately I don't think Duke can help FSU, at least in perception. If they make a game of it, then FSU looks weak. If FSU blows them out, then FSU still hasn't played anyone since Clemson. If Auburn wins, could it be an Auburn/TOSU championship? I don't think thats likely, but who knows.

Did a double take at this. Tim Davis was also the name of one of the professors I had at UF.

Well, it's good that he has a fallback plan, I guess.

Duke is an unstoppable juggernaut and a formidable opponent. Florida State will be lucky to escape with a 30 point win.

I regularly include CISE profs in my coaching updates. I know my audience. :)

He came in (or came back) right after I left. Heard good things about him though. Even if sparse matrices are the devil.

The coach Davis is our OL coach. I wouldn't let him teach me how to put on a helmet.

So can we conclude that the ACC is every bit as bad (arguably worse, IMHO) than the B1G this year?

Credit to FSU for blowing everyone out (save for BC) while we struggled almost every step of the way, but their schedule is every bit as garbage as ours.

Who cares about SOS? As long as both teams win next week they're going to play each other anyway.

Yeah too much crapping on the Big Ten, and not enough on the ACC. I like to believe as well Wins by FSU and tOSU will result in both going to the Title game.
