IGN: "You can see this difference more clearly in this new video."
Wait, so that would be a place admitting you can see the resolution differences? I thought I wasn't going to notice unless I sit right on top of my TV?
People can debate whether or not resolution matters to people, but the idea that some people and even some journalists have argued that the resolution differences aren't noticeable is what makes me laugh. Why bother comparing the two if you're incapable of doing so? Some places should come clean at some point or another, but integrity and accountability seem to be rare commodities these days in the industry.
It's just so weird that we've went from resolution mattering last generation with more miniscule differences to either not being discernible today even though the differences are even larger or not being worthy of a discussion because people won't care. You thought people cared last generation (plenty did) yet now they don't? It's especially important early in a console's life-cycle because people are still making up their minds and won't be entrenched in one console's ecosystem so much that they'll have no choice but to not care.
Definitely not crying myself to sleep over it...It just boggles my mind how we go back and forth on what matters or not depending on who's in the better position or who the journalist prefers. Some genuinely won't care about resolution, but their job is to inform people if they're reviewing it, especially if they're the ones that compare the two.
Not everyone will care about resolution in the end, but it's disingenuous to do what some sites have done. Reviews have always been subjective obviously, but when we turn objective facts into subjective commentary, there's a problem.
