Official PES Twiter: " you can expect to see PES 2015 on your PS4"

Why does he wear the mask!?
Been disappointed too many times to shell out for both PES and FIFA this year, PES will have to be seriously good for me to buy it. Nothing could beat PES6 in its day.

PES has never given a solid, stable online experience, and its a damn shame.
Pes14 is the last time you burn me konami.

As PES player i was blown away with FIFA14, when did FIFA get this good? :0

Superior to PES in every way.

Going PS4 only is either a fanboy pipe dream, or spoken by somebody who doesn't understand how similar the two consoles are compared to their predecessors.

Porting between PS4 and Bone is borderline trivial. PES will come to both systems unless Sony money hats, which makes zero sense for a football game with no complete FIFA license or being historically even half as good as their competitor.

FIFA 14 is fantastic and clearly has mindshare at this point. The real question is if Konami will dedicate the necessary resources to compete, which given the overall quality of their games in recent years, does not appear to be much.

Breaking news, porting from PS4 to XB1 is trivial. Porting from an OpenGL based language to DirectX based is trivial. Porting from 1.8Tflop GPU to 1.3Tflop GPU is trivial.

And last but certainly by no means least, Porting from 5-6GB of Ram at 176gb/s to 5GB of ram at 68GB/s and a 32mb Esram Cache is trivial.

Seriously, it's not trivial, as well as porting the game, there are additional costs such as licensing, QC,QA, Servers, Legal costs, Boxart, Liasons. None of these costs have been reduced by the hardware being more alike.

Ubisoft claim it costs around $1.3million for a WiiU port and I have no reason to question that number is similar for XB1:

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...says-wii-u-ports-costing-under-USD1-3-million

To quote IGN:

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2006/05/06/the-economics-of-game-publishing

'Wholesalers typically pay around $30 per game and with the costs of getting the goods to the wholesalers, any co-op advertising or marketing, and return of good contingencies being roughly $14 per game, the publisher is going to typically get $16 for every unit sold.

With simple Maths:

1.3million/16 = 81250 units.

So to recoup the initial investment they would need to sell 80k+ on XB1. As well as any additional Costs, so Does it seem likely to you that PES would be profitable on XB1?

Considering that PES is a PS associated Franchise and Sales are heavily skewed away from the US, it seems to me that PES would likely just about Break even on XB1 and in fact drag down the ROI.

No Wii U play control version? If so, at least make the PS4 version support the Move controller (is that even possible?)

Is this real, before this gen it was PES that was regarded as the best footie game, PES4 is imo still the perfect footie game, this comes from someone who absolutely loathed PES this gen and made Fifa his primary footie game. Fifa during PS2 times wasn't even close to PES. They started turning things around with Fifa 06 and Fifa improved considerably while PES got worse with each iteration this gen. But to say Fifa being historically the best is not even close to the truth. The only thing Fifa got was its Fifa license due to EA's big pockets.

Also Sony did have its own exclusive football games, it had the FIFpro license

Before 2009 the last good FIFA game was in 1998.

FIFA was fucking appalling during the PS2 era. Infact FIFA was worse then than PES is now, relative to the competition, so it's absolutely possible that it can switch again like it did before.

I actually miss a lot of the "other" football games that we don't get anymore. This is Football, Actua Soccer, Ronaldo V Football, Three Lions.. I mean not all of them were good but some of them at least offered different things.

There's only two ways for this to make sense, you're either 13 or you are 35 and really miss playing football games on arcade cabinets.

Not for me.

I think the defensive AI is a joke, there's not enough fluidity or movement in attack and it's just a laborious and cumbersome experience if you're playing with anyone below the top bracket of teams. Like playing with a team of Carlton Cole's.

Oh, and the bullshit lobbed through ball over the top has been dialled up to 11 this year online. Ultimate Team is borderline unplayable.

Definite regression in my opinion. FIFA has been the dominant football game for the last 5-6 years but it's not beyond another turn around. Intrigued to see what Konami can do. That said I'm not abandoning FIFA any time soon. They seem to hit the spot every other year I think.

Ultimate team is not "borderline" unplayable. Defenders (slow ones at that) are much more better and usable this year, players like Hummels, Vidic or Terry are actually useable in competitive play which makes for a wider range of options than your fifa 13 Santana, Luiz, Kaboul combo. Go play a game of fifa 13 UT or watch a video and compare to FIFA 14, 13 UT was so fast that it's actually unbelievable.

Yes the lob through ball epidemic is as strong as ever but you track the striker run with your defender and clear the lob with a header. I don't really have a problem with lobs and crosses (hell, everyone tries to cross all games) my problem is with lag (for a game in this day and age to be p2p is a disgrace, specially the size of FIFA) and the random bullshit that happens in this game too much.

I guess it can get really frustrating in attack if your opponent is on ultra defensive all game, i'll give you that.

As for PES 15, I really hope they come up with something really good, vintage PS2 PES is still the best football game ever made.

Does EA have an exclusive license on Football teams? Because PES would be so much better if it had the official names.

Yeah, the "lob" pass is a FIFA problem for nearly a decade, but the keeper AI is way better than in PES. These 2 things deflated the great impression I had with PES14, because it really is a great football game but if you play it for months its getting really annoying.

FIFA 14 career mode on the PS3 is a nightmare. The menus run at sub 10fps. Really pisses me off. Still put 3 seasons in though hahahahhaah....:')

Yeah, in an ideal world 2k would aquire the FIFA licence and realease the game we all deserve.

Oh god, the game would look good and presumably play good but with the current state of 2k online servers, hell no. NBA2k14 is possibly one of the worst online experiences i've ever had. That is, when i'm able to actually connect and get a game.

I've read this post a few times but can't make any sense out of it. Is this a reference to a meme like the "square just shot themselves in the foot"?

PES got shitty because they wanted yearly releases not because they went multiplatform.

They chase money like every annualized game ever and like every annualized game ever it lack that final polish.

I still prefer to play PES5 than any other new pes. Even with those shitty animations core of gameplay is simply there.

Nothing interesting about it, people mistakingly assume their Twitter actually know their heads from their assholes.

They don't.

Yes.

Doesn't matter, we have option files.

When does the license run out?

Yes, but Konami find ways to license certain competitions/leagues and can get round things that way. They still come in way behind FIFA regardless, but Option Packs are widely available and are the best bet (avoid the ones that charge, as you should be able to find one for free), as they ensure you have all the correct names/logos.

I'll be pissed if PES2015 doesn't come to X1 this year though, as I'm not 100% set on getting a PS4 this year and I prefer PES over FIFA. If it's a one year thing due to lack of resources, I can wait, but if it continues, then fuck Konami and the franchise.

Raging Spaniard

If they are Dutch, upright and breathing they are more racist than your favorite player
Excited for the game, I prefer PES passing, shooting, defending and dribbling to FIFAs

Dunno how ps4 is going to improve their HORRIBLE online code, licensing, patching process, marketing, feature system, UI, commentary and customer support though.

Thing with Pes is, They don't seem to move with the times, I am predominantly a Pes guy, Love the player cam as it adds so much immersion too the game, But Pes 2014 was so awfull its untrue, New engine is all well and good and was pretty nice to look at, But the lag the game had offline/online was unacceptable, We all know they haven't the license's and will editor files will they be as easy on new consoles?

The lack of depth in ML was embarrassing, All it was, was forward to next game, and repeat, It was like playing the first Pes on the 360 all over again.

Fifa 14 is my first fifa in years and on the ps4 its none too shabby, Nice having all the teams etc, Typical Fifa tho with the CPU on your team being dumb as hell, Playing against the CPU is boring as all they do is still to this day cross the ball for a headed goal which was the same in Fifa 10.

Pes has it all to do Next-Gen otherwise I can see them cancelling the series if they don't impress out the block, Fifa 15 will be nothing extravagant but will sell with its gimmicky catchphrases like tilt control, Full precision etc.....

I dunno if I'll have enough money to spare for a second football/soccer game this year after I buy the inevitable FIFA World Cup 2014 in the summer.

Cant really say anything about this, as I only play FIFA14 on PS4, where it runs at 60fps.

Yeah, their servers are a nightmare at the moment, but I'm talking more about the game itself. I think that FIFA and PES are both very mediocre football games and that another approach is needed to really come close to football. PES14 with its new animations and physics is pretty close, but AI and the way a game runs is just wrong.

You stole this post from my head. I really doubt that its coming to any other next gen platform but the ps4. A cost-benefit analysis would lead to the conclusion that it was not worth it. Even seasoned and experienced developers are having issues with the Xbox one then we expect an almost incompetent PES team to release a good product. They had problems with the PC version of PES 2014 which was sad to see. They programming skills are whack and all the AI code was running on one core. They do not know how to efficiently program for multiple cores so I expect them to have problems with a ps4 version talk less of an Xbox one version. I doubt they'll even bother.

Yep. Why on earth should Konami resign on the sales they could gather with Xbox family? Games like this from companies like this will never be exclusive to on e system.

Not to mention FOX Engine was developed in part to make multiplatform development easier.

This and the fact that producing an engine costs immense R&D money, so that investment needs to be profitable. Metal Gear, Castlevania and PES need to be multiplatform.

But I think Konami Japan better outsource PES to a European studio, that might be the way to come back.

The quality of Konami games went downhill when they decided to put games on Microsofts machine.

Kojima wasn't too happy was he?

If so, why Kojima wants to release MGSV on the evil Microsoft machines? He still can keep them as PS3/4 exclusives...

Konami was/is/and will be a multi-platform companies.

Back to PES, its downhill was due to Konami didn't improve their engine/gaming design and another big reason is EA made some huge improvements in FIFA since 2009.

It is Konami's issue. Why do you want to blame to Microsoft and Xbox.
