AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Controls flawlessly on the Dualshock 4, vibration works and everything. This game feels like the reason I bought a DS4 for my PC.

A slightly offtopic, but I feel I'll get the answer here the fastest:

That borderless window program works great with Rising, but in some games (for example Tomb Raider) when I press F3, I still see windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Any way to fix that?

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.

You really need to learn how to parry properly when you play Hard and above or you're going to get your ass kicked, generally.

Most of the attacks the first Metal Gear uses the second time you fight him can be parried, the only option if you can't parry is to try and dodge / jump but that's a lot less reliable.

Which ones can be parried? Is there any way to see that?

Oh man, I am really loving this game. But now I can't play because my kids just got home from school, wah. The only downside to comfy couch PC gaming. Early bedtime for the MakeshiftChef household tonight!
I'm totally kidding about making them go to bed early. Just a shame it is raining and cold out or I'd make them go play ouside, lol

What are you using that gives you rumble?

So I'm playing this on my laptop with the display fed out to my TV. When I try to switch to full screen, it says the resolution isn't supported. But it totally is.

What gives?

Might be counting your tv and laptop together as on display. Try running it windowed, or close your laptop.

Run at solid 60FPS all settings at full MSAAx4 AFx4

But in Zangeki mode FPS drop as low as 29FPS. Anyone else have that problem?

CPU: Intel I7 930 2.8 OC'ed @ 4.1Ghz

How did you manage to activate DS4 with the game, including vibration? I tried with USB cable, and game didnt recognize it.

Did you use some X360 gamepad emulator?

This is actually 100% what I predicted. People talk about Japan doesn't know how to port/program for PC but there's something way more basic about stuff like this. My hypothesis of the design mentality of West vs. East is that Western devs will make a game, then port it to whatever platform they want (console/PC/whatever), but in the East development is like, "We're making a game FOR the PS3." This allows better use of the console's potential, but they simply don't imagine a scenario where the game is intended to be played outside of the console, so they often come up with dirty shortcuts (like locking UI elements to ABSOLUTE COORDINATES as seen above) and when something like this comes up they have to weigh the advantages of going back and fixing stuff like this (and possibly breaking other things elsewhere) or releasing a gimped version as-is.

This is just my personal opinion and does not include the opinions or facts of my employer or Platinum.
As an employee, who decides what game to release to the PC?

For example I find MGR:R to be a "novelty" game (spin off with combat gimmick), but I'm glad that a Metal Gear game is now on the PC. However, I'm more interested in MGS5 being on the PC instead, especially when their tech demo was running on a pc.

:)

Video files are taken from PS3 version, they are very nicely encoded.

So are you saying the actual game is only 2GB?

It's running windowed now. When I try to go full screen my TV goes black and it gives me that no support message, but I'll try closing my LT.

Just beat chapter 2. Man, the combat is so incredibly satisfying, especially parrying. And the bosses are super fun to fight against. I could play this all day!

Game works 100% perfect for me.

i5-2500k
GTX 780
8 GB Ram

60 FPS constantly, 1080p full screen, 8x MSAA. Looks and plays perfectly

Annoying issues:
-Screen tearing (forcing V sync should fix)
-Mouse cursor never goes away on menus and codec, probably related to stupid Steam overlay

On KB&M, during Blade mode swiping the Mouse in a specific direction instantly does a slash in that direction. It takes a while to get used to but if mastered can lead to accurate slashes very quickly.

Yeah, there is MGR, DMC3/4/DmC and ... Garshasp? Am I missing any?
Some indie titles like Rain Blood Chronicles and Valdis Story. Castlevania Lords of Shadow is another one if you want to go 3D. Also Darksiders 1 and 2 are solid action adventure games.

Do me a favor and turn off Blur. My zangeki FPS improved greatly when I turned that off. I want to see if that's infact a means to improve performance.

I don't exactly remember the fight, but I believe that anything but the missiles can be parried, so the arm sweeps and the head attack you can parry just fine. Missiles are pretty easy to avoid / destroy.

Uuh, looks like Rising doesn't work at all if your internet goes out or if you put Steam in offline mode. That seems... odd.

Eh, game's running fine on my rig performance-wise, but there have been some bugs:

when you run after the bald dude who kidnapped the president they got stuck on the ground around half way to the end. took me a while to figure that I could proceed regardless

then during the second fight with the first boss, after I jumped the missiles and was supposed to land on some clocktower (I think,) Raiden got somehow thrown into the background, dude was literally laying in his back in a low-res cardboard city backdrop, unable to do anything. Restarted from last checkpoint and the game froze.

Game seems pretty fun so far but holy shit if it's going to be buggy like that the whole time through.

Using a new 15 inch macbook pro retina (the cheaper model of the two) and it runs 60fps once I turn off antialiasing. Runs awesomely, still looks great.

Plays amazing with the DS4.
