Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC Version |OT| Violence Breeds Violence

Well aside from the fact i cant get past 1680x1050 on my 1080p TV, this game is pretty awesome. Taking down the first Gear melted my mind at 60 fps

Maybe this will work. Go to the properties of the .exe file and go to the Compatibility tab and check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings."

Only two known ways right now, make a custom resolution (this will make your game blurry) or get a program called WindowedBorderlessGaming and run in a window. Neither are ideal. Platinum themselves needs to fix this. Now.

The game won't get blurry if you make a higher res instead of 1919x1079, tested it myself.

I set my desktop res at 3200x1800 and launch the game, works fine :)

Hmm... so then its an HDMI issue with the game?

Then there are these guys with the HDMI issue using AMD as well. Has Platinum Rep commented? I really dont want to have to go digging for wherever I put that DVI cable.

This guy seems to think it's HDMI related, judging from his tweets.

Your desktop and steam overlay will be blurry if you do this though, so it's still not ideal.

Just finished the game on Normal on PC. Decided to run the game at 720p for the whole thing just to keep the resolution from getting wonky.

Amazing game from start to finish, very much looking forward to playing the Jetstream Sam DLC. And I guess the Bladewolf DLC.

I had a glitch happen from time to time where the minimap would be rendering too far to the left, and when I would pause the game, the shadows on the text were a bit farther away than they were supposed to be. It happened several times, and changing the resolution would fix it.

The overlay scales properly if you're using big picture though.

I agree it's not ideal, but better than playing at 24hz while they don't fix it.

Having some framerate issues on my 6950 with unlocked shaders. Turned down MSAA and AF. not terrible, but its not solid 60fps especially during the ray boss at the beginning.

for people saying its running perfectly , it would be helpful if you posted what monitor you are using since that seems to be a big part of the problems.

I don't really know much about computers (this one was built for me by a friend), game runs but it's not hitting 60fps (getting close though), even at 720p in windowed mode with blur turned off and most of the other stuff set at medium. Is that even possible on my setup?

AMD FX-4100 quad core
8 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 580

EDIT: using one of those silly PlayStation branded monitors because I got it on the cheap.

No luck.

Anyway i can fake it if i run at 1080p in windowed mode and turn on my TV overscan, but really 1680 res doesnt seem too different from 1080p as far as i can see.

Runs 60fps maxed on;

gtx 770 2gb OC'd
i74770
16gb ram

Also, WHY IS THE MOUSE CURSOR PRESENT IN MENUS WHEN USING CONTROLLER AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. They need to fix that. It bugs the hell out of me.

*MGR friendslist*

It's beautiful.

Yeah that mouse cursor is frakkin annoying, but damn I just played for 6 hours straight and had an amazing time. Played on hard mode, the music is amazing, boss fights are awesomesauce, I've been listening to tons of codec calls, it's MGS all over again!
Defeated Monsoon and decided to take a break. I will finish this game tomorrow.

And yes seeing your friendslist all playing MGR is beautiful. I hope it sold a lot.

I would turn number of peices or whatever it is called down to low and you'll probably be able to turn some of the other stuff up. Your GPU is good but the CPU isn't too hot unfortunately.

If ever there was a game that didn't need slow-moving walking and holding your hand to your ear parts, it's this game right here.

I had a pretty weird bug fighting one of the choppers, I hit it with a surface to air missile while it was firing its 'zandatsu opener missiles' and Raiden teleported above the chopper and floated there for a couple of seconds. Bizarre. Anyway I fell to earth eventually and I split into a trillion pieces.

Yeah, it's to disguise loading, but I'm so glad I've run through this game a bajillion times and don't need to hear any of that shit again

Thanks, I will give that a go when I'm done eating dinner. Guess I know what's up first when I've got money to upgrade some stuff.

can you even imagine Ninja Gaiden Black on PC?

I can. But it's Tecmo and Nu-Team Ninja. It'd be Ninja Gaiden Sigma and somehow they'd fuck that up like they did the portable port.

Starting to feel bad for Durante, since everyone expects him to fix every mediocre PC game. He's a guy who does this in his spare time, he's not obligated to do anything.
Honestly we need to start up a donation fund for the guy so he gets paid for his badass fixes.

You don't have to go 1920x1080 59hz either, you can make a higher res like 2560x1440 60hz and select it as your desktop resolution, and the game will run at 1080p 60hz too.

Yarr, this worked. The 59 Hz piece didn't, but setting it to 60Hz at a non-1080p setting did.

Oddly, I'm getting 30 in the main menu, but 60 in game, no drops, maxed.

Not sure if menu is like that by design. Going to assume yes.

Wanted full screen because Shadowplay doesn't work well with borderless window.

Much obliged sir, highest of 5s and all that.

Holy shit. The Steam store page.

That's a new thing: Major top of the page ad. Dunno if Konami mandated that or Steam suggested it, but nice going all the same.

Has anyone poked around in the game folder/configs to see whether you can increase the amount of time cut pieces/bodies stay on the ground?

Yeah, showing 30 for menu and cutscenes.

when I try this the game just crashes as soon as I select fullscreen :(

It's to hide loading.

And no they aren't just forcing it down your throat, on consoles anyway, because you're able to skip through all the dialogue as soon as the background loading is finished which doesn't take too long.

Tested it out. Max settings for everything and highest default resolution. Smooth as butter. No issues in the entire prologue. No complaints here.

I went full screen and had no issues. I just hate the mouse cursor pops back in the middle of the screen occasionally.
