Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC Version |OT| Violence Breeds Violence

Ok, is this just happening to me or is anyone else getting it? It runs at 60fps except there's a tiny stutter roughly every second.

No, it's not just you, I'm also experiencing the same thing. I'm running Windows 8.1 with an i7 and GTX 660ti.

It's kind of disappointing as I don't want to play until I can figure out how to get rid of the stuttering. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned having it. So maybe it's just us, lol.

I think one of the things no one is talking about is how good the M/KB controls are.

? I found the mouse controls unusable. Felt way, way too much like a raw mapping of the analogue stick. Made it a lot harder to do the same things you're supposed to do on a gamepad.

"Stop that blade!"

"RULES OF NATURREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

It seriously never gets old.
Yes! Split it wide open!

I always felt that the title card should have popped up right when he cuts the Ray's arm

Is really necessary be stealthy in some sections?

No. Goes balls out.

And a helpful tip in case no one has said it yet: try to parry everything. No matter how ridiculous it might be or how implausible, try to parry every attack (unless it is one of the attacks that flashes yellow). Ray's foot? Parry it. Ray's tail? Fuck it, parry.

My i3-2100 and HD5850 really feels dated now. On lowest settings @ 720P, I only manage 60FPS most of the time. It drops to 50FPS on very intense moments like the Ray fight.

Also, those mini Ray things that went moo in MGS4 trailers. Do they really just get blown backward if you parry them?

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
Whoever said that newcomers should start on hard difficulty is a cruel person. How the hell am I going to beat
Monsoon...

Easy?

Dude's a cake-walk once you learn his patterns. Was a bitch for me with 70 attempts to no-damage him, but if you don't care about that you can beat him completely easy.

I didn't understand that fight either. To my knowledge you either have to pull off a parry counter or simply wait out a long long time.

Monsoon is the same on every difficulty since Raiden has unlimited meter.

You can parry everything they do except the yellow tentacle grab. Even their charge and their stomp.

Or use one of the literal dozens of EM Grenades that he generously showers upon you :p

It's a pretty easy fight, though. No-damaged it on my fourth try.

This is the most painful thing I've seen this year.

Finished the game on Normal.

Now I don't know if I should go through the whole thing again on Hard (and get the collectibles I missed) or play the DLC.

Game is so fucking good.

If you don't skip the cut the truck minigames you can just use EM grenades instead

After you beat him you can use his weapon to break him apart too

It's weird though as it's the only boss fight in the game in which items have an real effect/are sort of required. I had no idea what I was supposed to do my first playthrough either

Am I correct in that if I buy a key from another region (eg Amazon US; that brazilian site), I won't be able to activate it in Europe? Can I bypass it with a proxy in that case?

Try using Radeonpro and forcing 60 Hz for fullscreen. That fixed all my MGR woes.

I'll try that, thanks. I have RadeonPro but have never used it; been using D3DOverider for triple buffering to avoid using in-game V-Sync. Guess I would need to disable it first?

Hard is good even for a newcomer. I wipe hard on learning new enemies but then it feels like I'm learning something when I get past them.

I'll punch a wall if Bayonetta gets a PC version without a wii u version.

Ideally, I want both, but Nintendo is bringing the sequel with a decent story focus as an exclusive-it's bad business to require a competitor's machine to understand a Nintendo-published game.

On-tooic, fuck the mastiff stealth section.

What happened to your Sega Twitter initiative?

If that's confirmed then three things need to happen:

1) Everyone go insane!!
2) Everyone jump on Platinum to make sure they do not repeat the same mistakes what they did to MGR (above 60fps, 2560x1600p support, HBAO and other graphics upgrade options.
3) Quickly think of another game to push other than Vanquish. I'd love to have Wonderful 101 if it's not locked down by Nintendo and the super underrated, Madworld.

Anyhow. I'm staying calm until someone Bayonetta is confirmed for release or not.

W101 is most certainly locked down by Nintendo. They own the IP.

This is the gist of it.

Sega community manager responded and said they passed around word to the appropriate people after the Twitter campaign.

He also recomended a petetion as that will directly show demand to the Sega executives. I'll be putting up a petition on Monday. I was going to try to get one up this week, but I've been busy and Metal Gear Rising came out yesterday.

W101 and Bayo 2 will be completely locked down by Nintendo

Bayo 1 is a distinct possibility as Sega still controls that IP and the distribution of that specific title.

We'll be lucky if they decide to do Bayo PC port in the first place.

And fuck stealth.

I'm ass at parrying. Countless hours of Dark Souls have me pressing LT right when I'm about to get hit. That's not how you parry in this videogame.

Anyway, do I just have to press toward the enemy + square ? The tutorial made it seem really confusing because it said press the analog in the direction of the enemy's attack. Does this just mean to be facing the enemy pressing forward?
