If Ubisoft is pulling out then that's a bad sign.
Ubi was the only third party with really any presence on the system.
CVG got a response from Ubisoft. Doesn't really fill me with confidence to be honest. The game is announced for Wii U, it wouldn't really be that hard to say that it is still in development.
Ubisoft next financial call is on February 10. Pretty sure we will hear something then.
They never debunked it = yes it is cancelled
When will we get the news? Jan 30th maybe
Who cares really?
It's not even in the board and Ubi has been already crossed out..
Was anyone here actually going to get the Wii U version? Genuinely curious.
That was definitely a strange response from CVG. If the Wii U version was still in the works, they wouldn't hesitate to reject rumours.
Exactly. This is purely confirming a sku of a game. If everything was going accordingly they would give a boiler plate response stating all the platforms it is coming out on. Considering how we never saw in depth footage for the Wii U I bet this was cancelled awhile ago. That was definitely a strange response from CVG. And Zelda Dynasty Warriors isn't even on there! That board is out of date, Wii U Fit and 3D Mario need crossing out too.
There is some last gen footage floating around but I can't imagine it was the Wii U version. Probably PS3 or 360.did we ever even see any wii U footage?

EA saw this a long time ago though. They didnt belive in the platform at all.
Good call on their part it seems.
Bad sign just from Ubi pulling out WD? I don't think so. The state of the Wii U has been a bad sign for the last 3-6 months. Companies like Ubisoft are doing the right thing for their business by jumping off a sinking ship. I'm sure things like Just Dance will still see the light of day, but any third party that's working in or thinking of working on anything like Watch Dogs for Wii U is nuts right now. They may as well just give their money away for free.If Ubisoft is pulling out then that's a bad sign.

You'll see Just Dance for sure and maybe smaller downloadable titles hitting almost all other platforms. Their major franchises like Assassin's Creed, Watch_Dogs and all the games in the Tom Clancy universe will skip Wii U.I don't think this signals that Ubi is dropping all support for the Wii U... but it does make sense that their most ambitious game to date would be hard to justify on a console that wouldn't move more than 25k units.
You'll still see Ubi games on the Wii U, just smaller scope ones.
That board was never that accurate. No one really believe that any of those shits except may be Kart 8.

Maybe a potential Rayman sequel? Who knows. But the big budget titles from Ubi just aren't viable on the Wii U right now.
I can't stop watching this thread. It's like a train wreck.
I mean the level of crap being thrown around. The assumptions, I won't lie I expect it to be cancelled too, but is the current cycle so slow that we take a small arm of a game retailer saying that one special version of title is not available as confirmation?
I want to ignore it but I just can't.
They never will.
UPDATE: Nintendo has replied to us on the matter. A rep just told me, Im afraid we wouldnt be able to comment on a Ubisoft title, which makes sense, but it was worth a shot.
More as we hear it.
Get your head out of the sand. The signs are there.I can't stop watching this thread. It's like a train wreck.

No comment from Nintendo too.

Small arm of a retailer was the start. Ubi's 'no comment' basically sealed the deal.I can't stop watching this thread. It's like a train wreck.

Yikes.
You don't "no comment" something like this.
If this is true, N should just pay for the rest of the dev costs or something, do something so ubisoft will see it as worthwhile to just finish the development (assuming they have already done a lot of work on it already)

Eh, I was on an Ubi career meeting today and they actually included both WiiU and Watch Dogs in their presentation. Lots of rabbids too... So I wouldn't give up hope.
Those are not easy decisions as the platform holder. On the one hand if Nintendo can afford to open up their wallet and help Ubisoft bring the title out it will help their ever diminishing Wii U retail library. On the other hand as soon as they help one title Ubisoft as well as other publishers will smell blood and will want or expect the same treatment to other titles, something that Nintendo simply can't afford to do with every game.If this is true, N should just pay for the rest of the dev costs or something, do something so ubisoft will see it as worthwhile to just finish the development (assuming they have already done a lot of work on it already)

EDIT: Nintendo claiming to "not being able to comment on a Ubisoft title" makes me even more optimistic.
My money's on cancelled.
