Also, notice how the same building looks much more intact in the 16th slide?

I hope Source 2 adds a ton of destructibility and shit like that!

I really had no idea we were still on Source 1.

Anyway I don't care too much about L4D, but this is good news to be getting an updated engine in time for the new consoles.

C'mon guys: this "confirms" nothing other than the existence of Source 2.0.

That's it! Period!

Sorry, CBOAT, but this ain't exactly one of your more "earth shattering" reveals ;p

Take that "reason" and throw it out of that 3 shaped door. There is no place for it here, we need the storage for all the HYPES!

Isn't this the first picture of Source 2 anyway? That's the real thing here.

If they port every fucking map from L4D1 and 2 to L4D3 i dont see any point in buying L4D3 if its F2P after a few years like L4D2.

You're nuts. Those were some amazing maps to play. Now if that all it was and NO new maps. then yes I would be disappointed like many others. But I think many would welcome the old maps also. To put it in another way, I would be ecstatic if DICE brought over all the BF2 maps to BF4. I would rather play those than the current maps. So new does not mean better to everyone.

Today's just one of those days. First we get Microsoft revealing their purchase of the Gears of War IP, then we get confirmation from Digital Foundry on the FPS difference between TR:DE versions, then we get a possible L4D3 leak by CBOAT. Today's only half over. Sony, your turn! Time to pony up The Last Guardian.

Someone create an Antonio Banderas GIF. where he looks back at the screen and sees the CBOAT "fuck wrong with you" post.

PLEASE.

Source 2.0 looks great in the only purported screenshot we've ever seen haha.

Left 4 Dead is my favorite multiplayer experience, and I'm ready for more. Just make paths more dynamic like you promised with the sequel and I'm there day one again.

I'll be there anyways, but still.

I doubt the presentation is about L4D3 given the final slide, which presumably would serve as a summary, doesn't reference it. Looks to be just about Source 2, which frankly I'd be more excited about releasing anyway.
And not to doubt the buttocks, But I'd guess from the title of the powerpoint (Source2_external) and that cboat has a copy, that it was outside valve HQ intentionally (like sent as a pitch for source 2 to some company) if so, wouldn't there be a watermark, or at least a bit more effort put it to the design? It could be an early draft, but still, maybe we're all be lead astray, even cboat.?
How confident are you in your source cboat?

I love all the people in here saying it looks amazing, it's a 700x400 super compressed screenshot. Anything can look good in that.

With that said, that sure looks like an upgraded Source engine. I was hoping for a bigger jump myself, but I'm guessing they still want the engine to run good on year old hardware like Source already does.

Looks good, but we'll have to see more shots and with a greater resolution...I'm hyped for Source 2 to have the same impact Source did, but I'll try to keep my hype in check. :D

no I won't

Holy freaking crap its gorgeous. The fidelity of every detail is outrageous. I love the way Valve makes things look.
Really? Some of that is a bit sparse like the foliage.

I imagine Left 4 Dead 3 proper will actually look better since they're be production level assets instead of internal testing assets.

Yeah, I remember Valve saying they wanted to prioritize this and content streaming. Good news that we're seeing evidence.

I imagine the most interesting technical aspect of the engine will be that, judging by their statements, it will be entirely OpenGL based on PC.

Outside of that I'm expecting a pretty standard top-end next-gen toolset.

Will Valve have a presence at GDC this year? Granted, they can show off the engine at any time and get the appropriate fan-fare, but with GDC around the corner and these appearing in the lair of CBOAT...

One can hope.

I'm happier about the reveal of the Source Engine 2.0 than I am about the possibility of L4D3 to be honest.

Never really got into those games so much, but those tiny screens do look pretty good and I'd love to see what Portal 3 or Half-Life 3
or Half-life 2 Ep. 2.5 if Valve really does hate 3's, haha
.

Hopefully we'll get a tech video as awesome as the one for HL2 back in the day. They gotta say something about it soon.

Yeah. But when did L4D2 got those old maps? Years after release. So with the new Engine they might need even more time to port them(Test for new Gameplay elements and porting them to Source 2). If they release L4D3 with all those campaigns(or even half of them) ported + 5 Campaigns then it would be a Must buy.
