Let's do it! I'm in Lexington training up until mid November, so I'll be at Rupp early this year. I'll probably get tickets to the Wright State game since I lived in Dayton for a few years.

It will be interesting seeing the Gators play with new head Coach White at the helm. Still miss Billy but life moves on. At least there is a good pool of talent on the Gator team with the return of DFS, Chiozza, Hill, Robinson, and Murphy to which you add the return of Walker off of injury, Egbunu from sitting out a year for transfer reasons, Francis-Ramirez now able to play after academic suspension, and the new guys in Allen, Stone, Leon, Hayes and even Rimmer. They should be able to make it to the postseason but we'll have to see how the team handles a fairly difficult early season before the SEC schedule starts.

In a first, there are two number 1 teams in the preseason Coaches SID poll.

From watching CTC:

Marshall is beast.
Amile is beast.
Luke Kennard is beast.

Brangdom Ingram is okay.
Matt Jones is good at defense.
Grayson is mad.

Derrick needs work.

Overall a much more immature team basketball wise than last previous years team were at the same point.

I expected as much.

It will be interesting to see people flip out on them (not naming names like truly) because they can't possibly live up to last year's perfect storm of a team.

And it's not like they'll grow into them over the course of the season either. This team's ceiling wouldn't lay a scratch on 2014-15

ESPN confirms Louisville allegations

Outside the Lines said:
Five former University of Louisville basketball players and recruits told Outside the Lines that they attended parties at a campus dorm from 2010-14 that included strippers paid for by the team's former graduate assistant coach, Andre McGee.

One of the former players said he had sex with a dancer after McGee paid her. Each of the players and recruits attended different parties at Billy Minardi Hall, where dancers, many of whom stripped naked, were present. Three of the five players said they attended parties as recruits and also when they played for Louisville.

Said one of the recruits who ultimately signed to play elsewhere: "I knew they weren't college girls. It was crazy. It was like I was in a strip club."

Outside the Lines said:
Outside the Lines reviewed Powell's journals, text messages and phone records and independently confirmed that text messages sent to Powell to arrange the parties came from McGee's cellphone. Further, Outside the Lines has independently confirmed a wire transfer of money from McGee to Powell on one occasion.

Outside the Lines said:
Powell said she asked McGee whether Pitino knew about the parties: "I said, 'Does Pitino know about this?' And he said, 'He's Rick. He knows about everything.'"

RIP Pitino & Jurich's careers

I still wish Kennard had come to UK. I remember reading on Kentucky forums that he was a Kentucky fan growing up. So much for that.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...rick-pitino-says-andre-mcgee-needs-tell-truth

Pitino doubling down and trying to make McGee the fall guy.

"I don't know if any of this is true or not," Pitino told ESPN's Dana O'Neil by phone Tuesday. "There's only one person who knows the truth and he needs to come out and tell the truth to his teammates, to the University of Louisville, to his fans and to his coaches that have taught him to do the right thing for years and allowed him to be part of something special here.

"He's the only one with any answers. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. ... Everything else is absurd. I don't care about the legal issues. If he's done something wrong, he has to own up to it and do his penance."

The allegations have been detailed in a book, "Breaking Cardinal Rules: Basketball and the Escort Queen," published this month by self-described former escort Katina Powell. In the book, Powell says nearly two dozen stripping and sex parties from 2010 to 2014 occurred inside Louisville's Billy Minardi Hall, the on-campus dorm for athletes and other students.

Powell told Outside the Lines in an extensive interview that, in addition to paying her $10,000 for supplying dancers during the time period, McGee also supplied cash for "side deals," which included sex with some recruits, guardians who accompanied them on visits and some Louisville players.

"This is all about money. People will say and do anything for money," Pitino said of the book. "If these things are not true, and I keep using the word if, there's only one person who can give solutions to these problems: It's Andre McGee.

"It's time to give back to his team, his university and coaches and tell the NCAA the truth and tell everyone else, who was one time very proud of him, the truth. He owes that to his parents, to his university, to his teammates and his coaches. This is not only an NCAA issue here. It's more than that; there's more to it -- his teammates that believed in him, his coaches that believed in him, the community that believed in him, put our trust in him to do the right things."

McGee, who declined comment to ESPN, left Louisville in 2014 and is an assistant coach at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is on administrative leave with pay while the school conducts a review. The NCAA and Louisville also are investigating.

"If he's done the wrong thing, he needs to own up to it," Pitino said. "If he hasn't, he needs to say it's a lie. But the truth has to come out and it can't be to just the NCAA."

Pitino said that he's spoken to McGee just once since the allegations surfaced.

"(After) screaming so loud at him, his only response was: 'I never got paid any money for anything,'" Pitino said.

Pitino said his nephew, Willie Minardi, lived in the dorm for two years. Pitino said Minardi sent him a text message saying, "I never saw anything of what is being accused."

"He said he never saw anything the entire time he lived there," Pitino said of Minardi. "Obviously by what people are saying, something did go on but there's only one person who knows the truth."

A Louisville spokesperson told ESPN on Tuesday that Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich said, "Coach Pitino has no plans to step down and he absolutely didn't know about the allegations." The spokesman said Jurich would not be commenting further."

Yeah I've seen a lot of Duke fans who have no clue what they have in Kennard. It still saddens me that Beilein couldn't lock him down early.

Kennard is going to be great coming off the bench to shoot some 3s when we need points.

That or garbage time dominance.

I guess...Duke is playing their first preseason game tonight against DII Champion Little Sisters of the Poor

They're beating the brakes off those kids obv, but it is interesting to seeBrandon Ingram as the primary ballhandler in the no-PG starting lineup.

Thank goodness November is here. Some exhibition games will be played this weekend, then the following weekend the season begins! Texas will start off in China against Washington

I got grudge sucked!
I can't believe Duke let Florida Bermuda Triangle University score 68 on them. No defense, poor effort. I think its clear to everyone that Coach K needs to step down. You've got 5 now, time to ride off into the sunset. Now go on and git.

Fuck ACC refs, fuck blown calls, fuck Miami, fuck Swofford, and fuck all y'all

AP Preseason Top 10

1 North Carolina (35)
2 Kentucky (10)
3 Maryland (14)
4 Kansas (5)
5 Duke 0-0
6 Virginia (1)
7 Iowa State
8 Oklahoma
9 Gonzaga
10 Wichita St

The hate in my blood wants to say that UNC is being overrated on the fact that they have so much experience even though the whole team is nothing but career losers and scrubs. But my head says they're probably the best choice for no. 1.

lol at someone giving Virginia a first place vote tho.

UK is going to win it all. Their 3 guard lineup with a monster in the center is the blueprint for winning a natty these days.

So Luke Kennard is going to be the most hated player in college basketball by the end of the season, it seems.

Luke stuffing the stat sheet tonight. 25 pts, 8 rebs, 4 assts. 8-15 FG. 6-10 3pt. This guy can fill it up and more.

I'm just hoping UCF can get to .500. Conference or out of conference, I'm not exactly sure yet. Just at least one of those, though.
