Just wanted to chime in, this game is absolutely amazing and should have more success.
I'm addicted to it, we began to play this in local coop, now we're probably buying Plus for it

Indeed. This game is amazing. I bought this game day 1, even though I didn't have the time to play it back then. I've managed to put some hours into it recently and reached level 22. The journey's been really awesome so far.

Where can I find a manual of this game? I have a weapon with the effect: lightning, triggered by shooting at enemy. However, I don't see any difference when I'm shooting at enemies with that weapon.

Any has an idea what "Effect: Lightning" is?

How is local co-op? My buddy has a PS4 and we want to play this game but can't decide whether we should wait until I get one and play via LAN or online. We loved Dead Nation in local co-op.

Local co-op is amazing. Only difference from online is that you need to be closer to the each other. In online mode, you can be much further away from the host, but you will still get teleported back to the host if you wander off too far.

I believe you can actually log on to your PSN account on your friend's PS4 and play local co-op...and then continue with that account when you finally get your PS4.

For shoot: lightning, you get extra damage on top of your initial shot damage when hitting an enemy, and it chains to the nearest other enemies. Usually strong enough by itself to kill a group of small grunts or insta-kill any of the soldier archetypes because it'll hit their backpack.

Do note that it DOES have a cooldown, so not every shot will trigger it.

What's the proc rate and cooldown? (sorry...D3 player here)

How many have begged for a PC version yet? How big is the chance?

Haven't seen many beg. Wouldn't matter anyway.
The only game in the past 15 years that's been on PC was Outland, which was multiplatform and even came to the 360.
These games that were on PS3/4 and Vita never got a PC release and were Sony exclusive.

The proc rate is always 100%, cooldown only. Which is somewhere in the 2-3 second ballpark, I never bothered to measure it that well, but you might want to check out these two posts I made about this: Post one, Post two

And since you asked about the manual, you can access it (a very barebone thing indeed) from the PS4 XMB. Go to the Alienation icon, click down and right. You should see the Gamer guide, which is all the manual you get. Just about the only useful info there is the fact that critical hits are 5x damage instead of the bog standard 2x.

Noticed that, but its region free

I know. I actually double dipped. ;)

Picked it up from heavy-arm.com which are terrific for asian games that don't get released in the west. They get regular restocks of physical English games as well that you won't easily find elsewhere.

Evolved1

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Give it a bit longer. It's my goty so far.
You need to get some better weapons and roll the world, then it gets really crazy and intenst to play. :)
Alright... maybe this weekend I can dig in a bit more.

That sounds like a pretty awesome patch. I will most definitely use the option to turn world 2 environments off, really wasn't a fan of that.

The increase in hero level cap is great and the new difficulty will be something extra. Intrigued by the collectible armor sets, could be interesting.

Woah, solid update. Gonna have to get the gang back together and play some Alienation again.

Hero Level 205, no 12 slotted Legendary yet. And since the update I get zero drops even on "Legend". Got 1 Legendary/run @ Master before patch, what is this shit....

Can your gang use a new player?

I got platinum plus dlc trophies already. Havent played in a while tho...

Definitely. I will be on vacation this weekend starting Thursday, but probably next week and weekend we will be trying to play some. One of our guys just had a kid so I will probably be on GAF looking for other people to join up when we do get around to playing again.

I have the season pass....how do I enable the DLCs? It seems like the DLC is part of the season pass.
You kinda have to go into the store and download the individual packs. It also seems like the Veteran's pack isn't correctly reading as part of the season pass right now, but that's also the one most people won't care about, since it just boosts new characters to lvl 15 if you so choose.

So if I want all the DLC, do I just buy the Season Pass at this point?

Also, I'm having a hard time progressing even on Rookie in World 2. I'm level 17 or 18, but my weapons are just not that fantastic. I've tried joining games, but the host is usually a higher level and thus the enemies just one shot me. Any tips?

Yes. Season pass nets you the 2 weapons and 3 armor colors. I really like the new weapons.

For your Rookie situation in World 2, you just gotta keep grinding the first level of World 2 or join others with Rookie rank. Joining a Professional, Veteran, Expert, or Master, etc will just get you slaughtered.

I ended up buying the Season Pass shortly after my post since this thread seems kind of dead.

I'm about 30/30 or so on my Bio. I'm having an issue where anything but Rookie still sucks because I just don't do much damage. Hell, even on Rookie the enemies tend to be bullet sponges. Do I ever got powerful enough to feel like I can run the harder difficulties solo effectively?

I'm at 30/180 with my Tank, and I've had no trouble playing solo on the 4th and 5th difficulty levels (Master and Legendary, are they called?). You probably need to find some good weapons and upgrade it with higher level cores.

Alright - so just keep playing. Does my hero level impact the gear level that drops? Also, does the location impact my drops? I'm only on the second location of World 2 because it's tough for me. Should I try and press on or should I just run the first mission in Alaska over and over?

Also, I have a few UFO keys. Should I save those until I finish World 2 and cap clear the harder/hardest stuff?

Difficulty impacts the % of drop rate for legendary. The higher the difficulty, the better the drop rate.

Make sure you upgrade your weapon with the orbs. And upgrade your orbs by merging with lower level orbs. Reroll your best weapons to ensure you're on the high end of damage. Even rare weapons at L30 can hold their own in rookie solo.

At worse, leech from higher level groups.

is the season pass worth it? seems a bit much for 3 new weapons and some new colors for the projectiles.

and how do you get the new armor sets? only through finishing the weekly mission?

I'm pretty thrilled with it. The Vortex Grenade is really cool, being able to use any weapon with any character is fun, and having that World 2 boost is awesome for starting a new character.

Also, the armors come from mission rewards and I THINK I've gotten them from random chests from either events. And they're awesome.

The Vortex Grenade is really good. It's not a one-use damage thing. It's a crowd control weapon and that helps a lot when you're getting swarmed.

The Devastator is a great addition too. It's like a continuous powershot that you have to aim constantly at the mobs.

The Collapser is a strange weapon for a "heavy weapon" type. It's super deadly in closed quarters with all the bouncing of the shots. Best used in UFO or Ark ship missions.

Played a LOT yesterday - got to 30/60-ish. I scored a few new weapons, including an 11 slot Xenorifle and Flamer. I thought that having close to 600k DPS on a weapon would mean I'd mow through stuff. Wrong.

I love the shit out of this game, but the way the power levels work make it feel like you're always playing catch up.

Got all the dlc trophies except for the 3 weekly missions one. Gotta wait till next eeek for that.

Main char is a 30/221 Saboteur.

Dont play with the other 2 classes because Indont see the point...

I know what you mean. Man, my primary is an Energy Gun with DPS close to 1 mil, secondary is a plasma shotgun with 700k DPS, heavy is a collapser with 800k DPS, vortex grenade with 500k DPS. L30/120 Saboteur here.

Yeah...all that, and my weapons feel like peashooters on higher difficulties...and the weekly missions....wow..that's crazy tough. I've never cleared a full weekly mission without at least 1 death.

A 12-slot legendary still eludes me, but just yesterday I managed to grab a 11-slot devastator that also shoots lightning. It melts enemies, so pretty happy about that drop.

Speaking of which, how many weapon abilities are there? Today I was playing in a group with another saboteur and a bio-specialist, and the bio sometimes had the tank's shield up.

Any consensus on the new weapons yet? Seen a few people online using the continuous beam thing and it seems to hit hard but I've yet to find one with a decent number of slots. Both my characters are rocking either exclusively 12 slot or almost all 12 slot so its very hard to trade down so to speak.

Had to take some time off for a work trip and I'm right back into it, god I love this game.

The devastator (the beam one) is cool. I haven't found any 10+ slot secondary yet, so it's my go to. The new heavy seems like it could be awesome with good slots. I had a guy in a game yesterday melting enemies with the bouncing ball.

What's new primary? I just use my Xenorifle because it's 11 or 12 slot (can't remember) and it does well.

I hate the weird creep in this game, but I can't stop playing it. I think that once I find a few really powerful weapons and can solo the weekly, I'll feel really good.
