Attack on Titan |OT| - Like a Braus

A bunch of high end materials are only avaliable at the last battles in it. To get the best equipment you need to grind them out. Feels kinda pointless considering the structure of the game though, since there's no real incentive for you to get the best gear, other than a trophy or OCD I guess.

Seriously? Oh, man. I was actually aiming for doing all the trophies. But not sure if i'm going to bother now.

Does anyone know how many co-op missions there are?
Total of 66 Survey missions plus the Expeditions ones which are streaks of these missions I think.

It's a rather grindy Platinum, but not high on the Omega Force scale. I'm guessing 30-40 hours. It gets really boring at the end, like having to redo all Survey missions on the True Attack Mode. At least they give you lots of funds for going it all again.

I am in the epilogue where characters start giving you requests to do, and Mikasa had a request that I have completed, but she will not show up in the base any more to talk to and advance to the next stage of request. I am not playing as Mikasa so the issue isn't that she's not spawning because I'm already her. Anyone ran into this and know what I'm doing wrong?

This happens sometimes it seems. Try going back to the Main Menu and changing characters or even completing other requests. She'll eventually appear. There's no rush with these requests too, so just keep playing.

Hit the first mission that I don't think is any fun.

Armin vs Female Titan

It's a flat, open field, Armin is weak as fuck, and the Titan is certainly not.

EDIT: Finished it, that was terrible. My first B rank. =/

How is the framerate on the PS4 version?
Not good. Battles are all over the place, going down to the teens when there's more than a few titans on screen and buildings are being destroyed.

Almost all of my deaths have been from unresponsive controls or misjudged timing during moments of extreme frame drops. At its most extreme, it makes you play the game through sense and sound cues alone.

Does any Omega Force game ever have a decent framerate on consoles? I played Dragon Quest Heroes last year on PS4, too, and that was pretty bad, as well.

Are we playing the same game? While there is a frame drop when you get hit, there're lot of titans around you and building are getting broken, it's never unplayable and I've cleared several mission without a noticeable frame drop like that.

I mean it's not the best, but it's certainly playable. The thing i wish they'd fix is the pop in of the enemies and trees etc It's always my main pet peeve with Omega force games.

Dare I hope that Koei pulled its head out of its ass and figured out how to release 3D PC games over 1080p?

Oof, that is rough. Render distance on PC isn't great either but it isn't that bad! My only gripes with the game so far are:

- It is waaay too easy to get an A/S rank. Even on missions where I fail side missions and restart, I usually wind up with and S rank which really diminishes the feeling of accomplishment.

-Friendly AI seems broken or shoddy at best. Most of the time when I arrive on scene, the AI scouts are just standing still or running around in a circle trying to jump on their horse which makes the escort missions really frustrating at times.

I am having a blast though. I'm on mission 3 of the Epilogue and loving it (20 hours in and only 46% completion of Attack Mode). Currently switching between Jean and Hange. Gotta love Hange screaming hello to the Titans as you blast past them.

I didn't say it was unplayable, if it was that bad I would just return my copy and buy the PC version. I still get S ranks on almost every mission, but there have been plenty of moments where I needed the game to be more responsive and it just wasn't. I would call it a minor annoyance.

It's not like the game is overly punishing, anyway, checkpointing is generous enough and loading times are fast. The performance issue is there for me, but it's certainly not ruining the game or anything.

Back to the game itself, despite me not enjoying the previous mission, it now means I get to move on to my favorite part from the series!

Where they try to trap the Female Titan in the forest

That's when the anime got going for me. I can't wait to get to that point.

So just started, should i just play on hard from the start?
Since everyone says its easy to get A/S rank

How are you planning on doing that? You don't get hard mode until you finish all the chapters, which is a good thing because hard mode would absolutely maul a new character with shitty gear.

It's in the options. Unless there's an even harder mode that unlocks.

But yes, you should play on Hard (in the options menu). The game is very easy on normal.

Got the game today and have good fun with it.
I am a little disappointed about some technical flaws (PS4). I know what to expect from my Omega Force games, especially the Musou ones.

But i find the aliasing pretty bad here. Looks much better on pictures, especially the character models.
The framerate and camera, are all over the place too.

But yeah, still a cool game :)

this game made me check out the anime. Holy shit the game skips over so much. And Holy shit this anime is so good.

Yup. I suppose I can understand when I saw people here say that you don't have to watch the show prior to playing this game, but boy does it help! You're definitely getting the cliff notes of the show when you play this.

Good lord the pathfinding AI for the escort missions and side missions is garbage. Getting stuck on shit, randomly deciding to walk in a circle, etc. Small blessing in that it's not a very frequent occurrence at least (the missions themselves, the AI is almost always bad), but it feels like they should've been cut entirely (or made to teleport with you like your horse).

Were you remembering to use Armin's ability to order teammates to attack? They give you fairly good squad members in that mission If I remember right, it goes as quickly as any other fight against
The female titan
I didn't have any teammates in that mission, I must have let them all die by accident. I do usually mash Circle constantly while playing Armin.

So I just recently started getting into Attack on Titan. I'm only 5 episodes in. Should I finish up the first season/catch up before I play this game? Will plot points in the show be spoiled if I play now? I already found out that
Eren turns into a Titan
just by searching on Amazon for the show.

Anyway, I'm absolutely loving the show and want to experience the story fresh and don't want to ruin anything about it. YET... I want to be like Eren and Mikasa and fly through the sky on some ODM gear. Is it safe, or do I finish watching the show?

The best way to experience the story is to watch the anime, watch the ilse's notebook ova and then read chapters 32-35 of the manga.
edit:
Actually just watch ilse's notebook now since it was pretty early in the manga, and it also gets referenced pretty early in the game.

Thanks, I'll wait then. At the rate I'm bingeing the show it won't be too long before I'm ready to play the game.

Big sucker for Omega Force games and my gf loves the anime, so took a chance on it and it really is super fun. Feels like Spiderman II (the game) on animu steroids. It's fantastic! The moment the side missions opened up, I've been hooked. Haven't played any story missions since... xD

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
Epilogue spoilery question:

The first time
I fought the beast titan
, a tutorial popped up at the exact second I was pressing X to boost, and I skipped the message immediately by accident. Does anyone remember what that tutorial would have said? Fighting
the beast titan
is a shit show on survey missions now, and I'm wondering if I missed something important.

Burn the motherfucker with molotovs once you do that weak spots will become exposed.
Makes it fairly easy as long as you dont waste your inventory.

Great game! I'm into the epilogue and even though the gamelay is very same-y, it never gets old taking down titans and zipping around. Omega Force knows how to keep repetitive games fun.

Does the epilogue spoil storyline content from the manga or is it just like a sneak peak of the titans in season 2? I might hold off on completing it if it's the former.

Not really its just all random stuff they didnt really add anything plotwise at least I dont remember it doing so.

As someone who came in after watching the anime, the game also skips over a lot of Eren screaming like a bitch. And I'm okay with this lol.

I'm past 8 hours in and I've beaten attack mode to the point where you have to do the survey/subquest grind. I think this is one of my favorite games this year. If they gave me a mission where I just had to mindlessly swing around for an hour and kill nothing, I would do it happily. It just feels that good.

Also, contrary to most Omega Force games they give you way too much access to Levi. He outclasses everyone else by so much it's not even funny. It's like unlocking Lu Bu from the start.

They actually added bits from chapter 35-40 in the epilogue, heck one of the requests even shows a little conversation between erwin and the guy from the MP that doesn't happen until what....chapter 60 53?

Grindy as a fuck.

30 to 50 hour grindy? Or more like 100+ hours grindy? :)
I have seen you need to S rank every story mission. That does not seem too hard. What is the most grindy part about it? Some Weapon / Gear and material related stuff? Or doing all the other, non story missions?

Just started this. Loving the movement. This, Sunset Overdrive, Gravity Rush. Games that make moving fun are my favorite kind.

Any suggestions on best equipment to use/develop/upgrade?

It depends a bit on who you like to play as too. For instance Armin's Anchor Strength sucks ass by default, so if you want to play as him you might want to give him the gear that focuses on that.

But really I'd just go for the balanced gear overall.
