Call of Duty: Black Ops III |OT| No Content For Old Gen

I just opened a rare supply drop and only got a rare character head and two common camos... pretty disappointing for how long it takes to get that many coins. So I'm kind of wondering the same thing.

id recommend the common drops.

Ive gotten rare and legendary items from that.

Was very disappointed with Advanced Warfare. I was on the verge of skipping but found out about online coop. I would seriously not play the campaign solo but coop would be worth it. Halo 5 was a blast with coop. The nightmare more and zombie mode do seem interesting as well.

Even if the multiplayer didn't live up the hype these modes would be a decent distraction.

After w day of off and on MP about to start campaign with my buddies. Has anyone played realistic coop? How hard is it? Are there revives? Thanks.

Can't you play the campaign offline, then this won't happen.

Did people really expect a perfectly pulled off launch?? I mean, literally, no games work out of the chute now.

Personally I've yet to be disconnected, but was unable to connect for 5 minutes earlier due to served maintenance.
Progress is seperate on the two and although you can unlock all missions you lose all character progress so no weapons or abilities and I'm on the last level so I kind of need them.

The bit in chapter 4 where you have to fight one of the armored mmo sponges inside the building while surrounded on all sides has finally surpassed World at War's bullshit. What a broken, terrible fight on realistic.

Only reason I'm even bothering with it, at this point. This is the least fun I've had with any CoD campaign and I've played them all.

I'm actually preferring Ghost over Black Ops 3 campaign. I might change though, but I really hate the coop focus of the campaign since it messed up the level design and pacing :(

Anyone got info on prestige?

Want to know what stays and what resets, also what you unlock.

Resets: Classes, guns, scorestreaks, specialists, rank.

Doesn't reset: Attachments (tied to gun rank), camo progress, challenge progress.

Gain: Extra Custom Class, 1 Permanent unlock token

I find saved up 30 coins or whatever, and bought a drop. The rare thing that I got? A taunt for a class that I'll never use.

The other two things were common accessories to weapons I won't unlock until weeks from now.

Just watched NXgamer's first contact analysis and the game scales between 13xx by 1080 to full hd on ps4 and it scales between sub 900p to full 900p on xb1. This combined with the poor performance in the campaign and worse visuals than advanced warfare makes this an embarrassing release. On top of that, we have one of the worst if not the worst single player releases in COD's history according to several impressions. Now there are server issues and disappearing save files due to them being saved online? Let's not forget the split screen mode with black bars, smh. I'm glad I didn't fall for the hype. The reviews looked too suspicious. Looks like giant bomb, polygon(forgive me), and gamespot were on point. Treyarch makes the worst performing(tech wise) COD games and the most boring COD games imo. Its nice to see my suspicions confirmed.

COD games have never been a powerhouse and when you are playing MP do you ever see the resolution switch. could you tell me hand on heart when the resolution shifts and for how long etc or when they say that in a slowed down clip?

Resets specialists? That's shitty. I just want to be a robot and it's taking forever to get to level 34. Won't want to do it again.

Can you use the token to perm unlock a specialist?

So I'm completely clueless when it comes to zombies. The last CoD game I've played was MW2. I'm pretty sure I was playing the zombies campaign, as the cutscene played in the beginning. But it just drops you into a hub area. Am I just supposed to survive or what? What's the objective?

Anyone else having problems connection on Xbox One? Started my campaign online and now I can't play because the servers seem to be down. Some bullshit. Power of the cloud my ass.

Still better than what I have been getting. Last 2x spending 30 coins, I got 2 stupid rare camo. That's the last thing I care about is how my gun looks.
Am I the only one that hate the specialists? I'd rather just be able to customize my own guy.
They should given you the option to select your special, like a normal loud out, instead of tying it to a certain char model. I don't need to hear I kill X specialist 20 times a game. And the top 3 summary screen, please give me an option to skip / disable that shit.

Yeah you can

Servers have been having issues all night. "Power of the cloud" will never be used for third party games.

I'm loving the multiplayer, but the campaign isn't great. For some reason the game won't save my progress. Fucking annoying.

It feels like I'm fighting the Vex from Destiny at times. The levels go together real nice and the pacing is new.

It's like one of those experiences where the new content or dialogue just flew over your head. There's dialogue with the cast that it's like the TV went mute in the middle of the conversation and then it suddenly kicks back in.

I'm having fun, but this has been more about gameplay and what goes on on the screen than listening to everyone talk.

It must be difficult assigning lines to the cast at times because if it was up to me I'd have them cut out all the small talk conversations.

Connection sucks too. I've been offline for most of the day and even had it crash on me while attempting to join a match.

I figured I was probably in the minority. They just seem generic to me. Of course I haven't unlocked them all yet.

I've unlocked several different customization sets for Battery so far and the one I'm using makes her look completely different then when I started which is cool. She almost looks like a character from Sunset Overdrive now.

Am I crazy or is there a problem with the running? Like, no matter what, my guy always stops running, as if there's like a super short stamina bar that I'm unaware of.

Connections are horrible on PS4 at the moment, lots of red and yellow bars.
Yeah I couldn't deal with it anymore and just got off. I'll be back on in a bit tho. I know Treyarch will iron these issues out, but I wish they would've worked on it during/after the beta. Seems like all the laggy server disconnects from beta are still very present during launch.

Can ou switch the Specialist's gender or not? I thought I read somewhere there were male and female versions of each class, but I can't seem to find how to choose.

It's a good game but I just hate the future setting. I really hope they return to WW2 or even a modern setting, but it has to be done right.

God damn, what a horrible campaign. Very disappointing. Black Ops 1 and 2 had such great stories, this was just so... meh. And the actual fun factor dropped a ton, too. So many enemies everywhere, every encounter just felt like a mess. The greatness of the Black Ops universe almost feels tainted because of this campaign... should have just been a totally different universe. Though I suppose keeping the Black Ops name ensures a shit load of sales.

Playing as a custom character sucked. I hated being a hollow shell who's only purpose is a window for me into the game. I like playing an actual established character. I loved playing Mason in Black Ops and Section/Woods in Black Ops 2. Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to care about and grow attached to a hollow custom character.

And what the fuck was even up with the story. So Taylor defeated the AI and took over the player character's brain or something?

God damn, I was really hoping for the Masons or Reznov to show up and make the game actually feel like Black Ops again. But nope. Just a single mention of Raul Menendez and then no more connections to the original games besides another quick callback to Nova 6.

Decided to just go through a few custom games to try out some of the newish stuff

The Gorgon is so much fun to use. It even LOOKS like an MG42

Treyarch might as well just make some alternative universe WWII game, so we can have our futuristic looking Garands and MP40's, while still having an excuse to use jetpacks and do wall running on futuristic-not-Carentan

PS: Mountain Dew Code Red is actually pretty good

no specialist are just what they are, only thing you can choose gender is in the single player campaign

That's normal zombies, which is what you wanna play anyway. Zombies has a nice long running story you don't need to really know.

The objective of zombies is to survive as long as possible (wave based).
The secondary objective probably half of people if not 75% of them never do is the Easter Egg. I don't believe it's been finished yet so don't worry about that.
There's a whole point economy in the game. Kill zombies for points, buy stuff with said points. To progress you buy doors with the points.
You'll come across perk machines which give you abilities, and a new machine called the gobblegum machine which gives you lots of smaller bonus abilities.
For weapons, you can buy the chalk drawings off the walls. If you look up in the sky, you can generally see a blue light, which is where the mystery box is. It gives you random weapons for 950 points a hit. These guns are usually better. You can get some really unique and amazing stuff in there.
Oh and on this map in particular, Shadows of Evil, there are purple flames. You can go into "Beast Mode" (lol), which allows you to turn on electrical machines like perks by zapping their power boxes.

Honestly this is gonna take a good couple weeks to get to grips with for a newcomer, at best, I'd say. You'd honestly be better off with The Giant or playing Black Ops 1 or World at War zombies. Let us know if you have any particular questions, and sorry this was so long, zombies only gets more complex as time goes on.

My theory is that all that was left in the player characters mind, after the purge, was remnants of Taylor.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
Just tried to play multiplayer on PS4 and got a message saying that everything is down for maintenance.

Definitely agree. The moment my guy talked I thought "wow he sounds generic". Thought back to Soap from Modern Warfare and missed that kind of interaction. Mason was cool as well.

On another note, I feel we are in for a 20th century game within the next 3 years. I am doubting Black Ops 4 being futuristic, if not IW or Sledge going back in time first. The demand is there.
