ITT: people who have not read The Great Gatsby.
I say quit being a fucking bitch, take the money you have and make another bad ass game. People who get loads of money and cry that they are depressed because people don't like them now make me sick.
Man the fuck up.

It's really easy to say what to do from the outside looking in.Trust me, I get the message of the thread. It's shitty to be non-sympathetic and erase the man for the money.
The issue is, I'm an irresponsible idiot, and I can think of a million and 1 things to do with a gross amount of money that doesn't leave me poor and ravaged.
Create an small illness research fund, work on solar panel research, fund a dream game for the fuck of it with no bullshit red tape, visit all the worlds greatest treasures, become a real life batman, on and on.
Is this suddenly going to solve an issue with depression? Obviously not. That's what a qualified therapist and some medication can possibly help with, which he can easily afford the best of, which already puts him a leg above most other depressed people. But this should solve that "I can't figure out what the fuck to do with my gross amount of money" problem he seems to be tweeting about.

He should try making another game, sink himself into what he loves.
He got really lucky Minecraft took off, so I don't think it's a good idea to re-sink his ego into another game development. Scrolls bombed hard and it probably hit him hard.

Didn't he get married during Minecraft development? What happened there?
It didn't work out.

Most of you gus are talking about what he should do with his money, your advice seems to focus on professional endeavors ... I think what hes really struggling with are the societal changes. People that he can trust, relate to and form relationships with. Stripping that away from you must really hurt and I think thats where hes coming from.
Yeah, it seems like he would have been better off sticking with the level of normal he was accustomed to before his success. Just because you're fabulously wealthy doesn't mean you have to maintain a lavish lifestyle if that doesn't appeal to you.I'll never understand why he got a mansion in a city of famous people. Why is he trying to join that clique instead of hanging out with people like himself?
Exactly how rich do you have to be to stop having feelings? I'm asking because all of these feels are super inconvenient and I intend to get rid of them with fat stacks of sweet cash money ASAP.Am I really supposed to feel sorry for a billionaire?
Dear Lord there is so much envy in this thread.
No idea why people think rich people cannot have depression.
I'm crying on the inside.
If you're bored mess around and make another independent game, or did Microsoft pinky swear you'd never make a game again...?
Or just get a freaking hobby. Start a vinyl collection. Shit, I don't know. Something.
I mean, obviously it's wrong, but when so much depression comes from a huge income disparity, it's easy to see why so many would be frustrated at seeing the mega rich complaining about seemingly nothing.Seriously. Having money obviously helps ease the burden and stress of a lot of factors. (Health bills of yourself and others, food, shelter, etc.).
But to think that after you reach a certain amount of money you can't be depressed? You'd have to be the most materialistic person in the world, and I understand that our modern society is a shitty one, but some people in GAF should be better than this.
You can try a therapist, talk to a friend, talk to some family member, talk to anyone that cares for you. Complaining on Twitter achieves nothing but people mad at you or that sympathizers with you but can't help you.You still need the drive and courage to actually step out and do those things, even if you are filthy rich.
Am I really supposed to feel sorry for a billionaire?
LOL.
These people have no problems that could be compared to anything an ordinary mortal experiences.
I am a billionaire and I am bored because everyone else is busy working while I am busy being bored.
Cry me a river.
Yeah, I've been facing this. It's very isolating.Moving always severs roots, even for 'normal' people.
Sounds like he needs a hobby, or a new job. Basically a reason to get up in the morning.
