And this is why I don't do digital download.
It´s pretty silly to avoid all digital downloads because some are assholes. If we can´t take that good with the bad, we will never get anywhere with anything.

It already happened with Tetris on the iphone.

Theyre just doing this again, only theyve been caught in the act.
This company is disgusting, and I will never buy anything from them again.

So let's this straight:
1) EA puts out message saying the game will end (tailored to the game)
2) Puts a FAQ on its help site confirming it
3) Puts out a press release saying it was "sent in error"
4) Pulls FAQ page
Who the fuck do they think they're kidding?
I would love to see this as well.Does anyone have the FAQ page screencapped?
Dear rockers, thanks for rocking out with us.:lol at the bullshit change in opinion.
That being said, there is a very small possibility that it was all in error as the message is completely generic and you can replace "Rock Band" with any other game. Not backing them up but there's a 0.01% chance they're not bullshitting. But it's EA so it's definitely not beyond them. It's kinda hard to accidentally send out a message to all app owners.
Dear rockers, thanks for rocking out with us.
Update: We have received the following statement from EA: "Rock Band for iOS will remain live - the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error. We apologize for the confusion this caused. We're working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible.
How can they legally take your game away from you?
Oh yea that's true.Dear rockers, thanks for rocking out with us.
it's never yours, you just pay for the right to use it.
Right, so by that logic they can legally come into your home and take your physical copy of a game if they dont want to support it anymore?
EA has officially backed off.
Maybe the next gen game systems will come with DVD or bluray writers as the drive and games will come on rewritable media. Then when a company decides not to support a game you purchased, they send a signal out and the next time you put in that game, the system wipes it clean.
Nah, just another "goof". You can totally accidentally type a message up of that length and make it come up when people load the game. Totally by accident too!

READ THE EULA's
Weak excuse tbh.
The guys cat jumped on the desk. It walked all over the keyboard.
Yep. And the guys dog wrote the FAQ.
Not really.
There was a South Park episode that touched on this subject, I think you would enjoy it in abundance.
YES THAT IS WHAT I PASS AS LATE NIGHT HUMOR.
"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."
I know what the EULA Defence Force says it is, as your compatriots like ccp is king regularly remind us.
I didn't know we had secret meetings.
Nobody told me this.
What the fuck.
One could be fooled into thinking otherwise.
EULAs are worthless in the EU and they're still pulling this shit over here as well. Doesn't the US have any limitations in this regard?READ THE EULA's

The EU basically says "EULAs are always bad for the customer and if you fail to point out everything in that EULA before purchase, it's worthless". That means, every time I click "I accept" just to make something work, I don't accept anything. The fact that I've paid for the product gives me access to it, and I don't have to get into any kind of agreement afterwards.
Ok that right there is 10x more ridiculous and unbelievable than disabling RB. Up to $99 DLC and a $29 annual subscription to a 99¢ iOS Tetris. It's absolutely amazing and astonishing that a company would have the gall to even offer such options.
Randomvince seems eagerly defensive ... I'm starting to wonder ...
yeah.... right.....EA has officially backed off.
Defensive about what? Spell it out if youre going to insinuate anything.
As far as I'm concerned, EA are the worst thing to happen to gaming. Don't know how you could confuse that for defending anything, other than basic consumer rights.
A mistake. Sure.
Watch, EA and a few other companies will do this a few more times then pull back at the last second. The furor among gamers will be lessened with each incidence. That's when they spring it for real. It's a kind of social engineering. Carefully manufactured malaise. All it takes is time. And it does work every time. Do you think a law like the SOPA legislation wont be back? It will be. And again and again and again, it will be back. As many times as it takes. Because eventually people get tired of fighting. Works every time.
Do you really think that the same company that renders their Madden games unplayable online after just 2 years in order to push people into buying the newest version would have any problem with totally abandoning a small iOS game? This is the forefront of the DD future most game publishers have been dreaming about.
I'm not trying to rile anybody up to do something about it. Quite the opposite. I'm saying don't bother doing anything about it. Because they will just keep coming at you with this kind of thing until you finally give up fighting. Get a small percentage to agree that it's a good idea and work up from there. Eventually you get enough people that agree that "used game sales are killing the industry"...oops meant to say "it's their software, they can do whatever they want with it. you only bought a license to use the software".
With RB-club points you can buy to increase in Rock level and fill your progress bar quicker and show it off to your RB-club friends. Tetris v2.Coming soon: Rock Band Blitz.
The key word here is "eager".
As in you are trying to be offended, as if not being offended will somehow invalidate what you are actually offended by.
You do come off that way.
I mean, you did just imply that I and other users you don't like were all involved in some sort of secret Plant conspiracy.
