Boston wasteland sounds terrible. But so what, I have faith.

There's no set of games I expect to be improved more by the improved power of the new consoles than Fallout and the Elder Scrolls games so I am more hyped to see what Bethesda can do here than I am for anything else. I'm expecting a massive, massive leap in visual fidelity and animation. Fallout 3 was one ugly, ugly game.

Well, that whole setting is kinda what makes the series unique. Otherwise we'd just get Bethesda Wasteland.

Other countries were interesting in the 50's too, y'know. I do take it as more of a 50's thing than a 50's America thing. But... yeah, I can see why people do take the Americana as being a crucial component.

Damn I think I just wet myself with excitement, hope it's not fake. Seems life a lifetime of waiting for the next fallout, 2015 would be rather nice Bethesda.

The trademark was discovered a while back, here is a video about two different trademarks discovered last week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nr4m4i5Zr14

It's interesting. This time last year the exact same thing happened, if fact, it looked even more likely a VGX reveal was going to happen last year.

We had [FALLOUT: 4] trademarked, Three Dogs voice actor teasing, Survivor 2299, and the VGXs coming up. All happening around the same time. Obviously, nothing came of any of them.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for this, either.

I so hope there will be a location that has fully used the geek, so we get some green and white in all this brown and grey to look at.

Yes its all about the propaganda etc. but US was not alone in this. Russian propaganda has been exploited so many times too already. Japan in the 50s must have been a fascinating place, post war, still many emperor loyalists left, new era opening to the world again.

A Fallout set in China or Hawaii would be interesting. Maybe Russia, but I'm totally fine with the series staying in the US.

After 5 times (not counting arpg spin offs) Im ready for something new setting wise.

Hopefully it's true for the people who are looking forward to the game. Here's hoping this VGX will be good atleast (I doubt it, apart from the game announcements)

"Patent office" listings and the game subtitle just make it really dubious. Happy to be proven wrong though

wasn't the rumor behind this like some really weird ass cyberpunk/wasteland mix that kinda was like neocron-ish in tone?

.

It's Americana, though, not necessarily propaganda that's the biggest theme of Fallout.

Right down to the destroyed picket fences and old cars and throwbacks to classic radio. Right down to the pin-stripe suits and fedoras. It's 40's and 50's Americana.

Was VGX 2014 already announced?

Teased.

This is not a German trademark. This is a European trademark and these have turn out to be fake multiple times in the past. We had a very similar European trademark for Fallout 4 that turned out to be fake last year.

Well since Keighley (the host of the VGA/X) just recently visited Bethesda there might be more to it this time.

Not really. There was a Fallout 4, a Half Life 3 and a Shenmue 3 trademark last year. All turned out to be fake. Here is a bit more info on how the OHIM operates. They publish the trademarks before they examine them.

Last week, a trademark for Fallout 4 was submitted to the OHIM but it was eventually examined by officials and discarded. In October, a bogus Half-Life 3 application appeared online but was also discarded after being examined.

A spokesperson for OHIM could not comment on individual cases, but provided CVG with documents which explained how anyone can apply for a trademark - meaning the website is exposed to fakes for a short period of time.

One key sign for all community trademark applications of this kind is a "classification examination" tick box. Until OHIM officials tick this box, the application is unverified.

As of right now the trademark for Fallout 4 is still under examination. Until that is finished we have a no idea if it is fake or not.

Well it is about time for a new Fallout I think. 4 Years since New Vegas now. I'm guessing next autumn. Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim was all released October/November
