I haven't been following this. Does it have the extra GBA dungeons or the PSone cut scenes?
You sure this isn't some newgrounds flash game?
Honestly I thought he had the worst of the original portraits. Shame since he's awesome.
You'd really have to be blind not to notice that everything is redone and not simply upscaled. It's redone, then upscaled. They probably did that because the target specs for these ports are iPhone 3GS levels of hardware it seems, and if the sprites were of an even higher resolution they wouldn't run well on those devices. At any rate, many of the things like the tiling issues, or the blur around each character has due to upscaling that seem very evident on a computer screen are not so when actually played on a device with a way smaller screen.
Clearly, yes. You not personally liking something is not the definition of "cutting corners".
I just don't understand why, if they went through the trouble of redrawing all the character sprites, they came out looking this shitty.

Is this the first mobile game ever that releases first on Android?
looks like a greenlight game
Pictlogica also came out on Android first.

Music sounds like the SNES version with more clarity.
Other than the battle backgrounds, the music and sound FX are surprisingly good. They are true to the SNES version. But that's about it regarding the good qualities.
Was this a newly added feature as well? Memo are always good.
The character portraits are generally well done from what's seen so far. Very true to Amano's drawing. In fact, I think those ARE Amano's design themselves.
Enemies sprites are actually good too, along with parts of the field background.
No way, it's more like they told someone to trace and paint with more solid colors Amano's sketches for the portraits of the original.

How is the PS1 version on the Vita? I heard there are some rough load times? Does the Disc Load Speed option help at all? Any additions to that version?
It's more or less identical to the SNES version. I'm actually playing through the PS1 version on Vita right now, and while the load times are longer than they should be, they're not a dealbreaker (for me anyway, I've heard some people can't deal with them).
I've tried with the Disc Load Speed set to both options but haven't really noticed a difference.
You can change it to 4 way movement instead of 8 way.Why oh why do they allow diagonal movement. Moving around in this game is an exercise in frustration.

They aren't the actual art pieces. These are the actual art pieces those pictures are based off of:
So the long neck is actually very true to the original art pieces
Edgar looks more Dragoon like with the new sprite. Works for me, since that is his ultimate setup with Dragon Boots + Dragon Gloves.
What the hell are Dragon Gloves? I always use Mog as the dragoon though, because Edgar already has reliable damage with Tools and Dance is terrible.
Check the enlarged version of that image. So much inconsistency in the resolution of all the objects and UI interface.
It'll probably look fine on a small screen, but how well will this age when resolutions and screen sizes increase?
Hopefully at some point they'll upgrade the sprites like they did in FFT mobile.
