Honestly when there's only one or two players left in the game I almost prefer them activating the phone and calling the cops.

Speaking of having one or two players left... I really hope something can be done about people who spend all 20 minutes of a match hiding. Probably half of my games run the full 20 because someone has been under a bed, in a wardrobe or sitting behind an out of the way rock the whole time. I can't come up with a solution that doesn't have a work around to even suggest though.

Hiding in one spot for too long, not matter how well lit, will slowly increase fear. Even counselors with high composure and fear reducing perks have to move eventually because fear will hit a certain point where Jason can see you with sense.

Main suggestion from me would be to take out all of the generators and pulse sense in and off while morphing.

Thanks guys!! I honestly could never find it and the few times I have, it was just out of luck. lol

its a lot harder as a counsellor because the power boxes arent on the map. I kind of think it would be best if once you have discovered something its marked on the map. there have been times I've found the fuse box, later found the fuse and couldn't remember where the box was originally.

I'm someone who wants to try this game, but is wary of jumping in with the server / matchmaking issues. I definitely don't want to wait 10 minutes to find a game, and I don't want frequent disconnects while playing.

That said, I'm finding it difficult to find info online on the current status of the game following recent patches, if they've made significant improvements, or if I should hold off for further patches.

Specifically, I'm looking for info on the PS4 version. Could anyone share their current experiences, or point me in the right direction? Thanks.

It's waaaay better now than it was prior to the patch. It's not perfect but you shouldn't have a problem finding a game.

There is at least 2, sometimes 3 different parties composed of GAF members and their friends going nightly. It's relatively easy to get into one. Shoot me a FR on PSN : Voorhees

Just got caught in a trap in the first 5 minutes of the game trying to use the phone box. I got free, then my game glitched and I just died for no reason. Pretty fucking pissed.

How much better of a chance do you have of being Jason if you set him as your preference?

My guess is since that is everybody's preference as well so not much. The way I look at it is whenever a game starts everybody has a 12% chance at being Jason if there are 8 players in the game.

If I don't set that as my preference I don't get him at all. With him as my preference, I've got him an average of two times a night when playing with a group for an entire night of maybe 20+ games. I see everyone else (even people without that as preference) getting fourth and fifth turns over me. Last night two people just went back and forth getting him over and over. I still don't think that system is working properly. There are times where I'm the only one in the room playing a particular Jason, and when the match starts and it shows him, I get shocked and think it's finally me, only to find it actually picked the one player in the room that had their Jason as Random, and the game just picked the same one I would've used anyway.

I don't even bother hoping for it at this point.

Is this 100%? I only question it because your suggestion is exactly what I do with no results. Maybe my game is bugged though because...

With my preference set to Jason I get him every few games which is not other peoples experience at all. The way other people describe their Jason experience is the same as if I have my preference set to counselor. 2-3 out of 15-20 games.

Does this game require teamwork? I'm not a huge online gamer but I love Friday The 13th movies and want to play this. I'm just not a fan of talking with a mic on startegizing and shit.

You can play it without talking but it's a lot harder on you. If you all communicate and work together it's a lot easier to fix the car, boat, call cops, etc. If playing with randoms I mute myself or just chat in a party. So it can be done.

Teamwork helps, but you can get by if you keep an eye on the objectives and the positions of other counselors on the map.... but it's A LOT more fun when you try to coordinate (even when the plan fails).

This game can be frustrating to play when people won't communicate. If you find the fuse, and then die in the middle of the woods, then I've lost a way to escape because you never told me that you have it. I hate searching cabins not knowing if someone found the fuse or keys or whatever. Or hey, where's Jason? Which people are going to that car? Is the shotgun in there? Do you have a perk that makes the cops arrive in less time?

It doesn't REQUIRE it, but it sure as hell helps.

It isn't just you it helps, it helps everyone else as well. The game was designed around communication. If you die carrying the battery and the keys in the middle of the woods you have essentially screwed everyone else. It is just unfair to the other seven players...

I've done it a couple times but when I see a player not moving for a ridiculous amount of time I make as much noise as possible at the cabin he's in and directly stand in front of the bed or wardrobe. We both die, but it's fucking stupid to make everyone else spectating, Jason included, look for you for 20 minutes.

Does betraying someone and quitting still get you the negative points?

I don't think so. It seems to mainly be to give you little to no xp during the match.

I accidently killed someone and though I got slapped with -1000 xp and that was more than I earned in the match, i still got 1 xp which I guess is the minimum.

It probably isn't bugged. However, if you take out all the lights, and start searching the map, you will eventually be able to see them glowing red. It takes time, though.

As much as it isn't a great time spectating people who are hiding, it is a valuable part of the game. If you have three minutes left, and everyone else is dead, then it may be your best chance of survival, and will at least buy you some time.

It really depends on the Jason. I've seen a Buggzy stay in a tent and survive for 10 minutes because the Jason didn't bother to ever check them. And he was playing as a Jason with reduced Sense range.

So I have been so obssessed with this game the last couple weeks I've even started thinking about random shit like..

if the counsellors in the game were the cast of characters in a new Friday the 13th movie who is the main character?

For me the two that stand out as possible final girls are Jenny and AJ but Jenny is just a bit too bland for me so I would go with AJ as the final girl and lead character on Friday the 13th The Game The Movie.

I would have Jenny start out seeming like she is the main girl, only for her to be killed off early on, the other kids oblivious to the fact she's gone. AJ being a bit different and alternative is seen as an outsider by the others and Chad the preppy douche has a bet on with Kenny and Brandon to see who can sleep with her first. Except Kenny is turns out really starts to like AJ.

Tiffany has a thing for Brandon which makes her immediately dislike AJ. JR pines after Tiffany and is to blind to realise the secret under appreciated hottie Deborah has a thing for him!

Vanessa is to busy training for track to be romantically involved with anyone and Adam.. maybe he is a platonic friend of AJ's.

Yeah.. I've been thnking to much about all of this lol.

Jenny is initially focused on, and is incredibly competent, but ultimately it is a ruse. She is a faux protagonist. When it looks like she has a handle on everything, Chad fucks the plan up, and Jenny dies brutally.

Yeah.. I've been thnking to much about all of this lol.

Woah there, dude. Deborah is clearly the main and AJ is her lover.

The Update.

Update: The Update is Going Live for PS4 and Steam Users. Should be live around 30min after this post.

However, a note directly from studio head Wes Keltner for Xbox One Users in regards to the continued crashes and the lack of patch for today.

"I wanted to take a moment to update our Xbox One Users. Both on the current state of the build and the imminent “Retro Jason” patch.

Retro Jason Patch

Unfortunately, our patch that was to include the Retro Jason has not passed certification for Xbox One. This was due in part to some instability of the new content AND the memory leak issue mentioned below. This is an unfortunate turn of events, as we had hoped to add the skin and content while continuing to work on these issues, however, this has become our top priority for Xbox One users. We’ve narrowed some memory leak crashes down, and we are currently back in certification and are hoping to have the new content out to you just as soon as we can, however, we are not certain when that will be.

Crashes

The XB1 build of the game has been unstable since launch. I know, I know..tell you something you don’t know, right? The problem is a memory leak in the engine, and our guys are working to fix this leak. I know it appears on the surface that PC and PS4 players are getting some favoritism on this front, but that’s not true. We have been working very hard on the XB1 version, this has just been a tougher problem to track down. When we test internally, we can play the game for 15-20 matches in a row on XB1 and only have one player crash out. On the exact same build, we can test again and get 3-4 players crashing out after only a few matches. Again, this all points to a memory leak.

So what is a memory leak?

Basically, when a program (in our case a game) uses memory, it is supposed to “release” said memory when not in use. When a leak occurs, memory is not being released properly or in some cases at all. Almost every game suffers from this, but they are usually so small, that the end user doesn’t notice it. Ours is very noticeable. We’ve narrowed some down and have fixed them but there are more. We are actively working on finding and fixing them as fast as we can. I wish we knew the exact amount of time required to fix it, but at times can be like a needle in a haystack. But we’re getting some outside help, from other colleagues in the industry that have had this identical problem. This in an effort to speed it up, or at least avoid some hurdles getting to the root of the problem.

What we Know

Here’s what we do know. We failed certification, we then immediately put in some quick fixes and re-submitted for certification with MS early this morning. Tomorrow morning (Wednesday) we will get an update from MS on this patch. If everything checks out and we pass, then Retro Jason will be available within that patch. This could be same day or Thursday morning. However, if we fail certification again, we will continue to work on fixes to get this content out ASAP.

I want to personally apologize to all XB players. Both for the memory leak causing all the crashes, for the bad matchmaking, and for this content delay. We were very excited to get XB players this awesome update, as you all deserve some cool stuff, given the circumstances. This is on me and I’m sorry. We’re doing our best to make it right, just as fast as we can. As soon as I know more, you will know more. You are our priority right now, and few of us are sleeping until we solve it.

-W"

Man being a xb1 user has really bit me in the ass regarding this game... The sad thing is, I have a ps4, I just went with the Xbox version due to having more friends online to play with. This is so frustrating...

It's another day or two for a free gift. We will survive.

So is Matchmaking and general quality of play better now from Launch on PS4?

Thinking about buying this to get me over the 100 dollar mark to get me the 15 back.
