What does any of that have to do with the fact that there are settings in games that push pc hardware? Go look at Crysis 3. I already gave examples of how this card could be used in previous posts.

This is a) mostly incorrect, Witcher 2's lead platform was PC, the same goes for W3 and b) irrelevant to the question about what game will be pushing what card when maxed.
But everyone buying these dual-GPU cards knows this, it's always been like that so no big deal imo.

There are probably a few gaffers and if more tech-focused enthusiast forums are any indication there are a large contingent who wants to push it almost no matter the cost.

Nah, I am going to wait for the 20 nm Maxwells. More bang for the bucks and my current 2 x 580 GTX 3GB setup actually mostly gives me enough frames.
I haven't moved to 4K yet but when I do I am going to need that 20 nm goodness.

I'm looking forward to seeing the dual Titan Z builds popping up in the "I Need a New PC" thread.
My old E6600 was a beast of a chip. Overclocked for days and lasted so long.

The article lists the price but it fails to list the specs of the PC other than the graphics card.
With what they showed with Pascal, it won't be all that large. The test unit they had was surprisingly small and isn't due out for few years.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about PC gaming culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is with console manufacturers where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in PC land, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the PC gaming public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase the GTX Titan Z, nor will they purchase any of Nvidia's GPUs. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Nvidia has alienated an entire market with this move.
Nvidia, publicly apologize and price drop this sucker or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Not sure how they alienated an entire market segment with boisterous marketing. Most of us know they're full of shit and that "serious gamers" don't need a Titan Z. Most of us know that most of that card's capabilities are going to go to waste this generation as we continue to get shoddy, poorly optimized, ports that don't even take 4k or higher resolutions into account.
It's all marketing bluster and hype. "Serious gamers" will still buy the 770s and 780s of the world and point and laugh at the Titan Z. Then they'll laugh at it again when, thanks to the industry's obsessive belief in Moore's Law, the Titan Z is outclassed by a future card at a a third of the price tag.
