I can't help you if you don't like Halo or think it's a good series. But blaming Halo for a lack of current, decent first person shooters is kind of silly imo.RooMHM said:Where is that HAHA, OH WOW jpg when we need it most.
Also I'd like to ignore Halo if it didn't do anay harm which isn't the case. The number of games sold has lead developer to think the game was good or even interesting and that's very far from my opinion. It has literally killed the FPS genre by puting a console lead for a genre thats not adapted to consoles at all even with the downgrades in gameplay and the over simplification of its mechanisms. Let's see where Arena FPS are now ... I don't see any. Competitive FPS? No more. I think the last one was Painkiller.
Because it has set the nom (I wonder how because its inferior to almost everything that was done before on PC), the FPS genre has known a continual downgrade like a creative blackhole. I'd really love to ignore Halo.

It's not about polluting threads, it's about changing the opinions. I believe that if you prefer something that is worse it's because you don't really know the better games. This lack of knowledge (ignorance of the PC scene) among the gamers is the only cause to this imo. is it wrong to try and show that there are more interesting things?

RooMHM said:For me halo is the game that started the FPS crash. After the success of halo, the FPS genre never stopped going down with auto aiming, slow paced gameplay, iron sights, limited movement, generic weapons, tea bagging, etc... It brought the casual and the immature people into my favorite genre. I'm a PC player and halo killed my favorite genre.
RooMHM said:The whole speech makes me puke. Halo is the cancer of FPS.
"Best multiplayer maps of all times". If this doesn't make you rage, then video games are done.
RooMHM said:Halo. It has slowly killed an entire genre by dumbing down all its components for console players.

Not knowing a lot of his or 343i's history, that's kind of damning. He really named Heavy Rain GOTY? Yikes.StuBurns said:I think this is probably for the best. In a year Halo Reach comes out, if you name Heavy Rain your game of the year, you should not be directing Halo 4.

I hope he makes something awesome, I'm sure he can.
I don't understand what sleep paralysis has to do with depression though.
There's a huge difference between believing Reach is perfect, and thinking Heavy Rain is better. I do think 343i should mix up the formula, if for no other reason than no one has made a console shooter as good as Halo, so they almost certainly can't either, and the closer it is to normal Halo, the easier it will be to compare it to the other entries.madmackem said:I think thats the type of people you need, the game will be carbon copy if it had people who thought reach was the best halo could be and went down a checklist for the development of halo 4. I guess this is the path they are taking and could be the reason hes left. Im all for sticking to what you know but if you aint willing to take risks then you end up carbon copys.

The problem is its the only thing they seem to be investing talent in, their better be a ton of new IP from them next gen.Pie and Beans said:Its a shame MS didnt see the benefit of letting the man make some stuff for their console with another new party setup. 343 is an interesting collection of talent, but that its all seemingly manacled with Halo seems a bit of a waste.
