That is patently false. The Xbox One version runs below 60 fps and exhibits tearing the vast majority of the time. That's not to say it sits at 30-35 fps all the time, but it routinely hangs under 60 fps. It's nowhere near stable.
Just out of curiosity, what are the specs of this $500 PC from a couple years back? I'm interested.
I don't get anywhere close to that kind of impression. Been playing Titanfall on my xbox one with decent regularity for well over a week now, and I would describe it as a game with quite good performance that definitely feels like it's running at a solid 60fps or extremely close to it the larger majority of my play time. It isn't even a case where I've just been having so much fun that I didn't notice, or that I haven't been looking out for it, because I certainly have been. I very rarely, if ever, find myself in situations where performance is a legitimate detriment to my ability to do exactly what I need to do when I need to do it.
Only ever really notice anything amiss in those most hectic or busiest of situations when the action gets really crazy, but even those aren't long or frequent enough to weigh too heavily against the game. Can it be better? I suppose, and the devs have said that they can improve performance further after they ship, and if they really can or will, fantastic, but I certainly wouldn't complain with it being as it is currently. Every game I've played, even the ones where I've gotten my ass kicked, have all felt really good.
I've really learned since getting my system and having some real time and experience with the game that the performance isn't anywhere nearly as catastrophic on the Xbox One as some had been making it seem. Who knows, maybe I'm not as susceptible to things like tearing as much as some of the folks here, but there hasn't been a single game where I found myself stressing about the performance, because it hasn't bothered me. And just to end off, Titans really don't seem to last long enough in the games I've been in for there to ever be so many that it causes performance issues. I suspect they're the culprits, but they get absolutely hammered in the games I've played. Calling in a Titan is like making yourself a massive bullseye because it seems like everyone, myself included, just focus exclusively on them once they appear. I enjoy fighting them. It's a constantly exciting thing to do, especially when they aren't aware of your presence, but it's still pretty damn fun when they see you also. I've had quite a few games where I could've called in my Titan 3 to 4 (maybe more) times, but I usually only end up doing it once, or not at all, because playing the pilot is so fun. Also, proud to say I'm not trying to earn my camping badge like some players I've come across.
