I still think its gon be 250. They hitting all the right spots, killed it with switch announcement they cant be too stupid and ruin it with a 300$ tag
It's kind of obvious that they taking some shipments from the next FY to have some good news to provide.

nintendo releases happen on fridays now. a march 31 release is not outside the realm of possibility.
Remember when people on here said we wouldn't get any news? Lol
Anyways 2 million sounds like a good number and going by what Kimishima says I think they'll go for $250.
It sounds like $250 is only happening if they can sell each unit at-cost or make a profit.

There's a key "but" to Kimishima's quote that makes me think they will try to move mountains for the price tag, all the same.
No, you're just being overly pessimistic. I wouldn't say it's obvious, although I can see them overestimating it. They're either really confident on their reveal or they're just overshipping it.
Disagreed here. The only right spot nailed with the switch announcement is the name and the message of the video. As for the hardware itself, it looks great. But the software choice was questionnable at best.
The lack of information until 2 months before launch is a silly strategy considering they'll lose some momentum. And there's a lot of things that remains to be seen, like price and battery life. Nintendo insisting on NS being a home console means to me that's a convenient excuse for the last two points.

Man, I hope so. If they can launch this at $250, I foresee very good things.
Not that $299 would spell disaster or anything.
It is quite depressing seeing Matt's comments and yours as well as others saying 2 million units for the worldwide launch is being optimistic "lucky if they sell that in March"... being a worldwide launch of hopefully an exciting piece of HW one would expect more... I wonder if they are intentionally capping production, or if they are filling warehouses, or if the console has maybe not even entered final mass production yet.., thinking about t hey could even start in late December and keep manufacturing and assembly going at a moderate if not slow pace and have over 2 million units... unless manufacturing is a problem for some reason.
Lmao my sidesEven 250 dollars is expensive. Despite what Nintendo says, it's a handheld. So unless they come up with the most amazing library ever, this won't cut it over 200 dollars.

Imo if they cant do less than 299 they 'd better bundle something with it. Not talking about AAA stuff, just some mini games compilation like Wii Sports or even Wii Play.Man, I hope so. If they can launch this at $250, I foresee very good things.

The software choice was fine what were you looking for? The showed a rpg, nintendo games and sports games. What else they was supposed to show? According to social media people loved it.No, you're just being overly pessimistic. I wouldn't say it's obvious, although I can see them overestimating it. They wont lose any momentum either, people said that same junk for pokemon go and it blew up in yall face. Take it nobody care now cause its about how you support the product in the end.

This is a different Nintendo they wasnt aiming to create an advertisement that appeal to you. As a Nintendo player you know what you gonna get. I mean they aint even have children in the advertisement.I don't think I said something funny, so please enlight me.
I was looking for Not-5yearsoldX360game, Not-3yearsoldMK8port, Not-2yearsoldSplatoonport. I know some people will argue how it's amazing and such. I mean, Wii U unveiled with NSMB Mii, Wii Sports HD.

you know they can't sell this for 200$.
their marketing will be in full force about the home console side (which if you want you can take on the go), people will accept a 250 (even 299) pricetag, provided the software line up is there.

250$ is a good price. Underestimating the potential value my guy

How is that a different Nintendo ? No, no, as a Nintendo player, I don't know what I'm getting. All I saw was ports of games I own. They're aiming for mainstream audience ? The same audience who likely played Skyrim 5 years ago ?
Why not ? I thought they had an amazing Nvidia deal. The only expensive thing in here is the Tegra SoC, which we suppose they had it for cheaper.
PS4 did a clean mil in a day tho
hmm
Nobody but Nintendo thought $250 for the 3DS was a good idea.250 dollars is expensive for a handheld. People also though 250 dollars was good for 3DS or Vita.
Guess Bethesda should cancel that SE version of Skyrim coming out in a few days. (Not saying it's appealing to you or me, but it is appealing to someone if they're rereleasing the game now)They're aiming for mainstream audience ? The same audience who likely played Skyrim 5 years ago ?
Matt's point was people are being stupid with unrealistic expectations. 2 million in like 2 weeks would be fantastic numbers. The PS4 is an aberration in sales numbers at a launch period. Wii sold 1.3 million worldwide its first week roughly.
So if Switch can get to 2 million its doing quite well.
I'm curious how you own a 64-esc new Mario game.

Skyrim shouldn't be some outstanding title on a possible Switch launch lineup. It's something that should just exist on Switch too. It's like the standard canon of a modern console.
They are marketing and selling it as a hybrid. We literally havent had anything like it before. Everyone I know are comparing this to their ps4 or xbox one in terms of functionality. Its a home console you can take with you. If you are following mainstream news and not neogaf all day you can see these people have a different perspective on what Nintendo is offering. Why not ? I thought they had an amazing Nvidia deal. The only expensive thing in here is the Tegra SoC, which we suppose they had it for cheaper.

Yeah but by that time the damage will have already been done and 3rd parties will have bailed. Nintendo isn't in some luxurious position they need this to sell well from the start.250 bucks seems to low if u ask me here. 299 bucks is more logical if they don't want to take any loss. And considering their comment on selling on profit, i can see them selling on 299 bucks and then cutting the price into 250 bucks after 1 and a half year released.
