Isn't this dishonest? He made Peace Walkers, bro. And was involved with stuff like Metal Gear Rising.
But remember that PW was originally going to be MGS V, until Konami said otherwise and made him change the name.

Kiefer is the only voice talent so far. Highly doubt he ballooned the budget. Also lets not forget. Kojima made the Fox Engine which makes everything more efficient. Konami owns that and will no doubt profit off the engine he created.
TLG is peanuts compared to AAA budgets. I don't remember where to find the info but it's budget has been relatively meager iirc. After The Last Guardian? Nope.
Why do you care so much about publishers profits? You're a gamer first of all. Kojima was sacked because he was trying to stand up for you and all us gamers. That's why fuck Konami.

It was always painfully obvious that Kojima was basically burning money over at Konami. 5-7 year development time, massive investment into an MGS online mode that nobody will give 2 fucks about, hiring Hollywood voice actors instead of talent that would probably work for scale.
But there was a subset of fans who were content to stick their heads in the sand over the whole thing. "Konami just hates Kojima 'cause Konami is stupid and doesn't know what they are doing!" As if they would kill the goose that laid the golden egg out of stupidity or spite or something?
https://youtu.be/ew6fv9UUlQ8?t=12sJust think its kinda funny when people say one man is responsible for something that comes from a big team. I am sure Fox Engine is the work of tons of people.
no, It him almost 7 years to make a mgs5, no game company in the planet would allow him to do that.
Its hard to say that Kojima made Fox Engine... his team made it possible, and of course, its tech that will most probably stay with Konami.
Kojima might've had certain direction or need from the engine based on how he likes to work.

Personally, I'm taking any publicly given reason not coming from Kojima/Konami as to the reason for Kojima and Kojima Productions dismissal with a grain of salt. Too much "He said, she said" type stuff coming out, and while it could be true it could also be false. I dislike people talking trash against Kojima and Konami (Yes, even Konami, despite how shitty they've been lately in regards to other things) without knowing the the truth and facts.
At this point, I just hope that Phantom Pain is everything that's been promised and winds up as a glorious send off to one of my favorite gaming franchises ever.
Round of applause for Kojima wanting to stick to his guns by following the artistic vision and make a perfect product with no short cuts and downgrades.
I don't think Konami values having their own engine that much simply because their output is so infrequent. I have to peg that as a vanity project of Kojima's......everyone else would have been likely satisfied using 3rd party middleware, but he has to build his own engine from the ground up.
How are they going to profit off of the Fox Engine? The market for licensing technology is already overcrowded.
Konami needed Kojima. Kojima doesn't need Konami.
Snatcher, outside of a couple of references, has zero to do with metal gear. The MSX games were hugely popular (relative to their audience), and the main series he worked on in between - Snatcher - is a spin off of Metal Gear.

HE represents his team and his team represents him. No doubt he had a commanding hand in that engine though.
I find it BS that Konami is totally scrubbing Kojima Productions from the game.
So the source hasn't been a composer on the series since MGS3? Why then are we assuming she's up to date on what's happening between Kojima and Konami?
I'm sure Kojima had a lot of input in the development of the Fox Engine, but I don't think it would be accurate to say he created it himself.
If you count the NES series, sure. It's part of the whole deal, but there were a good 10 or so years where he didn't work on Metal Gear and then he just rebooted it - I always felt like MGS really started and became successful with Solid.
lol no
Fuck"She's worked directly with Kojima for the music before so she does have some insight, and personally believes that the music has suffered in MGSV because she's not a part of it, because they couldn't afford her."
Source in french OG source on a PODCAST
Apparently Kojima was super expensive, he was getting payed a fixed rate regardless of how much the game sells. He also delayed the game because he was unhappy countless times.
He also just pulled general Kojima-esque things, like have the music composer (I'm guessing Harry Greggson Williams?) make a bunch of songs, then he doesn't like them so he doesn't bother using them after they payed for them.
The source of the info is Rika Muranaka, one of the composers on MGS1-2-3.
She says he was let go for not being business oriented.

They ought to have given MGSV 6 months before firing Kojima.

For games, yes. Lol
Maybe Nintendo will sign him up?
Couldn't they just tell him to chill the fuck out, with regards to expenditures?
There was no need to fire the best thing to ever happen to Konami :/
