Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D -- The Yellow Debate

Just pretend he's there for the good of all people and that's Namco's adult Link design.

Oh wait, that makes it even worse possibly.

I mean he's acting as a censor!!!!!!
It vindicates those who thought Link was Zelda though :p

For the sake of non-watermarked images, I was able to retrieve the landscape (without Link and Epona, neither the OoT3D logo) as seen in the japanese teaser site. Was a bit much trickier than usual from the Nintendo flash developers but, you know, I'm better than that :lol

Personal angry complain:
Seriously, this is a frakking shame that 1) Nintendo still doesnt release to the public their press kits; 2) websites out there so-called professionals still watermark every single jpg on their site, even artworks provided by publishers; This isn't internet in 2004 anymore guys.

Old? Game includes Master Quest and a new mode called "Boss Challenge".

Finally. They should have done this years ago.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D comes to Europe on 17th June and North America on 19th June.

A LEGEND RETURNS IN MAGICAL 3D THIS JUNE

Experience The Legend of Zelda™: Ocarina of Time 3D in the palm of your hand, exclusively on Nintendo 3DS

19th April, 2011 – One of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time has returned, this time in full 3D - without the need for glasses - and exclusively to Nintendo 3DS. Brace yourselves this summer as The Legend of Zelda™: Ocarina of Time 3D - a masterful enhancement on one of the landmark releases in video game history – comes to Europe on 17th June, 2011.

With phenomenally re-mastered graphics and new stunning 3D visuals, fans of the original game and newcomers alike will be able to marvel at this gaming classic to join the daring adventures of one of video-gaming’s greatest heroes – Link!

Guide Link – a young boy who is tasked with saving the land of Hyrule from Ganondorf, the Gerudo King of Thieves. The evil Ganondorf is intent on gaining mastery both over the land of Hyrule and time itself and he is led by his ambition to overthrow the current Royal Family of Htrule. It is up to Link to stop him in his tracks as you guide him on a magical journey through time. Explore vast landscapes, mythical temples, dungeons, towns and villages, as well as interact with many different characters and battle various enemies – all in stunning 3D.

The game’s original control scheme has been completely re-designed to fully make the best use of the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS system. Players will be able to control Link by utilising the Circle Pad whilst the Touch Screen of the Nintendo 3DS is used to assign items, check maps and ensure that Link is wearing the appropriate equipment - all in a fresh and intuitive way. Players can also take advantage of the in-built gyro sensor of the Nintendo 3DS; the implemented motion controls allow you to look around your environment when in first person perspective simply by physically moving the Nintendo 3DS system.

Not only does the fully-3D gameplay experience provide easier in-game navigation, but an improved and intuitive interface gives you better control as you solve puzzles, travel through time and explore the immersive land of Hyrule. Players not so familiar to the Legend of Zelda series can also get a helping hand through bite sized videos available in-game which will provide hints on how to solve puzzles encountered during your journey.

Fans of the original game will be pleased to know that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D also heralds the inclusion of two brand new additional challenges not available in the original game; Master Quest and Boss Challenge.

Master Quest mode will see some surprising changes to the game. Puzzles will have to be thought about and solved in new ways from the main Story mode, whilst items and enemies will be found in different locations. The land of Hyrule has also been reversed as locations are mirrored - so what would ordinarily have been on the right now appears on the left and vice versa. Enemies will also prove more difficult to beat, and as such the greater complexity involved in this new Master Quest will test the gameplay abilities of even the most seasoned fans and prove a new experience for all.

The new Boss Challenge mode acts as an extra treat for those players who reach a certain point within the game. It will provide players with the opportunity to face any of the previous Bosses they have defeated once again, or, the option to face and confront them one-by-one, all in a continuous battle.

The game’s graphical re-working coupled with the three-dimensional depth provided by your Nintendo 3DS breathes new life into this timeless classic. Whether you're a first-time player or a regular visitor to Hyrule, the engaging, immersive gameplay features of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D offers a magical new adventure for all.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D launches across Europe, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS, on 17th June, 2011.

Wait. What the hell? In MQ on the Gamecube disc, it's not like that...the dungeons are different, but everything being mirrored? wat

Wait, was the original Master Quest mirrored?

Nope. Overworld was identical. Dungeons had the exact same layout as the original, but the items and puzzles in them were changed around.

This master quest on the 3DS version sounds much more extensive than the original MQ.

I'm now looking forward to playing through this new Master Quest - sounds like they're going all out with it. In the original one, I don't remember the enemies and bosses being harder either.

And the boss mode sounds cool. I absolutely love the Arena (and the two extruciatingly difficult other Arenas) on Kirby Super Star, so I'm cool with this kind of stuff.

Haha, the mirroring of Master Quest is awesome. Such a strange choice but a good one imo. After mirror mode in Mario Kart and playing the cube version of TP after the Wii's, I'll never underestimate how different a game can feel just because it's mirrored :O

Boss rush is great as well.

Does anybody remember if the original Master Quest had more difficult enemies also? I don't remember it well enough to notice if the 3DS version has any changes.

This actually sounds pretty interesting.

It's been a while since I've played Ocarina of Time, so all this new info is getting me hyped.

They should make the kokiri village optional. They also should make navi optional.

I wish that press release would've confirmed whether or not we have to beat the original story mode before unlocking Master Quest. I dread it, as a huge fan and player of the original. If I get this, I'd like the experience to be as fresh as possible.

Why WOULDN'T you want to replay the original game first to see all the improvements they've made?

You have to complete the original before unlocking MQ, pretty sure it was confirmed in a previous press release.

Because I'd get to see all of those improvements, only I wouldn't know the solutions to all of the puzzles if I got to play Master Quest from the outset. It's not like the storyline is different in MQ. I adore this game, but imo it's only a justifiable purchase if I can experience it as fresh as possible. I personally don't like replaying linear storylines in games, but for this game I would do so, if the meat of the game (puzzles) is altered enough to seem new to me.

Did you not play the original Master Quest? The puzzles were completely different...

Yup, that's what I'm saying...I played the original, haven't played MQ, thus I would like to play MQ from the outset because the puzzles are different while keeping the storyline intact. I'm sure others are cool with reliving all of the old puzzles and whatnot, but I personally don't like doing that.

Luckily for me, I have a very selective memory (while also being very photogenic): I can basically purge 90% of the puzzles from my memory, if I so choose :)

Looks great (from the screens) maybe they added some new stuff to the game, I don't remember that tent house. I thought the archery/carnival place was on the left.

Nvm that house is the mask shop.

Loving how castle town looks. The buildings look as though they have more character than in the N64 version and the colours look superb too. Oh man, I can't wait to explore this game and see all the nice changes that have taken place.

also love how you can clearly make out hyrule castle and the temple of time in the background <3

I always wished Castel Town would be as colorful as the town in Minish Cap (best town ever in Zelda, IMHO, even counting TWW), this is a step in the right direction.

Mirrored? What the fuck? Nice job ruining what could have been a nicely upgraded MQ, Nintendo.

Not quite the same angle, but close enough...

Here's how that castle town shot looks in OoT 3DS...

And here's how it looks in the original...

Wow, I had a suspicion that the Master Quest mode would be different than the original Master Quest. Nice to see it is, though. It's gonna be freaky playing it reversed.

(I still haven't played the original Master Quest. I have it, borrowed from a friend, but I promised myself not to touch Zelda until OoT 3D. Boy, the wait is hard...)

Have you played both the Gamecube and Wii versions of Twilight Princess?

Ha its like they read the bitching about the lighting in the earlier title screen shots and made a sunset-ish version in response

Looks fucking awesome... love the Castle Town shot
