yeah but shes not really a bigot and i'd rather date a 'bigot' than a blue version of kaiden. just.so.bland.Rikyfree said:Rather have mummy issues than be a bigot.

That's what I love about these blue space girls, man. I get older, they stay the same colour.Thunder Monkey said:She had me at "I'm a virgin."
neojubei said:I'm going to have to play the demo myself, not sure who to believe in this thread, one person says lots of screen tearing and another says no. I've played both mass effect games on 360 and they also had their fair share of issues as well.
StuBurns said:There isn't 'lots' of screentear, but there shouldn't be any, it's disgraceful.
You can't count stuff like the prerecorded stuff really. The 'story so far' intro for example, that's full of it because it's just captures from the first game on 360 which ran like dog shit.RedRedSuit said:Definitely lots in the cut scenes, not so much in the gameplay.

Yeah, I'd say that's pretty accurate.RedRedSuit said:That is true.
I'd say it's like this:
Prerecorded FMV: tons of tearing.
Action-heavy in-engine cut scenes: quite a bit of frame rate drops.
Gameplay (fighting): fairly stable but not solid like 360 version.
Your mind works in ways I'd never contemplated.Chinner said:That's what I love about these blue space girls, man. I get older, they stay the same colour.

WTF at the FMV screen tearing. I didn't even know that was possible. I blame the source of the video capture.
The game performance was fine for me. I didn't notice much, if any, screen tearing during gameplay. The framerate seems unlocked. Some areas are silky smooth higher than 30 FPS.
Blown away by the opening of the game. Reminded me of the newest Star Trek movie where it's balls to the walls action. I really liked it and the demo made me interested in the full game.
As far as the shooting. I thought it was fine. You mostly just use the pistol. Love the auto-ammo pickup. I don't like how the reticule is always on the screen. I was clumsy with the power usage, but I can see where the combat situations will be strategic. The matching mini-game is annoying, but I suppose it's necessary to differentiate the character profiles.
Overall, impressed by the visuals(except for Miranda's FUBAR FACE) and voice acting. I only encountered one bug where my character stood in the wrong place during a dialogue sequence and the camera kept panning to the wall. I think I'll pick this up later.
That's pretty good news. The demo ran well for me.APZonerunner said:I'm under an embargo on the full version of the game, but I spent a bit of time with the demo now and I'll say it's 100% representative, performance wise.
It's fine, but it should be better.Wazzim said:It isn't that bad is it? I didn't buy the 360 version because this was coming..
neojubei said:Hmm doesn't sound that bad to me. Mass effect 2 had some issues but the game wasn't unplayable.
StuBurns said:It's fine, but it should be better.
Maybe it's because the demo was so small...AgentOtaku said:going through the demo now and lol wtf!? Where are the FMVs so damn choppy!?
Suzzopher said:Indeed. Remember Bioware were shouting about how this version was going to be using an updated engine and the port is a year later. It should be on par if not better than the other console experience at this point.
Not seeing the big ammounts of tearing here, but the framerate really drops when there are more npc's on screen (both ingame and in cutscenes).APZonerunner said:I'm under an embargo on the full version of the game, but I spent a bit of time with the demo now and I'll say it's 100% representative, performance wise.
Mirror's Edge performs better with the exclusion of AA, however that's because the engine doesn't support it already, developers have to add it themselves if they want it on PS3.Lince said:there is not a single Unreal Engine 3 PS3 game out there looking/performing on par or better than the 360 versions. Anyway, don't let that ruin your planet scanning fun!... terrible sequel.

What do you mean? They're the same aren't they?dwebo said:A shame about the face textures though, since you spend so much of the game staring at them.
It's quite noticeably less detailed in the face gen comparison. Is that due to the normal maps? Sorry if I used the wrong term.StuBurns said:What do you mean? They're the same aren't they?
The assets look the same to me, the saturation and contrast are clearly different though.dwebo said:It's quite noticeably less detailed in the face gen comparison. Is that due to the normal maps? Sorry if I used the wrong term.
