Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC Version |OT| Violence Breeds Violence

So custom res makes it blurry for me, borderless fullscreen crops the screen and forcing it to 60hz while fullscreen crashes the game.

Thanks Obama.

I assume that's supposed to happen?

Either that or I just stink.

So I think im doing it right but how do you stop the bullets that metal gear ray fires. Just doing the ninja run or doing the ninja run while moving the sword with X?

Don't, just close the game and start again, both things happened to some of us.

Ok, thanks for the heads up!

Jesus....

I'm assuming you're kidding

half-joking

it wouldn't hurt japanese devs to get some help with PC development/publishing in general. you'd think some of the bigger companies would have had their western teams/studios come help out and teach a bit or something.

Funny part was, when Raiden was at 0.1% health, I was so good at Parrying Sam's attacks that it took me forever to trigger the cutscene.

Nope, that's one of those battles you have to lose for story reasons. You're good.

I know I sure as fuck won't need Viagra.

I've had like a 4 hour erection, but I don't really feel the need to call my doctor. Just the need to play more Rising.

Wow, it's like you read my Steam review.

Got a chance to test it. Copied my x360ce profile into the directory, started the game, works 100% perfectly.

Thank you very much! Hard to wait a month for my new PC.

*for other people asking, this is about how the Wii U Pro Controller works with this game*

Lords of Shadow was made by Kojima Productions? I thought it was done my another developer. I have Lords of Shadow but I haven't installed it yet.
Game was developed by Mercury Steam, Kojipro helped with cutscenes and engine optimisation from what I recall.

Logo is still there nonetheless.

What is this bug that 1080P in game is 1080i on my monitor and how do i add the custom resolution to the game in amd catalyst? The prompt is not allowing me to manually input a value i have to use the button.

It was slightly overseen by Kojima productions at best. Mercury Steam are the developers.

Nope, they contracted out for that port.

Mercury Steam is doing Lords of Shadow 2 PC however.

Climax Studios handled the PC port I believe. They have an existing relations with Konami through some previous Silent Hill games on various platforms, probably helped them to get the job.

Ouch, game was getting some probably CPU-based stutters every now and again during combat, and then it actually bluescreened my PC. Granted, it could be because the game is really pushing the CPU hard and my OC might be slightly unstable, I guess? Still, nothing else has made it crash with these settings for several months.

Not actually that important
Is there a fix to turn off the auto-centering camera crap?
I hated the always drifting back camera on PS3, not buying this unless there's a fix/mod

What the hell is wrong with this games settings. Can only get it to display at 1680x1050 which is 16:10 on my 16:9 1080p tv.

Very impressed with the port, runs really well for me and even the keyboard/mouse controls weren't too bad either. Of course I switched to controller very quickly anyway :) It's most definitely a good first port for Platinum and things can only get better if they get to port more of their games to PC. Here's hoping Konami let them patch the game as much as they want and that they want to support it.

So what are the issues with the PC port then so far ? Would they be the following ?

1. Needs resolutions above 1080p supported
2. Support for over 60fps/60Hz
3. Online only bug (this is an assumption/likely to be the case)
4. Runs at 24fps for some people in full screen

Anything else to add to the list ?

Ahhhh that 60fps. all over my face. so fucking good

can't even complain too much about the letterboxing. I was grinning fighting RAY all over again and I've done that at least a dozen times already. So good

Fullscreen causes the game to crash on some systems.

Not just 24fps, but also 50.

I consider this to be a good port, though. Needs some patches, but hey, I've been PC gaming for 17 years. I'm used to games needing patching.

i think the problem here is that it's unclear as to whether the publisher is interested in fixing anything

Ok, is this just happening to me or is anyone else getting it? It runs at 60fps except there's a tiny stutter roughly every second.

Yep, you can parry his arm.

For the missiles just ninja run towards them or around the roof while slashing, you'll cut through all of them.
You can either parry or just run towards the screen back and you'll avoid it and then hit him while he's stuck. If you are aggressive enough it'll only be able to do the arm attack twice before you take it down (on normal).

everything except the missiles.

When he hits you with his arm or head, yes. Then it'll give you a prompt to blade mode and you can cut bits off him - this does substantial damage.

Ok, cool, thanks. The game booted me to desktop suddenly which I'm guessing is the online DRM/bug issue. I might wait 'til that is resolved (and maybe cards are patched in) before I play any more.

Apart from the 1080p resolution cap and the always online bug it's a very good port. Game runs silky smooth on my setup and they used the high quality PS3 cutscenes (21.3 GB holy crap).

is steam the only place to get this in the UK? can't seem to find any online retailer selling keys, wanted to see if I could get it cheaper (yeah I know i missed the pre-purchase price thought that pre-purchase wouldn't end till after midnight but was wrong)

With how many copies this game has sold, they fucking better.

From patched Dark Souls a few times but they never bothered to touch the 720p/30 FPS cap even though a few modders overcame both obstacles in their spare time. I'm concerned that Platinum/Konami will do the same thing. At least Platinum has a forum presence, though.

I can't seem to wrap my head around the combat. You're supposed to parry in the direction of the other person's attack, but half the time the camera is facing Raiden head on and I can't even see who's attacking me.

I love the over-the-top action, but I'm not too crazy about the gameplay. I really wish it had a lockon system to solve the camera problems.
