A lot of rumors circulating in St. Louis that Riggleman could have a good chance. I kept thinking Riggleman could go to the Cubs, if Quade is out as manager.

Shocked that Francona isn't being mentioned more.

Hey guys. Had a huge test Saturday (8+ hour event) and am finally recovered.

Rangers loss is still quite disappointing. I still think back to the 9th inning when Nelson Cruz did not catch that fly ball at the wall as really the stake in the heart of us winning the series. Absolutely an unacceptable play. I don't care about the fact we got the lead back in the 10th and blew it finally in the 11th, that was Washington's fault, and man did he fuck up bad this series.

So a very belated congrats to the Cards, you came back and kicked our asses. You deserved it 100%. To be honest, I am still upset about our loss, but I have mostly come to terms with it.

Not sure who I want to take over for TLR. The Cards are wanting to find someone within the next two weeks. Francona could work, wouldn't mind him taking over.

I love him. He's been a great third base coach, hitting coach, bench coach and interim manager.

Even when the rumors about John Farrell came out I got a little excited. I think he would make the best fit for the current team and would be worth possibly dishing out prospects and DeMarlo Hale's contract giving him a chance at being the Jays skipper.

Mills I think is capable as well. He has been away from the team a little longer and has been in a different league. Because of that the desire probably isn't there. I'm glad he has a managing gig...but it is the Astros.

braves are eating 10 mil though, I would love to have Lowe for 5 million. Looks like we got a lefty in A ball.

With good defense behind him I think Lowe will perform well.

edit: and as expected the braves exercised hinske's option and declined mclouth's. And gonzalez is apparently a type b free agent. Wonder if FA comp will still be alive after the new CBA.

Yes, thank you to #10 for bringing a lot of success to the franchise. Kinda surprised he's not coming back to pass McGraw but it's time. There were multiple instances pre-Aug25 where I did not want him back and while he certainly played a big role in motivating the team to their comeback, I like seeing him go out on top.

I will miss his constant tinkering of the lineup for sure. Maybe not his affinity for scrappy (but mediocre) players though. I hope we're blessed with another great manager and pitching coach (almost certain Duncan's not coming back now).

It was a very close series. The players on your team seem likable and despite being a horrible ingame manager, Ron Washington handled the postgame conferences with a lot of class. Your team is mostly intact and you should make another run next year.

Seems like that would be worth a flier for someone like Milwaukee, Toronto or Cincinnati. A fence-sitting contender. He'd be a cheaper (and given the state of FA better) option than most guys on the market.

Is he healthy?

Edit: Hunh he only played in 10 games that year.

5 surgeries in the last 3 seasons. I never thought high of him to begin with.

Hafner, Carmona and apparently Kosuke Fukudome are free agents too?

(Yeah id be much more active in here, if you know, the Expos had a team and we could discuss some Expo baseball)

IT'S OFFICIAL. Citi Field New Dimensions:

October 31, 2011 – The New York Mets today announced they are moving in portions of the outfield wall at Citi Field as much as 12 feet and lowering the height of the home run line to 8 feet throughout the outfield. The outfield wall will become blue in 2012 concurrent with the Mets 50th Anniversary season. The home run line and distance markers will remain orange.

The Mets will erect a new wall in leftfield starting between the New Era and Caesars signs and angled to the Citi sign in left-centerfield (see renderings). The new wall will be closer to home plate by approximately 4 feet in leftfield and up to approximately 12 feet in deep left-centerfield.

A new wall will start in right-centerfield and extend toward the bullpen, and be as much as approximately 11 feet closer to home plate. The fence in front of the Mo's Zone/Modell's Clubhouse will move in approximately 10 feet. The distances from home plate to centerfield and the foul poles in leftfield and rightfield will remain the same.

"We wanted to make Citi Field fair to both pitchers and hitters," said Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson.

"After conferring with Sandy and all members of his staff, Ownership concurred with the recommendation to change the dimensions at Citi Field," said Mets COO Jeff Wilpon. "We decided to change the outfield wall from black to Mets blue, which many of our fans have wanted."

As a result of moving the walls in, the Mets will create a unique seating section in leftfield between the new and existing wall to accommodate about 100 fans. The club will also expand the Modell's Clubhouse in rightfield to incorporate an outdoor seating area for approximately 40 additional fans.
