All this just to say you don't understand how fucking crazy 7 straight appearances is. If Steph keeps showing up after this, they'll bring his up too.
That's the entire point of my post.

It's not that crazy to me simply because of the competition. If we are going to say that 7 appearances is crazy, then competition has to be analyzed and taken into account to validate that claim. That's also why I said the Spurs would do the same if not better if they were switched with LeBron's team. It's really not that crazy. LeBron is one of the greatest of all time, and the East is incredibly weak. Appearances don't get much credit from me.

LeBron defeating the 73-9 warriors is crazy. More than crazy. The appearances...aren't.

It's not crazy when you consider the circumstances. For each of those 7 years, LeBron played on super teams that were expected to make the finals in a weak East. It's been a forgone conclusion every year after 2011 where he went through the Celtics and Bulls that were legitimately good teams, but just didn't have the same level of talent on their rosters.

it's 2017 and we still arguing about LeBron's legacy.

You should never discuss legacy when career is still ongoing. That's how you end up in "x is better than y was". The endless talk about Kobe being above Jordan, for example, has completely ended. It was the only discussion going for many seasons in a row.

When a person wins a title, the knee jerk generation with their 3-minute attention span will call that person the greatest. As soon as they fail other people call him a loser. Better to wait and see. It's easier to take into account the successes and failures and what each accomplishment was worth when it's all over.

Personally I don't think it's "amazing" to make the Finals 7 times in a row, when it was done by moving to just the right team at a right time. Or if you believe James would be playing in his 7th Finals in a row if he stayed with the Cavs, there's something really wrong with you. Taking advantage of opportunities in a masterful way, but still it takes some shine of the participation trophy.

But he's a once in a generation player. Just like many others before him. Too bad the league around him isn't nearly as good. Wasting great players because they play 10-15 meaningful games in a year is no fun.

Jordan only entered the league 33 years ago. Kobe 21 years ago. And then LeBron 14 years ago. Arguably the top 3 in basketball ever weren't that separated from each other relatively. There will be players as great as LeBron in our lifetime, multiple even.

Even though I fucking hate LeBron and the Cavs, I think they're gonna win the finals. GS won't stand a chance if Klay can't put up big numbers.

But you still need to play and win the games, and endure the long schedule. There's a reason why no other guy
except those 60's Celtics teams and James Jones lol
made it to 7 straight NBA finals appearance. The mileage will take a toll on your body and teams change all the time. And it's not like his road to the finals is easy as people make it look. He had to beat MVP Rose and the Bulls, Big 3 plus Rondo and the Celtics, Paul George and the Pacers twice, and the 60-win Atlanta Hawks team to make the finals, and those were some of the best regular season teams at that time.

And as for wisely leaving the Cavs the first time, it was the right move. It's not always that the best player in the NBA plays for a big market team like the Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics or LA Lakers, and it's not always that the best player lands on a team with an awesome organization like the Spurs. And it's not always that the best player landed on a team with a competent front office to pair him up with superb talent, like HoF Pippen for MJ, HoF Kobe for Shaq, and HoF Duncan for Robinson. LeBron simply showed that a player can control how he can be surrounded with a winning roster will be looked at instead of relying solely on your GM or owners to pour in money to sign elite talent or scout better players. Had LeBron played on an elite organization as a rookie, we wouldn't be talking about this and he would probably had way more finals appearance and championship rings.

They still won 60 games. They got demolished by Cavs, sure, but it still was one of the better teams that season and they still made it to ECF like they should.
But it's the Hawks

Atlanta sports failing is a certainty like Death and Taxes and the Clippers being forever mediocre

Isn't Paul Pierce that guy that shit himself during a game once and then faked an injury so that he could leave the court and change his shorts?

no, when he was lying on the floor he had the bottom of his shorts in full view and his teammates were carrying him in such a way that also showed the bottom of his shorts. If he had really shit himself then they wouldn't have done that

don't disrespect the sole GOAT like this

There will be multiple players as great as the greatest player ever in our lifetime? Are you insane???

Why is Kobe even in this post? What's going on here???
