Netflix |OT| Where Binge Watching is Encouraged

Wow, I got a real kick out of The Founder. Great pickup for Netflix.

It's somehow an underrated movie. Very interesting look on Mcdonalds history.
As I said to one of my friends when it was over though, Ray Kroc
would be the villain of any other movie. He steals a company out from two honest, hardworking, loveable guys and then leaves his loyal wife to be with the wife he steals from one of his earliest investors? The man was basically a monster yet we were to feel good about him at the end.

Oh dang, Netflix added The Good Place? If you haven't watched this and like comedies similar to Parks & Rec or New Girl, WATCH IT NOW.

And DO NOT read anything about the season beforehand - best to go in blind through the very end. Believe me.

I mean to watch it. Unfortunately I've allowed myself to be spoiler (and I think even get spoiler) in a random thread a while ago.

Looks like early reviews of Death Note are out. I was excited about this and hoping for the best, but not surprised. Of course I'll watch it anyway. Many of poorly rated movies I enjoy.

Wingard methodically lays the foundation to set up this particular Death Note adaptation for a potential sequel

That... sounds really stupid.

At no point did I ever feel like the movie was trying to make us feel good about Ray Kroc. He was clearly presented as a massive jerk. But it was his jerkish tendencies that allowed him to be successful in business in the end. But I don't think being successful in business makes you a hero, and I don't think the movie was presenting it that way either.

What up with the Netflix description though ?
Do they even watch the product they describe ?

The documentary about Cannabis "Culture High" is described as a documentary confronting different viewpoint about the issue, and it's one of the most biased, brain-dead documentary i've watched in years. You have literally not even one comment about one negative effect the weed could have.

Also the description about Vikings make it sound like it's some kind of stupid action show with "muscular men and beautiful women" when it's not at all the point of the serie.

I love the service but it's one hell of a weak point.

Did they add HDR to the PS4 app today? I think they did, and its broken.

My PS4 pro is dimming everything as if the entire app is in HDR mode, but the app itself doesn't seem to react to it. All the whites are a grey now, in menus and movies.

This is annoying. The only way to fix it is to turn off game mode on my KS8000...which I never have to do for games that support HDR. :/

I've been watching One Million Yen Women on Netflix. I heard of harem anime before and I feel like this what one would feel like.
Three of these girls seem to want him and it looks like a fourth.
It's live-action. I'm kind of hooked to it. It started out just okay, but I'm really in it now. There's a mystery element to this and I have to see through to the end. Who invited these five women, who's sending him those insulting faxes every day, and what will become of his career?

The ending of episode 7 was WHOO!
When that one girl said she knew who sent out the invites and it was someone he knew, my suspicion was directly on Nanaka after she showed up at the writer's conference and got the judges to read his new book. I was thinking she was a fan and did this as some sort of twisted way to get him to write his best book yet and become a best-seller. I was positive when she took him out on the date too and broke the rules. Now that she's dead. It can't be her. That death was something too. Shocking and sad especially since she had an epiphany reading his book and made Shin promise to cast her in the leading role if Drifting Emotions gets adapted into a film.

I'm going through Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for the first time. The episode descriptions seem to all be what happens in the opening scene before the title sequence.

No seeing anything on my end. Still only Ultra 4K. Isn't the KS8000 one of these sets where you have to manually adjust settings anytime you view HDR and SDR content?

Finished defenders. I liked it. It could have been a bit longer than 8 episodes though. The defenders + related series could become the best thing about netflix for me. I think the DC guys with arrowverse need to have a crossover season now, but that would be difficult to do since they typically air every season side by side.

Don't go into any of the defenders threads lol

I feel like Defenders would have been better as a movie and Death Note would have been slightly better as a series.

(Both are good, though)
