People here too easily trust bad news when it comes to Microsoft.

It's pretty believable if you ask me, given their track record this year and negative rumors coming out weeks before any of their announcements (which proved said rumors).

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage

If it was from somebody other than thuway/famousmortimer/other confirmed quality source, I wouldn't believe it.

But, it is.

When snapping with a game, is that two OSes working at the same time? Don't apps and games have their own custom OS?

Hell, I forget what the third one is for.

The 3rd one "does the talking"between the other 2 operating systems.
It means they can switch out either hardware or UI with something else and the other part continues to function.
So yes, They are both working at the same time anyway , all the time.

The scaler is really the only bit doing the work when you you snap something, although they have encouraged developers to drop the game's screen resolution or change the screen ratio and FOV to allow for a consistent, unfortunately many of the games hadn't been liking this.

You guys hate the xbox one so bad lol.
I haven't jumped into the hate storm yet and probably won't, but man... after what happened with all my and everyone else's 360s, I wouldn't feel sorry for them in the slightest if they blow it again.

Edit: I'll add that how they chose to handle the RRoD was the right thing to do, but even so I don't think it's OK if they try to pull the same stunt again.

The best response for MS would be to release a video of the XB1 OS being used in realtime. Otherwise these rumors aren't going to get any quieter.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.
And I don't want the XB1 to fail.

It's too big to fail. Microsoft will throw resources at the problem until everything runs. Apart from that, as long as it can play games, people will buy it. It's not like it won't have any games because of being ridiculously incapable like the Wii U.

Same two guys repeating the same rumors.

On GAF alone we have famousmortimer, thuway, Proelite and heavy hints from CBOAT verified by the bish. Then there's Robert Florence and other people posting on twitter...

We can hope they get things much improved with the day 1 patch, but pretending this is all lies is beyond silly at this point.

Honestly, he probably thought that was true at the time. He's not involved in creating the OS.

But man is this bad.

What if all the OS news pertains to the demo units for both consoles?

As far as I know, neither is running the proper full OS, and both have had issues with freezing and crashing no? The sources could very well have been referring to these.

This is why you don't blow your wad with all of your features and all of your games at once.

May look good during the reveal and may give the impression you're ahead of the competition but look where it can leave you if you fall behind.

I find the PSN/XBL race puzzling - can they really be that different to the currently active systems?

I'd have thought they'd just build upon their existing infrastructure rather than make new stuff?

Man, I really can't wait for the Giantbomb day one livestream extravaganza with this console. If it really is that horrible, the internet will burn.

The "good" should say faster CPU, not GPU, and it was an uptick in clock speed on the CPU for XBO when before I'm pretty sure both were even CPU-wise.

Marginally faster CPU, not GPU.

Though that's not confirmed since Sony never revealed the clock speed of the PS4 CPU.

Well, I'm not buying it at launch and if these rumours are true it's not going to last very long after that. So I guess in a way I'm happy MS are saving me £429. I just hope that the devs I like (lookin' athcoo Remedy) survive the death of the Xbox brand.

Any proof of better sound chip ?
Any proof or link to better raytracing performance ?

We gamers demand you release realtime footage so We can then claim it's a fake

I love how in a post referencing Thuway and Mortimer as sources, people are corroborating the rumor by linking to the earlier thread citing thuway and Mortimer. Too funny.
