Where else would she be in a position to help indie studios, especially given her Nintendo slant?

She fucked up pretty badly, apologised profusely, made the best attempts to mend her errors via personally contacting the sources affected, re-evaluated her focus, and made a decision that best suits her interests with minimal conflict.

I know for a fact her connections with numerous small independent developers are legitimate, and even though there's no excusing the mistake she made, I personally think she handled it professionally enough all things considered, and made no attempt to excuse those mistakes, taking responsibility where appropriate. And is now making the right decision for her in an area she is more interested in.

PR, probably. If she really wants to put her money where her mouth is she might try publishing a few of these games on her own dime.
