I wonder if this would make its way to the US, because shooting schoolgirls at school would be a huge no, more-so than the perversion of it all. Although that is really gross.
I could see it coming over as a digital title. The shooting doesn't seem very graphic (the gameplay I've seen doesn't show much blood, but someone who's played the game can probably correct me on this). If the school girls were getting blown to bits I don't think this game would have a chance. The Interrogation mini games would have to be heavily censored though.

From gameplay videos this beats Shinovi Versus in terms of fanservice but suffers in terms of gameplay.
The thing about Shinovi Versus was that on top of all the fanservice it was a good musou/dynasty warrior type game. Bullet Girls however fails when trying to emulate a third person shooter. I hope this does not happen to Estival Versus.

I got about 25 seconds into the video, right around when the banana (or whatever) was jammed in the underage girls mouth, and as was like, "Nope. Uh uh."
Again, maybe I just don't get it.

It's just a game. Best not to worry about it and ignore it if you find it offensive. I don't think anyone wants to turn this place into tvtropes as far as what can and can't be talked about.
Not wanting to start a thing here, and just out of personal curiosity, but does the "it's just a game" defense hold up to everything in your mind. As in, there's nothing that could be represented digitally that you would consider offensive or crossing the line?

This is something I've discussed at length on gaf, but yes. I believe fictional depictions of anything should be fair game as far as their right to exist. I might find it gross and hope it's labeled accordingly, but I would not call for it to be outlawed
It's just a game. There's no nudity (ie no nipples or private parts visible) or sex/rape, plus those "underage" girls aren't even real. Games that depict brutal and gory acts of murdering and maiming aren't a problem here, so I don't see why Bullet Girls (or any other similar games) shouldn't be allowed.
Including graphic visual representations of (as technology improves) near photo-realistic or indistinguishable from photo-realistic recreations of heinous illegal acts including child pornography?
Also, to be more specific digital recreations where you are not simply observing but actually participating (in a fictional, digital context)?
Those wouldn't be allowed on consoles/handhelds anyway, even if they were to exist. None of these games that have groping feature actual nudity or sex or anything.

That's a huge leap in logic that doesn't really have any direct relation to Bullet Girls itself, so I don't see why this needs to be brought up here in the first place.

This game isn't anywhere close to being photo-realistic. If you feel the need to discuss further, I think it's best you do it elsewhere. Please don't derail this thread.
Apparently? The console manufacturers and ratings boards seem to agree as well, since there are a number of games that have groping/clothes destruction and no actual sex or nudity and they're allowed. Japanese games that actually have sex and nudity are PC only.
Actually nude groping would probably be better to me because if she's fully naked she seems more likely to have consented groping beat-up girls in torn clothes is the worst.
But I hate how the word "underage" is used as if the fact that it's AGAINST THE LAW is what makes this whole thing reprehensible. The statutory angle is the least of this game's problems.

I believe photo-realistic stuff would be another discussion entirely. It would still be a victim-less crime at its base, but I think more research would need to be done to determine the effect on the player/viewer.
However, what we're talking about isn't anywhere close to that situation. Even with player interaction, I'd hardly think tapping a screen to make an unrealistic anime girl moan or whatever is comparable to what you're suggesting. I mean hey, robot makers are way ahead on that front.
The graphics in this game are pretty much the opposite of photo-realistic.

and btw nothing about this anime styl is photorealistic or real.. infact this game looks barely like a ps2 launch game..

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
