Your reaction: SackBoy's alt is a Bandicoot costume
Isn't ESP and Lightbox doing iOS development now?
Heh, found this when I was looking through Sackboy's moveset on the offcial site.
Starhawk bombed
Should have said "remember to list crash's moves for launch" sooooo close

Holy shit how did I miss this ad lolFuck yes, Polygon Man
Because they refused to listen to everyone sounding the alarms. Look I see the appeal of PSASBR and think it will do well, but from the Starhawk private beta in November (7 months before release) I knew it was going to struggle if they didn't make changes. Myself and others were vocal about those changes and yet they did not listen and in the end they were wrong
I've said this before but I fully expect PSASBR to be a million seller no prob (I hope I don't get to eat crow . The delay makes it dangerously close and just after AC3 and COD so that has me a lil worried .)I don't understand what makes 700K a sign of the series disappearing?
People seem to have this mentality that if a game doesn't reach 6 million units, it's a bomb.
I can't speak for the budget of All Stars, but I doubt it's approaching MGS4 or Killzone 2 levels. All Stars is not a $50 million budget game.
Over the course of 3 years, I can see the game's budget being anywhere between $10-$15 million, if that much. If the game sold 700k, that'd be roughly $42 million. Please keep in mind that salaries have already been paid, marketing has already been paid, so that $42 mil will be simply recouping what Sony put into the game. They'd have made a nice, fat profit off of All Stars if it sold 700k, and more than likely we'd see a sequel.
Even David Jaffe stated that they were happy with the sales of Twisted Metal PS3. I imagine it's because, even though it didn't sell like the old entries in the series, and didn't breach 1 million units, it probably still turned a profit for the company.
I don't see All Stars being a 1 million seller out the gate, but like many of Sony's new IPs, I imagine it will be a slow burner, and certainly cross 2 million before it's all said and done. I think, with this game, word of mouth is going to be one of the key contributors to this title's success over pure marketing tactics like commercials and billboards. Many skeptics have been converted by the demo units out there, and various events.
I think it will have solid numbers release week, and will probably improve even more thanks to Black Friday. But I really hate talking about sales. I just had to say my thoughts on that 700k number.
Not every game needs to post CoD numbers. Especially if the production team has been on the ball with managing their budget and maximizing their staff's skillset.
So I started working on a minimalist Polygon Man t-shirt design...
Any special requests/ideas?

It'd be cool if the game dressed your sackboy however you have him customized in LBP by analyzing the save, and also had it so all clothing DLC was cross compatible between the games.

Yeah you're right. The Crash pic made me think of how crazy the possibilities would be.It would be awesome but also propably too much work to get it compatible for all versions and such when PSASBR has 2 different developers on different platforms allready and they had to delay the game once allready. Apparently alt costumes having alt colours made it just in time for the release and I'd imagine that being way easier to implement.
Well hopes up for the sequel I guess.

I only played a bit of the Starhawk beta, but I bought the full game and it was great. Personally, I think Starhawk's problem was poor marketing, not the quality of the game Sony needs to do just more than the bare minimum when it comes to marketing. Things aren't like they were in the PS1 and PS2 games, when everyone was high on PlayStation. A lot of cynicism earlier this generation really hurt the PS3. They need to invest more in marketing. The perception of the PS3 has certainly changed, but most people just aren't aware of the games available for it.
Starhawk was great. It's a shame it didn't do better.
Well I should clarify. People were warning that the game was not fun and worse accessible to many people. The beta drove this home as people were base raped and rage quittin was everywhere. Not exactly the kind of message you want from a beta. supporters like myself were simply asking for some pre built non destructible resources at the home base and capturable forward bases. Build and battle would then be used to fortify. Boom an infinitely more enjoyable and accessible game that also helps protect from base raping.

Even if the game makes a profit it faces the same problem talked about in the translation/SE thread. They might want to use that money for some other project if they think it has a chance to be more successful than PSASBR2. That said PSASBR has one advantage to stay relevant even if it only turns a small profit and that is its marketing value for other Sony series.

Lucky guy...
We have so much PlayStation All-Stars coverage coming next week, it's going to blow your mind. Oh, and a live stream tomorrow.
Awesome thanks, will definitely be tuning in
Should be fun to see all the final menus, and everything of that nature. Plus I always invite more gameplay footage. Should be pretty good quality if it's coming from IGN directly too
P.S. recently decided I might want to try to main Sackboy, keep that in mind for our awesome duo Mink haha
IGN are gonna have the biggest circle-jerking review for this game. Anything under a 9 and I will main Fat Princess.
8.8. You'll see.
Eww, I don't wanna main Fat Princess. I have an aversion to fat chicks - it would be bad for my health.

But Fatty P rocks in this game. I will actually probably take her online the first week to get all the online trophies easily.
