No, I am talking about Medicare.

A gradual decrease in funding until it's RIP

Yea. I doubt this bill even clears the House. By tomorrow afternoon AARP and every other Senior Citizen special interest group will be blasting it and I honestly can't think of a single organization that would support this thing. PP hates it, AARP hates it, Insurance Companies are gonna hate it, poor people, middle class people, old people, young people--basically everyone who isn't bonkers rich.

I'm trying to figure out how they plan to sell this as being better?

What exactly can they point to as being better?

Rep. Jim Jordan of Freedom Caucus trashes bill: "It's subsidies for unaffordable health care, subsidies for unaffordable premiums."

lol this won't even pass the House

Like I said in the OT thread, this seems like really mixed messaging for coming from the Freedom Caucus. Taking this wording at face value Ryan couldn't just remove the subsidies without also implementing something to contain the "unaffordable health care" and "unaffordable premiums," and ironically the best tools for doing that are things the Freedom Caucus would raise a huge stink about too.

A repeal bill can get through budget reconciliation but a replacement will need 60 votes.

They seem to be going through with the "Reconciliation Plus" strategy, given that the bill is clearly labeled as budget reconciliation but apparently includes some replacements. Basically, they seem to be trying for a completely new reading of budget reconciliation rules that has never been tried before to squeeze in the replacement.

I hope there's a good article addressing this reconciliation process as it relates to this bill somewhere out there now or in the near future. It's an extremely important detail.

FOIA request shows official govt pictures of inauguration. Hope trump is seething right now.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/amph...as-inauguration-crowd-was-bigger-than-trumps/

A Park Service official said that four of the photos were forwarded to the White House after Trump made an unusual call to acting Park Service director Michael T. Reynolds on the day after the inauguration asking him to produce the images taken by agency photographers, the Post reported in late January. The president believed the photos might prove the media lied in its reporting.

played yourself . Khaled

Photos came out march 3, presumably forwarded that day to wh. anyone remember what happened march 4?

This fucking guy is such a joke.

Republican Congressman Justin Amash just called this "Obamacare 2.0," presumably in a negative sense. Sounds like he isn't a fan of the bill.

He's a deep Libertarian. Of course he did and of course he isn't.

Amash has been one of the bigger critics of Trump for awhile now.

What do Republicans gain by shitting out a bill they know won't be better than Obamacare and will not get passed by the Senate?

They can claim they tried, fell short of the votes but they intend to repeal it for reals next time and keep using the issue as a campaign issue. For them next time will be after the midterms or never or whenever Trump needs a distraction.

Money from the industry.

Industry doesn't fucking want it either, it'd just make it harder to get the people they actually want on the plan. Lower subsidies for the young, and the surcharge is a pretty hefty disincentive 10 months out of the year.

Goddamn lol.
Wow 😂

"I heard a story from a young man whose great great grandfather immigrated to America and changed his name to Toby, from Kunta Kinte, to help speed his assimilation. The American Dream is alive and well!" -probably Dr. Ben Carson

Does Trump's request actually demonstrate that he wasn't just bluffing/lying about the crowd sizes being bigger but that he was actually deluded in believing they were bigger?

He must really be paranoid about conspiracies to undermine his presidency. The theory he throws controversial tweets and claims out there in a masterful way to misdirect away from "the real issues" has much less weight.

While destroying the underlying systems that drive their actual moneymaking apparatus. A few people will make slightly more money selling garbage plans for cheap but by and large this thing's a loser and they know it.

Lawl Ryan confirmed. AGE TAX. Great idea you fuckwit.

What's he gonna try next, tax credits based on gender and sexual orientation (females and LGBTQ community getting little to no help)? 😂

Don't tempt him. He just might do that.

That shit will never clear the house, let alone the senate, if it even gets a vote.

LOL Ryan, you bent over for Trump just to take an even bigger L.

It's not about bending over for Trump, he wants this too. Probably wants it more than Trump, since he gets a chubby off of the idea of the poor being forced to bootstrap themselves.

This is just trying to square the circle of having a caucus that hates the affordable care act, has factions that are militantly opposed to any government spending, but has vulnerable members in the Senate who can't kill your grandpap for fear that they'll get voted out for it.

The underlying system that was starting to be put in place as part of ACA rose their profit up front but it both benefited people and lowered costs down the line.

You're insane if you think these provisions aren't meant shift money to insurance companies.

Ryan talks so much shit, but can't back it up. Had six years to come up with something and it's just ACA lite with no idea of where they're going to get the money for it.

They're a decaying party that cheated their way into the White House. Their death throes are setting us back, legit.

So what are the odds of Trump's Travel Ban 2.0 holding up in the courts?

Is there any possibility of this being taken to court before the ban gets put in place next week?

I meant he bent over by supporting Trump just so he can get his legislative agenda, and this stillborn clown car is what he got.
