Game cartridges big? Vita's are pretty small.
IIRC 8-4 said they were super tiny.
Edit: nvm, may have read that wrong.

I was drunk and was this close to pre-ordering one from Amazon. But I decided long ago to never buy day one. I am also not happy about 3G speeds or data caps. I'll eventually get the wi-fi only version.
Buy the way, why are game cartridges so big? Is it because they are cheaper to make or easier to handle?
PS3 was the only system I bought day one and though a new shiny toy is exciting, I don't like the initial post-release droughts. I'll wait till I see at least 5 games that I really want. By that time, they'd probably fix any initial kinks.
PS. Man, I would've bought one day-one if they had 4G, internal storage and unlimited data...
I popped in the local GameStop to check out the Vita, and sadly, it was behind the plastic case. The employee said they are doing the "unveiling tomorrow", so I may stop back up there this weekend if I have time.
However, while I was in the store, 3 people came in to preorder. I think the buzz is starting to get around.
Check GameStop.I wish that there'd been demos of Gravity Rush, Escape Plan, or any third-party software, but c'est la vie. Very impressed overall.
Check GameStop.
Apparently their demo units have those titles. FIFA as well.
I was at both of the ones in NYC's Union Square yesterday (as well as the Best Buy), and neither had demo units in. Hopefully later this week.
What's your opinion in terms of a purchase now? Curious as to how the demo units affected you.
I finally saw the game cases in person.
I knew they were small but dang. So slim and cute.
Gravity Rush cover is great.

Looks like Reality Fighters, Modnation, and Little Deviants were the only real 30 dollar Vita games.

Gravity Rush, Uncharted Abyss, Escape Plan, FIFA, WipEout, Hot Shots Golf, Modnation Racers, Virtua Tennis, Little Deviants, and the Welcome Park are the demoes shown at GameStops
The coin thing WAS offputting, but no review's made a big deal of it so I have to assume Namco avoided balancing that in an awful way like some freemium games. Of course it still sounds like I'd be better off tracking down the second game I never played. That's because no one wants to Touch My Katamari
Good on Sony and GameStop for actually putting together a quality selection for people to sample.
now that digital download discounts is kinda confirmed, I wonder if the price bump is due to retailer pressure because they know Sony's planning to offering discount on digital sales.
Wouldn't the pressure push the prices down? If you knew your competition was going to be offering deals you want your prices to be competitive.
My Amazon order to Australia.
Same stuff here Wifi Vita + Uncharted would be $400+ here.
;D
I believe Sony's one of the better ones at price dropping so long as it wasn't a title released on the store prior to the PSP go's launch, plus it's still a reliable day 1 advantage. It's the third parties I'd be more concerned about (well, and the fact stores will drop first even if Sony does too in the end.)Problem with this is the gamestop leak of a 10 percent discount, which is uninspiring for the digital store. Especially since the SCEA PSN team does a terrible job keeping up with retail offerings in terms of price. Uncharted will stay $44.99 on PSN when it is $19.99 in stores.

The shipping cost isn't near as high as I thought it would be.

Forgive my ignorance but how soon after launch is Gravity daze releasing?
Def will help me decide how soon I want to pick up a Vita.
No one knows. Current retail listing indicates a possible May release in North America.
I got a chance to try it out at the local gamestop today. only played fifa and wipeout, but it's a very cool piece of hardware. The screen is amazing, and the controls are pretty good, but the sticks take a little bit of getting used to..
I don't use them because I can't use them, but I'm always putting my Vita back to the case, so the screen will never scratch! To all the people who talk about screens, gorilla glass, this and that -- do you not use screen protectors normally? It's fine if you don't, I'm not trying to troll, I just genuinely want to know.
Personally, I don't care how tough something is supposed to be -- if it is a screen, it's getting a screen protector the second it comes out of the box. I put a Sony protector on the Vita, and I don't even notice it is there.

I use screen protector with everything not gorilla glass. I suck at putting them on so they always look like garbage. Then I got the hori 3ds one and it was the best one application-wise I've ever used. Their Vita one uses a similar system so I'm hoping for good things.
